Does anyone on here have cigna? I have my surgery date set for dec 21 and i wondering if i should wait and see if they will cover it? is anyone in the same boat as me? Im wondering if anyone knows the code the insurace needs? is it 43775?
  2. Gggrr me to! I am scheduled for December but I dont know if i should wait tell jan to see if my insurance cigna will pick up! I hear it know has a code but who knows how long it will be in tell insurance companies will pick it up, if they ever will.
  3. WAIT..... so I went to the link and checked it out but where did you get this link??? And is it true? that the sleeve is goin to be passed on jan 1 ??
  4. Ok I have been doing some research about the sleeve and I know about 80% of the stomach gets cut out. But my question is after surgery can your stomach stretch back out? I know you can gain weight back it you cheat and eat junk food and don?t work out. I just want to know before I do this, is there a way that my stomach will expand again? Thanks Amanda
  5. I have just started looking for a loan to cover my surgery! The surgery is going to cost $13,550 I have called surgeryloan.com and they wanted a ridiculous interest rate. I have good credit but because I?m only 20 I haven?t got my credit built up yet but my Dads going to co sign and he has excellent credit but the surgerylaon.com told me that I can get two loans out to equal the full amount one at 16% and the other 23%!!!!! Ok hellz no I wound never be able to pay that off I?m getting the surgery to better my life not to drown in debt! So my question is what loan place did you use? Do you have any advice? What interest rate did you get? Anything you can tell me will help! Thanks Amanda :crying:
  6. I don't know what to do!!!...... I just called to make my first consultation and they want to know if I’m going to be self pay or covered by insurance. WELLL the problem is I have Cigna and like most insurance comp. they don’t cover the VSG "YET"! I have heard rumors that in January that there MIGHT be a pass and the sleeve will be accepted by most insurance. The problem is what if it doesn’t get passed and I’m in the same boat now, having to pay myself but only now i wasted 3 months?? The other dilemma is what if it is passed? I’m not even sure if they will cover me because my BMI is 37 not freakin 40! And I don’t have any health related risk (that I know of). I know Cigna says you have to have a BMI of 40 or higher or 35 with health risk cause both my parents had the gastric done. WHAT TO DO... WHAT TO DO... If I decide to wait for insurance and start preparing for it I have to start seeing a Nutritionist, if I self pay I don’t. Now my big Q: is should I start preparing myself for the insurance road or the fast but expensive road??? Please don’t tell me it’s up to me to decide because I get that. I just need to know what u might do or an idea, opinions, something! Please….:cursing::scared0::cursing:
  7. is there going to be a change in January that might help the VSG surgery get passed by insurance? :confused1: I'm not sure if this post make scene but i heard people on here talking about the idea of waiting tell Jan because it might be passed by then ?
  8. I was just wondering if anyone on here had cigna? I am on my dads insurance and I know cigna covers gastric bypass because both my parents had it done last year. I am just wondering if anyone has tried to get approved by cigna for the VSG yet ?

I love how you worded "I honestly believe I have dieted myself fat." I feel the same way!!!! Good luck with everything!
  10. Wow I am really starting to like this site! I have already learned so much from all of you. I found it "crazy" & shocking how many people answered my Q: it so awesome and thank you everyone who did write back to me. My up date is that this Wednesday Im going to the Weight Loss Surgery Seminar:biggrin0: Kinda of scared of what to expect!!! I will let yall know how it goes. Im sooo ready for change!
  11. I am on my 1st stage of the whole VSG, i just started to do my research and setting up the appointment for the Seminar. I going to the memorial Hermann hospital in Houston TX with Dr. Davis. I a little scared because I pretty sure my insurance wont cover me. I 20 years old and 223 pounds i don't have any real health issues besides the fact that I'm over weight. Both my parents had gastric bypass done last year and look great I also now better understand what kind of diet you have to stick to before and after, that's why i know i can make this life change. I know the bypass is not for me. My two brother are also over weight and i have a family history of "chubby" people in my family. I'm just scared because I'm still in college and in order to have this surgery I'm going to have to pick a huge bill. but i think that because i am still young and have my whole life to live that there is no better time to get the VSG done. I have a few Q: if anyone can just take the time and tell their story. #1 - how much did you pay for the VSG? #2 - is there anyone about the same age as me that has had it done? #3- any advise, comments, concerns Thanks soo much Amanda
