Well put!

My first reaction to Mzhawkins post was that she is kinda wrong to lose weigh and then want to separate from her husband of 18 year after. Everyone has his/her own opinion. While I understand you have a strong faith Awkward, you really went to far with this post. You could have approached this very differently, it was distasteful and disrepectful!

I've had the psych and nutrition visit just waiting for reports to get to surgeons office, so they can submit to insurance. I spoken to my doctor nurse 3 times already and feel like I'm starting to stalk her.......lol. Im just ready to get my band. The nurse said that she will have scheduling coordinator to tentatively schedule my surgery for August 11th pending approval. I so desperately want to call and ask her if she did in fact schedule. I dont want to get on her nerves. You know honestly my mind is all over the place, but I know I need this for me.

I completed my psych eval today, and was given the thumbs up. Now just waiting for the nutrition and psych reports to be sent to surgeon office. Then will be submitted to my insurance. The nurse have tentatively schedule surgery for August 11 pending insurance approval. I'm praying that I get the approval and in a reasonable time frame to keep this date. Fingers crossed!!!!

If you don't mind me asking what insurance do you have?

I have not been banded yet, but I think this is a good question. I enjoy having a drink every now and then and wonder if that is a problem with having a lap band. Hope others that are banded will respond, so I can get some feedback as well.

I now have a tentative date scheduled for August 11th, if all goes well with my insurance. I though I have not gotten an approval or denial from insurance, after I got off the phone with my surgeon nurse I immediately became nervous and I think scared.

I went to my first consultation with my surgeon and he mentioned the nutrition and psych visit, but I am reading about everyone getting ugi, sleep studies, cxr, and other testing. I do know that I have to have another visit with him before the procedure. Should I be worried that he has not ordered additional test, should I call to speak with his nurse with questions, or am I jumping the gun?

Ok i went to my nutrition class this morning and it was a lot of information. I immediately felt overwhelmed. That was so much to take in. Did anyone else have these feelings are is it me just getting the jitters? Next up psych visit!

Your doctor is in network, but the group of physicians he work with are not? How is that possible? They should all be under the same tax id number for billing. If they are not why cant they just bill under your physician (who is in-network) tax id. Thanks crazy sorry you are having to deal with this.

Ok, I am in the process of trying to get everything together for insurance approval. And in the process think I have come addicted to lapbandtalk.com. I keep reading about this dreaded protein intake requirement, I really dont do well with drinking things that are nasty.....it includes gagging, vomiting, etc.....Is there not a liquid shot (like the 5 hour energy shot by mouth) or gummy protein to I can take......lol!! Im laughing to keep from crying!!! lol

Hello! I had not had my lapband yet. I hope to have it done in August. I was wondering if others who have been banded or is planning to be, worried about excess skin? I desperately want to loss this weight I have been carrying around for years, but I then think that I would be unhappy with myself all over again if I have excess skin. My emotions are just all over the place........I guess.

Hey Peps, Thanks for the info. My surgery is not scheduled yet. I have my nutrition class friday and psych visit next week, after which my doctor's office will submit for authorization. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a Aug. surgery date.

Hello Everyone, I have my psych visit next week. I know that each is psychologist might be different, but can someone give me a idea of how the psych visit is. I read in someone summary from a post that they failed first psych test, but passed second.........There's a test?? And how is it possible to fail? Thank you.

I'm pushing for August! I have nutrition this friday and psych next thursday. Hopefully both will send reports to my surgeon in a resonable about of time, so they can submit to insurance for approval. I am really really keeping my fingers crossed.

I went to a seminar on 6/7, went to see the doctor on 6/20, was told by nurse (who is the greatest) that my insurance does not require supervised diet. I scheduled my nutrition class for next week and psych for the week following. Although I am nervous as heck, I want to get my surgery as soon as possible.
