  1. I am coming up on 10 weeks this Thursday of being banded. I absolutely despise working out/exercising. I'm currently working out 4-5 days a week, and it feels like a chore, I don't enjoy it at all. I do it because I have to, if I want this weight to come off. I guess just feeling overwhelmed by this whole experience right now!!! How long did it take some of you all to look forward and enjoy exercising?
  2. I am really not one to give advice because I as well am one to enjoy a glass of wine or 2, 3............ However I did ask my surgeon in the very first consult appointment about wine and the lapband. He said that I could enjoy my wine, but to be mindful of the calories. So now when I drink it is always planned and I re-arrange my calorie/food intake to allow for it.
  3. Name, real or screen~ ms.lady Age~ 32 Weight on October 1st~ 264.6 Weight on October 8th~ 261.0 Weight on October 15~ 259.8
  4. I hope this 2nd fill does a little something for me, I know it is said that it may take a few fills to get to the "sweet spot" or "green zone" I want some restriction so I can fill full for longer periods of time. October 31, 2011 isn't getting here fast enough!!!
  5. I as well have found myself getting bored and uninterested in my routine meals. I try to say to myself all the time "a least you are losing" because I don't see any changes in my appearance or clothing. But I have read that from most post that they did not start seeing changes in clothing until 50lbs. I can't wait to go for my second fill which is at the end of the month, because I have slowly noticed myself eating more and gosh the hungrier. Wishing you the best!
  6. Name, real or screen~ ms.lady Age~ 32 Weight on October 1st~ 264.6 Weight on October 8th~ 261.0 Accomplishing exercise goal, but still strugging with dietary. Also need to learn how the handle social occasions with friend (i.e drinking and dining), went last night and think I did poorly.
  7. I had severe itching to the point that I would scratch so much I was breaking the skin on my stomach. I would scratch in my sleep. My incision would swell as well. My surgeon said it was mostly likely an allergic reaction to something and had me take benadryl and it worked. Also no infections!
  8. I know exercising at times is a challenge for me, I just have no energy most of the time. My weigh loss is slow. The scale is slowly moving, but I just want to see a difference in my appearance and the way my close fit. And omg the muffin top in definately in full effect, seems I will be wearing my spanx for a while.
  9. From the bottom of my heart I thank you! Your post made me cry!
  10. I know I am really late, but would love to join if you all will have me. I know I will most likely not acheive the 60 miles, due to my schedule but I want to still participate in the challenge. The only time I will have time to walk is on the weekends, currently I do zumba late evening at home during the week. So I will walk as much as I can on the weekends. I did walk this past Sunday at the park while my boys played........4 miles.
  11. Yes, that scale is becoming addictive for me!
  12. As the weeks past I find myself weighing more and more. I used to read people post about weighing themselves a lot and remember saying that they are crazy why would they do that. Well I apologize to you all, because it is becoming addictive for me. I am not weighing everyday, but it is increasing from the 1x a week that was my original plan. And like most have said when it reflects a loss I'm super excited, but a gain ruins my entire day. I do only record my weigh on Thursday.
  13. I can defintely relate J...... the guy dumped me in January of this year and I still feel the pain, but I just want him to see my new and improved body when I lose this weight.
  14. I did not have the the best weekend with my choices of foods (although I did stay within my max of 1200 calories). Thus far I have not seen a change on the scale, but I feel horrible. I feel like I am losing control, I'm so hungry! Now that I am logging everything I eat I noticed how things that I once was low in calories, fat, carbs, etc are not. For example I always thought pecans were not high in calories so in order to not eat any unhealthy snacks and to control my hunger I decided to get a 2 oz cup of pecans from the cafeteria at work. I had a couple and went to log them on MFP and saw how many calories and decided not to proceed. Maybe it just the guilt from this weekend. I drank a atkins shake for breakfast and half a tuna sandwich for lunch today and I still fill like I am failing. I pray tomorrow will be a better day!

  16. I know that us August bandsters have are getting our first fills, but I was wondering if any of you have experienced gas since getting filled. I started getting terrible gas discomfort on the day of my fill, I'm talking post-op day 3/4 gas. Gas x does not seem to relieve either!!
  17. Hi Cakegirl, It's good that you felt restriction immediately, and congrats on the sudden loss. I had my first fill on Tuesday of this week and have been suffering with wicked gas after eating and it last for hours. I am too finding it difficult to get back in the groove of working out. I was like a pro at zumba, but now I just find myself jumping around for a few minutes then just standing there....LOL. Best wishes to you!
  18. I think there is a very noticable different...............especially in the upper body. Stay positive continue to eat healthy and workout. You have lost pounds maybe at this point the inches are coming off. You look good, girlfriend!
  19. My doctor told me to eat pureed foods the day I got my fill and then the following day I could eat regular diet. But I only ate liquids the day of.........and had mad gas after eating Soup for lunch. And currently still having gas right now! Also thank you for replying.
  20. I am from Houston, TX and boy is it hot here! Good Day Everyone!
  21. Finally weigh-in for September 29~ 264.4 I did not reach weight goal, but I did succeed at my exercise goal. For dietary I did better with carbs/sodium, but still struggling with getting protein. Only other change is my age I am now 32. I will be participating in next month challenge as well. Good Day Everyone!
  22. I had my first fill on yesterday and since after eating have terrible gas. This did not start happening to this magnitude until I got my fill. I had to pull out my gas x stash. And by gas this includes abdominal gas, burping, and farting. I promise right before posting this I had a continuous burp that I think last an entire minute. Did anyone have else have increased gas?
