Hey Jenn...how ya doing?? I go for my 3rd fill on the 10th of march...Ive had my period for 9 weeks...so my weight has been absolutely stuck!! stuck is a polite word!!LOL I go monday and see if my tonsils and adenoids will be coming out...so popscicles and Water will help slough off some stubborn weight!! Hope you are doing great!! I haven't officially weighed at Dr. Chuas office in months...I think since November...so we'll see what my loss is sitting at. Can't wait for spring to come, that way I can kick up my activity... I'm tired of being inside!!! Let me know how you're doing!! Becca

Looks like youre not getting in enough Protein.....the mashed taters and stuff seem easy to get down...and taste good....I did the same thing at times......but the carbs are only going to make you more hungry....try adding yogurt...which many have good protein content......cottage cheese well mashed....so many alternatives.... As for the fill.....you wont really know if you need a fill until you are past the mush stage....and on more solid foods.....because the mushy stuff and soft stuff quickly passes thru the stoma....I have 2ccs in right now....that was my first fill at week 6...and at times I can still eat quite a bit if the food is mushy or soft...my fill was placed during a port revision......i went for my first fill at 5 weeks....only to find that my port was completely flipped.....think my dog tore my stitches when she jumped on me....naughty girl..... Good luck....and listen to your doc.....he/she is there for advice and listen......after all its what we pay them for.... I am 7 weeks post op.... I had Dr. Chua.....he is great!!! I had my surgery on August 6th, and had a port revision last wednesday the 17th of September.(my dog jumped on me and flipped my port, tore out a stitch...only thing we can place how it flipped) I am down 42 lbs....and cant wait to keep going....I have already lost 25% of my excess body weight that I want to lose. Yes, it was Dr. Ernst.....I had heard from many wisconsin bandsters or those in the process that he mainly talked of his art work and wasnt really focused on his patients.....I saw Dr. Betsy Blair......she is very sweet....open...honest.....and a fantastic listener........my session was 1 session....55 minutes long....and she made me cry.....which I needed because I realized where some of my problems where. Are you being banded by Dr. Chua?? My surgery took just about an hour.......everything went great but my body didnt react well to morphine.......it liked it for pain...but it made me horrible nauseus and dizzy when standing. Just letting you know too.....that your pain will most likely all be located by the port......I didnt feel a single incision.......but my port area was achy and very tight....but was still no where as painfull as I had expected before hand. Christina....who was your pysch doc?? If its the one im thinking...hes prone to making you have further visits....he tends to be very poor at returning calls and forwarding needed info to the surgeons office.......hope you are lucky to not have him if this isnt the same guy......

Congratulations on your soon to be bundle of joy!! I was lucky with my pregnancies....only gained about 8 lbs with each baby.....starting at about the 7th month....last one was over 9 lbs 2 weeks early.....Hope you have a nice sized healthy baby!! They say thats one thing to be careful of with the weight loss....is that no matter what form of birth control you are on.....supply a 2nd.....because the loss of weight and the change in hormones will override any birthcontrol........turn ya into fertile myrtles...lol.... I cant wait for #3......but it better not be 11lbs.....they say they usually have the same weight jump differences as siblings.....i went from 7.5 lbs.....to 9.5 lbs.......I dont want to deliver an 11lb baby!!!LOL :paranoid Greatest of luck to those that are expecting....and greatest of luck to those trying! There have been a number of women that have had successful pregnancies with the band......one was pregnant and her doctor never even let her fill out....she was still eating enough and the baby was thriving. There is a pregnant band group.....only a few members...But they may have something great to say! you never know!! I also hope to have baby#3 after some of my loss......I dont want to spread mine out in age too far..... I dont have a problem conceiving....last one was conceived at 271 lbs......but I want my band and tummy to heal before we it happens.... IMO, although it was a well written article... I think the author could have done more extensive research. I was unhappy with her boast of things the woman with the bypass had rid herself of....her meds...high blood pressure...things like that.......and the comment about the woman with the band.....didnt really state anything positive. They could have focused on that with the band our losses are healthier over time....and that our window of opportunity really never closes.....Hopefully the next articles actually are played fairly between the surgeries.

This would be so great! I hope that it continues and gets completely up and running!! I like obesityhelp.com because of chat and message boards......but sometimes they are just so hard to read....or things move to quickly.... Would be nice to have different posting areas.....less confusion for newbies. Great job so far! Becky
