  1. Congrats!!!! You are doing awesome!
  2. Congrats! You are doing great!!
  3. Penpen, I agree with Fern. There were some things that were hard to deal with, but there wasn't anything I couldn't handle....and it passes. It gets easier and easier each day. I wanted to run too....I'm so glad I didn't!
  4. Thank you for all the encouragement! And thanks, Disney...I hadn't heard that before...but what compliment!
  5. I think just listening to my body has been my biggest thing. It really tells me when to stop and tells me what I don't like/need. I've had some food issues along the way. I can't really eat chicken or salad. (Previously, two of my favorites!) Beef really works for me and so does fish. I'm still working on getting all my Protein in, but overall food is finally becoming easier for me to eat. I'm trying to take all my Vitamins (I'm probably about 85% on that) and getting my fluids in. Now, I need to work on stepping up my exercise.
  6. I'm now 5 months out and I couldn't be happier. I've lost 82 lbs so far and though things have slowed way down, I am still losing and most importantly - NOT GAINING! It hasn't been an easy road, but I'm feeling better and better!
  7. Thank you for the comments. I think I just needed to hear it WILL come back. I have been taking Biotin, but I haven't always gotten all my protein in. I had a period of time that it was tough for me to eat and I couldn't stand the protein shakes....but it's all getting better. Well, the protein shakes never got better.
  8. I think I'm needing some words of encouragement today. I knew the hair loss was going to happen and I've been dealing with it pretty good, but today I'm feeling kind of yucky about it. I don't regret my sleeve at all and I happy with my loss (82 lbs since December 28th), but today lots of hair came out. So, I guess I just want to hear one of the board experts to say.....it will come back and I'm not going to go bald. Thanks for letting me get this little (and vain) frustration out of my system!
  9. Congrats!!! I'm so happy for you!!!
  10. I did a nice piece of jewlery. It wasn't something I would normally do and with my now showing collar bone...it made me feel even better! Do something you wouldn't normally do and that you can see as a constant reminder of what you've accomplished so far. I'll always have my necklace to remind me. Congrats!
  11. I've been very happy with being sleeved. I've lost 81 lbs since December 28th. I did have some problems with getting lightheaded...I think it was a consequence of my blood pressure going down. I hated the protein shakes, but I know that's just me. The only other bad thing that I've had going on is that I've had diarrhea since the surgery. I know that is probably TMI, but it's probably been the biggest problem I've had. I suspect this isn't normal at all and just a problem that I personally have. I've been referred to a GI doctor. That being said, I don't regret anything! Good luck!!!!
  12. I know exactly what you mean!!!! I'm right there with you! Congrats!
  13. You look great and congrats on being a RUNNER!!!
  14. You look awesome!!! Such an inspiration. I too have the tummy issues....but I wouldn't change a thing!
  15. That is wonderful. What an accomplishment in such a short amount of time!!! You are an inspiration!!!
  16. I'm so happy to see your response, Tiffykins! Eating is such a chore for me right now. I think something is going to taste good, and then I'm so disappointed when it doesn't. It makes it so hard to eat (I NEVER thought I'd hear myself say that!). I don't want to over induldge...I just want my little meal to taste good so I can get some nutrition! I'm glad there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
  17. I have premature ventricular contractions and my cardiologist gave me the ok for the surgery. No problems.
  18. I'm so glad someone asked this question! I'm a little over 4 weeks out and I'm having the same problem. Everything tastes off to me to the point it's difficult to eat much. I'm hoping food gets a bit more enjoyable....not that I want to over induldge, but I'd like to enjoy the little bit I eat.
  19. Thanks, Cheri. It does help to know it's not an unusual problem! Thanks for the tip!
  20. Ha! I was actually expecting more of that problem so I was a bit surprised in my current situation.
  21. It seems to be pretty much anything I eat or drink.....the Protein shakes, Soups, etc. I've ventured into some soft foods and the same thing. The food journal is a good idea. Thanks!
  22. I'm 4 weeks out from surgery and I'm down (unofficially) 38 lbs. I'm thrilled but I am having a bit of a problem getting my Protein in and food isn't real interesting to me yet so I know I'm not getting enough calories. All that said, I have a kind of embarrassing question....does anyone else have problems with diarrhea about 45 minutes to an hour after eating (either Protein shakes or food)? I'm so hoping this gets better. It's making it hard to stay hydrated. Also, for those of you that maybe had the issue of food not being so interesting.....does that get better? Thank you for any input!
  23. Oh, mine is all messed up! I started a couple days after I got home from the hospital....and it lasted about 2 1/2 weeks (not bad....but just annoying). Then it stopped and it was time for my REAL cycle. I'm sure it has to do with the surgery (I'm 4 weeks out). I'm on the pill and it keeps me very regular normally.
