  1. Happy Birthday CeeCeeFree!

  2. Happy 44th Birthday CeeCeeFree!

  3. I work in the building right next door to Cytosport, the company that makes Muscle Milk. My co-workers and I always try to guess what flavors they are working on each day based on the scent. When they are manufacturing, you can smell it for about a block in each direction!

I'm attaching this photo from my phone, so I hope it's not huge! I was sleeved the day before Thanksgiving. Down 60 pounds or so (my scale sucks!) including pre-op loss. My sleeve has changed my life soooo much!

How Do I Not Tell Anyone?

I'm three months out and haven't told anyone at work. Lots of people are noticing my weight loss, (60 pounds now, including pre-op) but also noticing the Protein and vegetable based meals I eat, my healthy Snacks, and they see me "checking in" at the gym several times a week via Facebook or Foursquare. When people have asked about my loss, I point to those things. I'm not an easy loser and I'm working hard for every pound. I dont feel like im being "dishonest" about what im doing. I feel like I'm one of those people who could easily stay heavy despite the sleeve if I wasn't working so hard. I don't feel like its my job or my place to be an example or a poster child for wls to anyone. I was back to work at 4 days post-op and had my surgery done over the Thanksgiving holiday, so i didnt miss more than a few days of work. I don't think anyone has a clue about my surgery. None of their business!
  6. I went back to work six days after my surgery (did a couple half-days, that first week back). I have a desk job so it wasn't too bad. Not ONE person other than my family has noticed I've lost any weight. it's so weird! I didn't tell anyone at work what my surgery was about, so I'm definitely under the radar!
  7. I am three weeks out and still have that sensation, too... It's more like a twinge or pinch in my muscle, close to the surface rather than deeper down in my abdomen. Sort of annoying, but I'm hoping it passes soon.
  8. I also planned my surgery over Thanksgiving, I ended up using two sick days and two vacation days in addition to the paid holiday time off I had. I went back to work a week after surgery. I have a desk job, so it wasn't a huge deal for me.

I am a week out from surgery and I had my first "outing" tonight with my beloved. We went to a local restaurant for dinner. I ordered a cup of potato soup, while he had a steak and salad and veg. I was as full and happy with the small amount of soup I was able to eat as I would previously have been with a big meal! I wasn't bothered by the sights or smells of any of the other foods either, which was a relief! Tomorrow I am going in to work for a couple of hours. I have a desk job, so I'm hoping I can do a little bit of work before I need a nap!

I'm using Protein shakes by CytoSport (the company that makes Muscle Milk) The EvoPro protein powder has 26g of protein per scoop and just 2 carbs and 2 fat. My nutritionist also okayed Muscle Milk Light powder. I also have CytoSport Complete Casein Protein Drink which is 25g protein. I was told to be sure and watch the protein vs carbs and fat. I like the cake batter and vanilla flavors. They are easy to doctor up with sugar free Torani and spices like cinnamon, etc, to keep things not as boring. I am one week out today and cannot wait to CHEW something soon!
  11. I was thinking the same thing! I've had no issue getting my liquids in. It's not like I'm chugging anything, but it's more than a tiny sip that I can manage. It still takes me plenty of time, so maybe they aren't all that big...

Is there an iPhone app that you can use to log in meals?

I'm using an iPhone app called "Lose It". It works wonderfully. There's also a scale out there that can be linked to the phone via Bluetooth.
  15. LoserMama. I also had low dose metformin for PCOS. I lost about 30 pounds pre-op and my team sent me home from the hospital telling me not to take it any more. my pre-op labs were really good and a lot of that had to do with my pre-op weight loss.
