I'm right there with you. I was three weeks out yesterday. Fluctuate between 212 and 213. Starting weight was 236. I'm still super excited though! Increasing my fluids. (As much as I can, lol). The stall isn't getting me down! We got this!!!

Single mom of an almost six year old. I’ve told a few people and everyone says I don’t "need" it. Classic cliché right? As if being 5"3 220-230 pounds is healthy. All I need to do is "diet and exercise". Well, I have been overweight since childhood, its not working!!!. My doctor told me that being the weight I am, I’m taking ten years off my life! How is that for a wakeup call.... I possibly want to have another baby and I definitely want to be a grandma one day.... Support system includes my BFF and a co-worker; we all be getting sleeved around the same time J

I'm a single mom of a 3 year old. I'm nervous about surgery but want to be here for him in the long run. His father is very support of my decision and since I don't have any family in the area he will take care of me post op.

DrmBig4Evr reacted to delta_girl in Corsets: Posture, Waistline, & Kink
    Just kidding. No kink.
So I had noticed that my posture is hunched over. I don't know if it has always been like that or it is new. Have I tried to "hide" the fat by hunching over? My shoulders are not held back, they are forward and slightly inward as if to protect myself. My spine is not straight, it is curved over. This isn't a medical issue, it is a psychological one that I had never noticed until I recently saw some candid photos someone else had taken of me. Maybe it was not as noticeable when I was big. I need to work on my posture.
I also lost my waist somewhere around 170 lbs many years ago. Instead of it being smaller than my chest and rear, my middle was larger. My hips are slightly smaller in proportion to my chest and my waist is not very defined.
Well...about two months ago I got a corset type of foundation/support/under garment. It has hooks and eyes and goes from right under the band of my bra almost to my hipbones. It was WAY too tight when I got it and it was a large!
I've seen photos of women who have corset "trained" their waists to be smaller. I'm not trying to be a nut case or kinky, I'm looking for some extra definition in that area. Yes, yes, yes ...weights and cardio, naturally ...but I'm trying this as well. I can't wear it for long periods of time yet, so I just have it on an hour or so a few times a week. I've also read that corsets and similar garments can help out with posture.
    The study has commenced.

I planned to slowly bring up my calories once I hit goal. I actually want to start eating at a slight caloric surplus everyday to build lean muscle... a bulking diet is you will. Follow that diet for about 12 weeks... gain about 15 pounds and then go back to a cutting style diet for a couple months.
I just want to make sure that my metabolism will creep up as I slowly increase my calories.

For women I would never want to do 2000 calories a day and those averages and aren't meant for individuals. The key is to get to your goal weight and slowly add calories and find your personal caloric intake to maintain.

DrmBig4Evr reacted to PdxMan in Did anyone not loose their hair - if so what did you do?
Hate to be a downer here, but I really believe those who don't lose a noticable amount of hair have genetics working in their favor. Why do I say this? Because I tried it all.
I was exercising like crazy, taking Biotin daily, getting in excess of recommended Protein and liquids. I took all my Vitamins and then some. (Fish oil, for instance) I was getting around 1,800 calories in daily, too.
What WAS happening was I was losing fat. It is MY belief that it is the hormones stored within the fat flooding the system that causes the increase in Hair loss. I say increase because we naturally lose hair every day, regardless of diet.
I started losing at 6 months out and it subsided around the 9 month mark. At 1 year out, you would have never known I went through it.
Do a site search on hair loss. This is probably the 3rd most common question/concern here. There are hundreds of posts about it.

I am a pretty inflexible guy. Always have been. However, my flexibility seems much better since VSG. Maybe from all the stretches before and after running.
Which instructor DVD would you choose and why?
Looking forward to all the benefits from relaxation yoga.

Hello all! I am a lurker and read most posts. I just want to lend a little encouragement if someone needs it. I had my surgery on April 24th last year. I started out at 297, lost 15 per surgery and am now 167 with a total loss of 130#. I still have 7 lb to go to reach my goal of 160. I am 5'8" And a size 10. I have tons of skin especially on my stomach. I plan to have a TT and breast lift with augmentation in September.

But this is a general overview. I hope you like it.

Well by my calculations you are about three weeks out. At this point I was only starting pureed foods. If I were you I would stick to soft foods for a little longer. I didn't have raw veggies for months only cooked. Just go slow and be careful. I ate alot of cottage cheese, tuna, soft fish, ground meats, canned meats, cheese strings, yogurt, eggs.< /p>
pineapple I say would be a big no right now, very fibrous and chewy.

Ok, now I see what you were saying!! About the caloric intake, the first few weeks I was getting on average, about 350 calories, that did increase, but during the entire six months I was in my losing stage, I only got between 550 and 800 calories. I was concerned but the doctor wasn't. My labs at 3 months were great and I was getting all my Protein in. I felt good, better than I had in years!!
