  2. @Bayougirlmrsc I agree with Dollgirl, especially about this site being a supportive group. For you to play God and put judgement on others is mind blowing to me. You are generalizing and putting everyone in the same category as perhaps those that abuse the system . God forbid if ever something devastating happens to your life and you need government assistance. And according to your words you have to work everyday so therefore you don't have the money to take care of yourself for a long period of time if you become disable or etc. If you have family to take care of you, I wonder would that be a burden? I'm not saying that family thinks a person is a burden, I think it's a wonderful thing when family cares and help. But just a passing thought since you mention burden. . There are plenty people that have worked decades and have paid taxes and perhaps unemployed or disable and etc. that suddendly needed well earned help. I could never stand people that think they are so above others and find themselves so superior. Look around you in this world and see all the people that have come down a level or two and perhaps homeless because of the economy. They too never thought they would be where they are today, bankrupt, homeless, losing homes, cars, or no health insurance, etc. and needing a helping hand. My point in all this is to stop putting people down because they need and don't have, and for you and others to stop acting superior. Because you never know what tomorrow will bring for you. * I could have made this a very nasty letter but I tried to make my point without going there. Because this site is a SUPPORT GROUP

  4. I'm 4 weeks out and my port area is hurting. I haven't had meds in weeks either. Mine feels like I pulled something. (like a tear) I couldn't understand it either since the pain just all of a sudden hit me. I thought maybe I over ate because I haven't lifted anything heavy. Hope you feel better
  5. I just started back coming on and I was wondering about you. Glad to hear from you again
  6. @ Thanks for posting I always pay attention to what you say. Now I know if you said it was easy, I can relax when I get mine. Good job on your 10%, keep it up
  7. @Whymomwhy- I think you might like this because you eat eggwhites and hotdogs. CHILI DOG EGG MUG From HungryGirl website Chili Dog Egg Mug Entire recipe: 190 calories, 1.5g fat, 998mg sodium, 15g carbs, 2g fiber, 4g sugars, 27g protein -- PointsPlus® value 4* An egg breakfast for all of the junk-food lovers out there. Skip the fast food -- make this instead. Ingredients: 3/4 cup fat-free liquid egg substitute (like Egg Beaters Original) 1 hot dog with about 40 calories and 1g fat or less (like Hebrew National 97% Fat Free), chopped 1/4 cup low-fat veggie or turkey chili 1 tbsp. finely chopped onion Directions: In a large microwave-safe mug sprayed with nonstick spray, microwave egg substitute and chopped hot dog for 1 1/2 minutes. Gently stir. Microwave for 1 minute, or until mostly set. Top with chili and microwave for 30 seconds, or until chili is warm and egg is set. Top with onion, and dig in! MAKES 1 SERVING * I cut this recipe in half and it was plenty and I also added a little more chili

  16. No you are not the only one. I have the same problem along with a slipped disc in my back. I wished I could do more walking without pain. Like Daisychains7 said, Water aerobics should be the best solution for us. I'm waiting for my incisions to heal so I can get in the pool. Small steps should help because you are moving. Good Luck and keep moving. This quote came to my mind while replying to you "If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward." MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.
  17. I asked the same question about pills. I started right away taking different meds that were different sizes, and all went down well, except one. I took a vicodin pill and cut it in half and that was the worst mistake I made. That was my first stuck episode and believe me I will not repeat that again. Make sure you take one at a time with a little Water. I usually wait about 30 seconds before taking another. I now take that gross B1, but I am 17 days post-0p. Some of my meds were larger than the B1, so you will be fine.

  20. I really don't know what to tell you to help your situation, but to my knowledge Medicare does not require 6 months. At least the state of Michigan where I reside. Unless there are different rules for different states. Good Luck
  21. I need help please, I force myself to eat 1/2 cup of food trying to get my Protein in and I'm not hungry. Water is an issue, maybe 45oz.aday . When I try to complete the 1/2 cup I can feel my stomach burning. Have I messed myself up by force eating? I'm tire of doing shakes to get my Protein in. I should have 40 grams of Protein for now and 70 later. Surgery was May 24th with no fill, so this is my second day of Puree food. I tried watermelon today, it was sooooo good but I was scared to swallow, because it requires a little chewing. So I spit it out, that hurt me to my heart LOL So how do I get Protein in, if it makes my stomach burn to try to eat 1/2 cup each meal?

  26. I know this is the 2nd best life changing decision I have ever made, next to being saved and having a personal relationship with God. Yet my stomach is turning trying to form into a knot. Putting pressure on my nerves in my stomach. As far as my head goes, I'm rejecting fast darts of fear coming at me strong, by dodging the thoughts and getting out of the way. Because if I start thinking negative I will then allow fear to creep in and take over the mass majority of my day. And damn if I've come this far with all the hurdles I had to go through to get to this point. So by me just writing this has snapped me back into digging down deep and giving me strength to overcome this threatening fear. God be with everyone having surgery this week and beyond. @Jannaboo we both can do this tomorrow @MandaElaine I'm a "punk" like you said about yourself too, when it comes to things like this. I can talk the talk now I have to walk the walk But I know if you can do it, I can too. So I will update Friday Thank you all for preparing me for what's ahead

  28. @Shoshanna "Get a boat and drown bait" I like that @Donna12 You are so right about normal activities, and yes it is scary about sleep apnea. But once you sleep with the cpap machine,, you will notice that you sleep much better without tossing and turning. You won't feel as tire the next day. I like your statement "Relay for life". You made me think of when I first started seriously going to church, and I would tell people I"m running for my life. Thanks for the flashback, that hit the spot. @Sojourner Very nicely said, that is so thought provoking. Your words of wisdom and encouragment surely penetrated my mind. I love this: " having an official "goodbye" to some of the foods and habits". Thanks All

  30. Withdrawal= the act or process of giving up something / the act of withdrawing, etc. Just sitting having images of things I truly enjoy that I have to give up .Either for good or for a short period of time because of surgery. For me it will be liquor, especially mixed drinks. Sandwiches, Pop, and my Chicago Hot Dogs from "Sonic" my Nathan hot Dogs . Potatoe chips. I guess you could say all the things that got me in the condition I am today. Most of all I'll miss "Fishing" for a couple of months, because after surgery I can't take a chance and throw out my reel and bust my stitches. So my summer hobby I can forget this year. Sorry my food demon is messing with my mind a few days before my surgery but I guess that was to be expected. I'm about to Pray this off of me then I would be alright. Anybody else have something they have/had to give up for a while, or for good?
  31. Hi and welcome, I'm not a smoker so I can't imagine the withdrawal ordeal you have to go through. I can only assume everybody on this site has to endure some withdrawal to overcome. (especially food) So get in line with a lot of people that is scared of something relating to this life change. I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I'm just trying to say that you are not alone. It's ok to have those feelings until you are comfortable with the decision in your spirit. Once you know and believe this is the best route to take, in order to further your life span being healthier, then you will be on your way. Just know that everyone here will reach out to you and help guide you through. So don't be scared to the point that you take a "U" turn from the purpose you went to that meeting and felt good about it. Good luck
