16 weeks and in a bad stall
I had a good discussion with my doctor about this last week. He said to remember that your body is losing even if the scale doesn't move. He said there are a lot of contributing factors that make up the scale "number" and not to worry if it doesn't go down. Especially if you are exercising and gaining muscle. To prove you are still losing take your measurements and compare them to previous weeks/months. But on a personal note I know how frustrating it can be. Been there done that! lol Good luck and congratulations on your success this far!

Before/After
Such a huge difference!!! You are doing awesome even if you have weak moments. You are human and just because you had VSG surgery doesn't make you super human! We all want to be "normal" again we just have to choose when to splurge and when not to. I agree with MeMeMeee save it for special occasions! Good luck and congrats on your progress this far!

hamburger??
Beef is the easiest for me to digest. I'm at 6 weeks out. Chicken is still a no go, but beef is great! So don't be afraid to try it!

Thinking about changing my goal
I totally get where you are coming from. I am prepared to stop where my body feels the BEST. Not where the chart says I should be. That is the whole goal of this surgery is to have a great quality of life. Awesome job on your weight loss by the way. All of you!

Slow weight loss is getting me down
Have you taken measurements? I know in the past if I've been at a stand still I will take my measurements and then I realize that although the scale isn't moving as fast as I would like then I could still "see" my progress. Even last week at one of my follow up appointments my surgeon suggested this. Good luck!

SCARED OF BEING DENIED??? i have a secret! PLZ READ

Anyone used Dr Wade Barker in Dallas???
I had my surgery with Dr. Barker on June 13th. I don't have any complaints about my surgery and recovery at all. The only thing is that I felt like since he has SO MANY patients I get kind of a rushed feeling. But saying that, it also made me feel good to know that he has done SO MANY surgeries and has many years of experience. Good luck!!!

What does 'full' feel like?
I am two weeks post op and am trying to figure out the same thing! Its a totally different feeling for me too and I never had a band. I'm not trying to go to the point of "hurt" but I would like to know what sensation I'm looking for!

Day 4 Post OP - farts and poop oh my
I was sleeved on the same day as you. My doctor told me to crush a Prilosec and take 1 a day for at least 3 months. So far I haven't had any problem with acid. Like you I had the whole G A S situation. All I can say is UGH. I finally started getting some relief yesterday. If you think you might be having an issue with acid I would ask your dr about an acid blocker. Good luck!!!

burning sensation post op day 3
I had my surgery Monday the 13th and I have the same thing! Its weird. The incisions don't bother me at all but about 3 inches below the largest one it burns like crazy. When i lay on my side i have to literally hold it to get some relief. Not sure what it is but I'm not too worried about it as it gets better every day. You are doing great on your fluids. I'm trying but I don't think I've made it to 40 oz yet and as for protein I'm only at about 15. That is getting better every day too, but I feel pretty darn good! Keep up the good work!!!

3 DAYS POST-OP GAS!!!!
Ok first off let me say I was sleeved on Monday the 13th. Everything went fine, they did do a hernia repair in the process which I feel has caused a bit more pain than just the sleeve would have and a few extra staples, yes I said staples....I thought I was only going to have steri-stips but in order for them to get to the hernia and repair it correctly I now have 14 staples sitting neatly in my belly. I'm ok with that, I already had scars from my gallbladder removal two years ago. I'm extremely fair skinned and do scar easily. Anyway, on to the reason for this post! I've had MAJOR gas! I think without the gas I wouldn't have had to have hardly any pain meds. But this gas is killing me! Its so much better today but funny thing is, now I can feel it rumbling around in my whole abdomen but I can't get any out! It just rumbles rumbles rumbles. I have been taking lots of walks, gas-x and deep breathing. I've done everything they have told me to do but I just can't pass any of it. Any advice???

post op day4
I am 3 days post-op and experiencing all that you are with the exception of the gas. I think if I could release some gas my world would be a lot better. I can feel it rumbling around in there but I just can't get it out. As for pain when you swallow, I have this somewhat. Its a kind of a delayed reaction and not immediate. It basically feels like I'm having a muscle cramp then goes away. I had to have a hernia repair at the same time so I thought maybe this might be some of the cause of the extra pain. Good luck, I think we are going to make it! lol
