  1. I also justify eating whatever I want because my BMI is 33(it use to be 36 a couple years ago) and it can't get below 30 or I won't be able to get the lap band. (Although I could still stand to lose 20 pounds and still qualify) But instead it has kinda become a license to eat whatever I want. Livingmydream, you are so right! I need to start changing my ways NOW! Plus, I think my husband looses some respect when I'm talking about getting lap band and how skinny I'm going to get while I'm stuffing my face with a cheeseburger and fries!!! i can't blame him, it is pretty crazy! Thanks for everybody's words of wisdom! I KNOW what I have to do, now i just need to DO IT!!!
  2. I'm glad I'm not totally alone. But I am going to have to change some things before I bust out of my clothes! I'm so ready for my band!
  3. I haven't gotten my lap band yet, but I'm planning to sometime in June. Because I know it's right around the corner, I have been eating like a crazy person!! I swear I have a bottomless pit, which brought me to need lap band in the first place, but I also eat tons of fast food and all kinds of other awful, yet very tasty, foods. I know this is so bad of me...I need to be preparing myself to cut way back, but instead I'm eating even more because I know I won't be able to later. Also, I've actually GAINED weight because I know during the liquid diet I will lose it all and with the lap band I will lose even more so it's like I'm having a major binge...that's never ending!! I am screwed up in the head!! Did anyone else go through this before you got your lap band or am I the only one who's jacked up???
  4. I haven't set my surgery date yet but I meet with the surgeon 5/26 to set one. I'm REALLY hoping I will have it done in June!!! My clothes have been getting tighter and tighter and I REFUSE to buy a bigger size!!! So I need this done in June so I can start fitting comfortably back into my clothes! P.S.- How did you make the weight loss goal line thingy that you all have at the bottom of your posts??? I need me one
  5. I have a closet full of goal outfits!!!! LOL!! Most of my clothes are too small for me right now. some are super small and still have the tags on them. I have been tempted to start shopping for future clothes but I just figure that will be a reward for me when I reach a goal. But I do have a goal bikini!!! Best of luck to you and I hope you are in that little black dress soon!!
  6. I thought it seemed pretty good. But this morning I just found out that if I pay with a credit card then it will cost me $11,500! And if I finance it through them, it will be 13.99% interest! Urrrg!! So either way, it will be more than $10,000 which is so discouraging!! If it seems too good to be true...it probably is!!
  7. My insurance will not pay for the surgery, so I will be paying out of pocket. I'm in Chattanooga Tennessee and the best price I have found is $10,000 from the Lap Band Institute. And this includes everything concerning the surgery but does not include fills (which are $125 each). Is this a good price?
  8. I'm in ya'lls (I'm from the south) same boat! I have told only my husband and a cousin. Not even my mom, sister or best friend know. We all have weight issues and I feel like if I tell them, they will say I'm taking the "easy" way and try to talk me out of it. Really they just want me to stay fat with them! I can feel their pain though. It would suck to stay the fatty while one of them was losing all their weight and looking good. But I gotta do what I gotta do!! And so do you!!! I plan to just keep it to myself until I've had success and then I'll give my secret away and hopefully they will eventually be able to have the surgery done too! Best of luck to ya'll
  9. A personal trainer will push you beyond plateaus. Also, I always do better in an exercise class like yoga, spinning, zumba...anything where there's a group. It makes me work a lot harder when I think others are looking at me If I'm alone I tend to be a lot easier on myself. Best of luck!
  10. So I've been wondering if after I get Lap Band, will I be weak and shaky from eating so little? I'm use to eating quite a bit and whenever I skip meals or eat very little I get jittery and feel so lethargic. Has this happened to anyone after getting your lap band? Will my body just adjust to less food after awhile? Also, I plan to hit the gym and it just seems like I may not have very much energy...not that I have a lot now...Just wondering what I should expect!
