  1. you look simply amazing..it's a very beautiful wedding day for you both!
  2. My NP just took a suture kit and took out the ones sticking out.
  3. week one follow up...kept telling the NP i was sooo light headed and dizzy ...B/P was 90/60...YIKES..it was up to 170/100 before meds so the benicar HCT i was one is gone now and my b/p is 128/70 last night. Very happy to see that med go. I thought it wouls take a long time but really it's been 25 pounds and a week. Good luck!
  4. perfectly said Tiff. She is right, if you care for this girl talk to her, let her know how you feel and see how she reacts. Tell her things will change with your body and eating habits and see if she will support you...if after a year you and her are not compatable, any numbers of things may have happened over that time. Good luck to you!
  5. thank you for this...I took my bariatric advantage b12 today for the first time...jumped into the shower and finished, dried off and it still was under my tongue...i wondered if anyone else had this issue. Glad mine is once a week too!
  6. the nut told me if you don't get in the right amount of Protein in....you will loose your hair. I'm not sure what else you can do now but increase your protein. Good Luck!
  7. I totally agree with all of them. I was on a strick 2 week pre op and went out with a bang of skyline chilli the night before surgery. I asked the doc and he said my liver was perfect...DO NOT CANCELL ...id not even tell them personally! Lol
  8. I'm looking forward to some answers here too. I was thinking chicken/tuna/egg salad in a small bowl. Cottage cheese and fruit and some greek yogurt too.
  9. I have the same type of question and this is my own humble opinion. I recieved 2 lovenox shots in the hospital...to prevent clots. It's a blood thinner. I'm on depo shots and have not had a cycle for years and started up 2 days after surgery...UGHHHH what a pain. but this is my reasoning..the blood thinners. The wed site i went to said a side effect of it is>>>"<LI itxtHarvested="0" itxtNodeId="310">increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding" so if you got a blood thinner..maybe that is why.
  10. i'm so sorry your not feeling better yet. I also found a lot of walking helped quite a bit...moved and stretched the muscles i was not using and helped me sleep better. I found lots of pillows seems to make it ok to sleep. Might want to just call your MD and see if they have some advise for you to help you over this. good luck!
  11. way to go Nurselisa22! You will be an RN in no time...congrats! Big sexxy...doing so much better now.first week was bad but better thanks!
  12. I am also an RN..and like TLC's VSG I'm in the IS department helping create the electronic medical record for my hospital. Love doing this job!! YEAH NURSES!
  13. I'm an RN and watched the whole thing. It was one of the most straight forward procedures I have seen. Cut and dry...per say. Just focus on your health and good luck!
  14. My doc prescribed pills in the hospital then I got an infection and he prescribed bactrim DS. Its HUGE. As bit as my index finger tip. Breaking it in half still made me cringe but they went down. The only funny part...the pharmacist said to take them with a little food..like crackers...lol on day one of the pills, I started day one of pureed foods...NO crackers. I thinks all docs are different and its your choice but I'm surviving just fine.
  15. I was vomiting in the hospital also. They told me after that it caused a LOT more swelling. It felt like someone punched me in the chest with each Water sip! IT GETS BETTER I SWEAR!! Time will help, each day you will feel better, take it slow and keep trying on the fluids! Good luck!
  16. I had a BMI of 40 going into the operation. I heaved and did so for 5 hours until i vomited after surgery, thus swelling the entire insides, making it very painful just to sip water. 4 days after surgery i have an infection in one of my incision sites and am taking by mouth HUGE antibiotic pills. I have very little energy and hope the lump above my infection incision is not a big deal. Every person is different and you will never know what will happen untill you have the surgery. BTW dispite all, I'm glad i had it and do not reqret it.
  17. so glad your on the losers bench with us! I gained a few iv fluid pounds in the hospital also. Sorry your having so much paina nd i hapy you feel better soon!
  18. thanks Fern, that was one of the options i thought of...since I have a scar on my hand which has scar tissue that formed aroung it years ago..maybe i'm prone to it.
  19. ok so saturday night (4 days after surgery) my largest incision site (near my belly button) was warm and red. Lucky my surgeon take pics on his blackberry and looked it over the phone...said wait 24 hours and resend a pic. Sunday night it was late and i sent him the pics and by monday i am now on the BIGGEST antibiotic i have ever seen! Breaking it in half it's still huge . (to all those who say when can i take a pill...your body can physically take one now i guess) I have to put antiboitic cream and gauze on the site. The good news is my nut let me progress to pureed food to up my bodies ability to fight this mess. I have also found a lump above the site about 2 fingertips across and the doc said, just let me know if it gets bigger....any one have a clue what it might be. I'm a nurse and i have visions of all sorts of bad things..but wanted to know if anyone had this happen before? thanks for any help!
  20. don't feel bad about not haveing a food funeral. We all should not have any (my nut said..start today with healthy eating)..but i ended up having some yummies the night before pre-op. As the saying goes...nothing tastes as good as thin feels! Your doing the right thing making good choices now. We all have some sort of worry or buyers remorse during the initial phases and i rarely hear anything negative when they say I have lost 100 pounds! Your tastes will change and your desire for food decreases or is all together gone so your desire for your old favorites might just go away. I'm in the 1 week post op liquid phase and am looking forward to applesauce....silly but can't wait! Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress!
  21. my nut said no baby food, since they can add sugers and such to the foods. I would perfer to ahve real food blended..but ti's my opinion
  22. Hello and good luck on your surgery. I am also lactose intolerant and if you use a100% whey protein isolate, it's lactose free. there are a lot of them out there, just look up "whey protein isolate and lactose free" on google and i found a lot. Good luck on your search and on the surgery!
  23. I have a question, my doctor has a specific plan pre-op with packaged meals ( medifast packets ) and i might use the jello (with protein) but have no use nor want to keep the remaining packets. Anyone know of a good use for them or anyone need these? Send me a message.
  24. Becca, it's funny because my daughter ( also named Becca) is gettng married in October and i gave her my wedding dress, I am going to have to find a new one to match my new body. I"m excited about that possibility and was happy to help out my daughter with my gown.
  25. I'm with everyone else..the hospital gave me tylenol tabs to take the evening after surgery (since liquid lortab caused vomiting) and then a PPI (2 pills) the next morning! I don't get the not taking them but each doc is different
