  1. Printed - thanks
  2. I like the Unjury. Others swear by Isopure mix but I think the sample I got wasn't a full serving or something.
  3. I went to the grocery store and stocked up on "clear liquids" for when I get home - now a trip to Walmart for a granny gown, sports bra and strechy clothes to wear in TJ after the operation and I'm all set
  4. YES! Then again, I don't strip down at the Dr's office - I don't even remove my shoes at this point. But it's still about 5 pounds more than my home scale and I know my shoes don't weigh 5 pounds.........
  5. I have read that the lapband can actually improve GERD. I think Dr. Ortiz's book says that. BTW, Tulip - is that your pug? I'm a proud (crazy?) owner of 4 of the little buggers
  6. Heck, I think I'd probably save $100 in food if I got my first fill at 6 weeks instead of 3 months Thanks for the info.
  7. Fills aren't very expensive, are they? Can you pay for one yourself? I'm all self pay - I guess I'm glad since I don't have "wait" requirements.
  8. March 19th maybe? My surgery is scheduled for March 5th and I leave for Europe April 24th. I'm hoping they'll fill me after 5 weeks so I can have 2 weeks "recovery time" before I go out of the country. If not, I'll probably wait until I get back. I don't want a fill and find out there's an issue when I'm 10's of thousands of miles away.
  9. Oooh - so Dr. Miranda will let me have a last "real" meal? Any suggestions on where to go in TJ?
  10. I'm on a liquid protein pre-op diet. I'm supposed to lose 5% of my weight (which would be 10 pounds). That's just not going to happen
  11. I started my 1 week pre-op diet 2 weeks pre-op because I knew I was going out to dinner last weekend. I didn't OVEREAT but I sure as heck enjoyed it. I have a family dinner the Saturday before I leave on Sunday for Mexico but I can eat salad and no one will say anything. They don't know, but will be happy to hear I'm "on a diet" Oddly, on the liquid pre-op diet, I'm gaining weight - must be last weekend's dinner
  12. I bought the chewy ones. I guess I'll grab the Centrum chewables instead
  13. I THINK I'm finally adjusting. I had Atkin's this AM am I'm still full. A filet and a cake would still taste REALLY good right now
  14. I will also be flying from Mexico to GA. I bought some elastic pants from Lands End I'm hoping will work and I'm bringing some of the
  15. I love the unjury and ordered full containers after trying the samples. I'm going to pick up some Isopure at GNC tomorrow as I think the samples I got from Vitalady had the wrong instructions of mix (they said it was a full serving, but it only mixed with 4 oz of water). The Unjury chicken broth is surprisingly good and I plan on taking that for the plane trip to and from Mexico. I got some of the Atkins RTD last night and had it for Breakfast and I'm still full 4 hours later
  16. I am March 5th also. Anyone else going to Dr. Ortiz?
  17. I am MISERABLE. Surgery is the 5th. I keep thinking to myself, if I could drink just protein drinks for a couple of weeks at a time, I wouldn't need a LAP BAND! But I know it's for the greater good, so I keep sluggin' them down
  18. Ugh - that's where I am now. Pre-op dieting. I HATE protein drinks.
  19. Ugh, OK - the orange clear Isopure is nasty (IMO). I chased it with some Ritz crackers, which of course I won't be able to do right after the band. It has some kind of "coating" effect on your mouth. Hard to describe. But I guess that's how they get 40 ounces of Protein into a 16 oz bottle and it's clear. However, it IS filling, lol, and at some point, I will be so hungry/thirsty I will probably think it's like a filet mignon
  20. To each their own
  21. That's for the powdered Splenda. The calories/carbs actually come from whatever it is they use to make it into a powder form. You can order liquid "Splenda" with zero calories/zero carbs. http://www.sweetzfree.com/ It lasts forever. I've had the same bottle for at least 3 years now. Two drops in coffee and I like my coffee VERY sweet
  22. I'll check out the Vitalady site - thanks! I ordered the sample pack from bariatriceating.com and have realized that I really like chocolate and vanilla but not the creamy fruit flavors. I hold on to the bags of the stuff I like so I can reorder. Boost is also good and RTD. I like RTD - I don't have any patience when I'm hungry, lol.
  23. Dang, the bottles? I went to the GNC outlet we have near me and it was $3.99 a bottle of the clear liquid. I bought just a few to taste. These are the no carb ones with 40 grams of Protein. They only had the powder in the big cans but she said they have a 30 day return policy so if I try it and don't like it, I can bring it back. I've been "testing" Protein drinks before my 1 week liquid diet and then the liquids after being banded in March.
  24. I am 100% for sure getting a breast life/reduction and depending on what my stomach looks like, a possible tuck. But the boobs are going to be redone - even if I WASN'T getting banded and losing weight.
