just think in the old days many of us would have finished that whole meal off at the table - plus tons of breadsticks and salad - a few drinks - and maybe even a dessert!!!! LOL - amazing how things change. Happy belated birthday!!!

Hi, Tuesday was my birthday. I just finished my 3rd and last meal from the dinner. We went to Olive Garden. My hubby decided he didn't want to share my meal, so whatever I ordered was mine. I ordered stuffed chicken breast (stuffed with cheese),that came with mashed potatoes. I was able to eat about 2 bites of potatoes and 2 bites of chicken. I did not want to over eat. I, also, since it was my birthday, had a "skinny" margarita. I probably enjoyed that more than dinner!! But, anyway, made dinner on Wednesday, and tonight. I know that the meal wasn't really a good choice, but it was my birthday and I have lost 100 lbs in 2 1/2 years. So I am not too guilty! Take care, folks, this is the long haul and we can do it. Eat like a SKINNY person, too! Karen

My doctors office just called and set my surgery date for Tuesday 7/31! I cannot believe it...I have to start my pre-op diet now...but it's high Protein, low carbs, low/no suger(south beach). I'm so excite but now I have to take time off of my new job (just got a promotion from a teacher to a counselor). And then I'm not really sure what else I have to do....

I never gave up coffee.. I drink at least one or two cups a day. I couldn't give it up, but it really isn't the end of the world if you don't. I have a keurig as well, but put ground coffee in the reusable cup. I mean really if you count up the calories and fat, it's barely anything! The coffee itself is less than 10 cal (I think it's like 2 cal per 8oz?) and if you use the powdered fat free coffeemate light, it's 10 cal per tsp and i use Splenda or equal which is 0. So...maybe 30ish cal? I'm not too worried about that.

Glad I can help those who want to hear the word!! I don't care who does not like me speaking about God on this Forum!! Its my duty to make people aware of God and his awesome works!!

i was so excited to cross my legs (about 3-4 months after surgery) that i did it all the time no matter what!! such a novelty~!~~

I also tell anyone who specifically asks me how i lost the weight about the surgery - everyone at work knows - but here's the thing - i did that on purpose specifically because i know myself very well and would never want anyone to give me a look let alone say something to me about eating something wrong - so it's like my own private insurance policy - i KNOW i will not eat anything "wrong" in front of others because i KNOW i can't stand looks/comments. It's worked perfectly and 135+ pounds in just over a year later - i know it was the right approach for me.

Like some have already stated, I'm a big yo-yo, up then down and then start all over. Since the daeth of my wife in 2002, I have constantly gained then lost, but I don't consider this depression that caused for me to gain weight. I did on my own.
Then early this year, my sister who works for Allergan, brought home a proto-type lapband that her company makes with plenty of reading material about the process of Lapband and some of Allergan's findings. I was sold and now I'm waiting for my band date of Aug. 6.
