  2. LOl yep traveling... Flew out to see my Mom in CA. Thought no big deal..I will just take some protein powder to mix in water and then I could get some yogurt to eat in the airport... I am in the mushy stage. I soon ifgured out that getting protein powder into a bottle of water is impossible. Finding yogart in an airport... Well I finally found some with pomegranate... and seeds... can't have the seeds. After searching all over I finally bought a breakfast burrito and ate some of the scrambled eggs inside of it. Went most of the day with just water. Getting ready to do the same thing tomorrow going home. Khy
  3. You look fantastic! Keep it up! It is truly a blessing that you have such a good friend! Khy
  4. Oh I m so happy to hear you are doing so well with this! Congratulations! Keep working that sleeve! Khy
  5. That is good to hear. I wish you much success with your surgery. Please let us know how it all turns out. Khy
  6. LOL well my take on it... Men live as long as they do because they are married to women. Women live longer because they don't have to carry around the heavy male ego. Khy
  7. Khy replied to sarahh1828's topic in The Gals' Room
Was thiking about the nipple percing thing but decided I need to wait a little longer so all incisions are healed. Khy
  8. You might want to call the office and tell them your situation. These Docs earn their living by doing surgery. They would hate to have a hole in the surgery schedule. Khy
  9. Well on the outside about 10 days. I don't think everything is healed on the inside though because at my 2 week post-op appointment I was told no heavy lifting and still no weight machnes at the gym. Khy
  10. When I mix my Protein powders with milk, they are harder to get down and I do get tired. I don't know what it is but I always feel tired after I eat regardless of high carb, low carb, fat or none. My brother who is normal weight told me eating has the same affact on him. Khy
  11. Thanks... work that 3/4 shimmy
  12. More suggestions would be Powerade Zero, tomato juice, 4 oz of fruit juice a day.. you can dilute this and make it 4oz of fruit juice and 4oz of water. Khy
  13. I went to my first Belly Dance class last night since I have been sleeved. Granted it was cabaret and I have done mostly ATS. I felt like a complete idiot. I could not find my balance! Will it be like this as long as I am losing weight rapidly? Besides that... I have found that my stamina is gone. I was sweating and panting wh en I shouldn't have been. How long do these things last? Khy
  14. You are right! Best let the Dr. check it out. Khy
  15. I guess that depends on what your Aetna says. I had Aetna but I didn't have a letter of medical necessity. I had records of my weight from the PCP but that is about all. I would say file without it. Aetna will let you know if they want or need such a thing. Khy
  16. Try Chike. It tastes ok to me. Or Protizyme peanut butter cookie. Are you sure you want a plication or the sleeve? Khy
  17. Not back to work yet but I was thinking some little containers of ricotta bake. Protein shakes, Refried beans blended into consume, Home Made Vegetable soup pureed. I will still be in the mushy stage when I go back to work. It will have been longer than 4 weeks but they could not fit me in at the Dr. so I have to go over 4 weeks until I am advanced to solids. Khy
  18. Yes the liquid in your protein shakes counts toward your liquid intake. Truly unflavored protein? Maybe someone else can help you there. I haven't found one but then I have tried a lot of unflavored ones either. Khy
  19. Wow what a difference! Pat yourself on the back. You look wonderful! Khy
  20. You might try mixing your shakes with milk. That will help a bit with the calories. Try small amounts of fruit juice. You are definitely in our thoughts. Keep us updated on how you are doing. Khy
  21. Toward the end of the second week I started feeling hunger toward the end of the day. Some refried beans blended into beef broth or consume took care of it. You need to restrict the amount of that you drink though. It is not as high in protein as the shakes and it is a little high in carbohydrates. Khy
  22. Yes I think everyone goes through this. For me I have lost about 20 lbs including the 5 pre-op. I look at myself in the mirror and I think surely I should be able to see 20lbs off... Nope stomach as big as ever, arms and thighs as big as ever. But I keep on keeping on. If I keep losing it eventually will have to show up somewhere. I want to lose that belly so bad that last night I dreamed that I did. LOL Khy
  23. You will do it! With the help of the sleeve all those fun things you want to do will be possible! Kayaks... love them.. so much easier than a canoe and horses.. I used to love to ride but that was many years and pounds ago. It will be possible for both of us down the line. Khy
  24. Khy replied to LindaS's topic in Rants & Raves
Yeah my son, to whom I had not explained much, asked the day after I got home "This wasn't supposed to be an instantaneous weight loss surgery... was it?" I could read his mind.. "She ought to get her money back!" Khy
  25. Another worthless topic without pics! Khy
