  1. Went to Richmond -- the doctor was RUDE ! After exam, she told me that my weight was evenly distributed and that they like to perform procedure on individuals in their mid 40's and I was much older than that so I was not a good canidate ! I am so mad ! I meet all the criteria EXCEPT her personal opinion ! So now I will wait until I have tons of medical issues and friggin die slow --- I can't get rid of the weight, the weight is causing medical issues and KAISER won't do a thing about it ! I was electing to have the sleeve -- How is your experience?
  2. Have you been to the orientation with the surgeon yet? The first step at Kaiser is to watch a power point presentation with a lecture and ask your doctor for a referral.
  3. From the comment your husband made that you are the prettiest woman in the room when you went to dinner with him .... It sounds like he will be supportive and very happy that you are making a decision that is healthy for you ! You need to tell him so that he is a part of the journey in your life and not left out ... He loves YOU -- he just wants the best for you and for you to be healthy. Tell him over a glass of wine and a smile ! Show him your excitement !
  4. Even if you are slow at the weight loss there is STILL a weight loss !
  5. I have my first appt with the surgeon, psych doc, nutritionest on 4/27 ... I was told that the surgeon askes you to loose some weight prior to the banding so that the liver will be reduced in size. I have also been told that the weight that you are loosing now counts towards that but then I have been told that it doesn't. I am very anxious to see what is actually the real story. Will you post after your 4/22 visit so all of us other Kaiser Richmond banders will know?
  6. My doctor referred my right to the 2 hour class in Folsom. The appt with the surgeon is just part of the orientation to see if Kaiser will accept me for the surgery.
  7. I went to the local 2 hour information class and I requested my doctor to refer me to the Clinic out of Richmond. My PCP made the referral this week and I was called by the Clinic at they have scheduled me for the 4-5 hours orientation with the surgeon, nutritionist, pych doc, and case manager for the end of this month. I am just scared that I will get to that stage and be told no.
  8. I have been referred to an orientation at Kaiser Northern CA and am concerned that I will be told that I am not heavy enough when I get there. My BMI is at 35.2 with my stomach measuring 45 inches. I am shaped like an apple. Have anyone been turned away from Kaiser orientation for not being heavy enough?
