  1. Welcome to the bench :-)
  2. In the plication non of te stomach is removed, in the standard sleeve 85 percent of stomach is resected (removed) there are some emitted to it. "grehlin" tge hirmon responsible for hunger signals to the brain are secreted in the portion of stomach that is removed. There by in theory removing the hunger mechanism. I am only 2 weeks out from a sleeve an there is no hunger. However the theory is also that pressure against the stomach lining stop secretion, so tge pressure of being folded and sutured keep production at a low.
  3. Gastric sleeve and sleeve plication are two differant surgeries. In the sleeve 85 percent of the somach is removed creating a sleeve. In the plication the stomach is folded in on itself and sutured in that position to creat the sleeve. There are pros and cons to both
  4. Welcome insideout: Good for you and making a hard choice to take control of your life and move to a healthy happier place. There will always be people that think this or that, but really who freakin cares!? They don't gave to live in your skin! Ignore their ignorance and enjoy becoming a healthier version of you! I so get the food thing. When I was preparing for mine (may 10th in Mexico as well) I began to notice how much I turned to food, it really was eye opening. Since surgery (and the one week preop diet) I am down 36 lbs!!! 3 pant sizes and a shirt size! Best thing I have ever some for myself! It is not an easy road, but heck I wish it was, and if it were or even is sometimes, thank God there is enough hard things in life to face! Stay focused, look forward to the thin you finally being seen!
  5. There's follow up? Seriously, I am only 2 weeks out and don't have any particular plans for follow up care. If I have an issue then I'll deal with it. But as for now I am not planning any follow up. I even removed my own stitches
  6. I was just there on the 10th of may, you'll do great, in good hands.
  7. Wooowhoooo! That is fantastic!
  8. @raine Well I have been heavy since I was a kid, if I'm completely honest here I would have one of my greatest NSV's if I ever get to where some woman is checking out my butt! That would probably get even me to cry lol. @kemo, You wi my friend! You gonna be in great hands, and the losers bench is gonna welcome you with open arms. Keep us posted! When is your date again?
  9. Thx raine: I am amazed at how well things are going. I had prepared myself for all the complications and slow loss, the pain and fatigue, so far I have just been great! And I have lost 35lbs as of this morning! I need to get a ticker. Things that I think are helping I am up moving all day everyday, I got home last Friday night the 13th of may, I have not laid around at all. Up out of the house all day everyday. I am sipping liquid all day, I'm not getting a ton in, but constant small amounts. I bought some "emergenC" drink Powder. It is tons of vitamin C and B complex, I try to get one in at least every other day. Dont know if it is helping but don't think it is hurting. And "attitude"'yes I think it matters. I have not once regretted this, not dwelled on what I can't have or such. I am staying positive and excited about this new adventure and life. But that is kinda me anyway. My cup is generally overflowing and stuff is rapidly condensing into it. :-).
  10. Yup, I'll take the butt pain over fat anyday. I'm have been dropping so fast that it's hard to even process
  11. I already have a custom seat had it cut molded gelled, the works. So gues I'll just get used to it lol.

  13. Well, I am not getting enough of anything in. I am struggling to get enough liquid and protien in. 30-35 oz is the most I have gotten in on any day. And until today 20 gems protien. Though today I have gotten 30 gr protein in. But my liquids have suffered. Fortunately I have not been tired or anything.

Because I couldn't get anything in yestarday hardly. I am down 33lb today in 17 days!!! Since I started preop. Fires up about that. So far no vomiting, no nausea no real pro lens. Woot! B

  17. Well, I did a 5 day full liquid, then 3 days clear only then surgery 6 days ago. But yes that fast. I have no idea if it is normal. I will say I have not sat still since the second day after surgery. And since I got home Friday I have been up and going all day everyday.
