3 weeks out....what to eat now?
"I also thought of that too. and its perfectly logical. it has to be. i'm learning more about my body everyday. because we all heal differently, which says to me that I'm in good health as far as healing after surgery. Thank God... but Today I was able to handle my eating without any discomfort. I know that a very little bit does me good. I've lost 35 lbs so far. its been 4 weeks now. I think I will do fine about my new way of eating. I'm in this for the long term, so I just want to take my time and let the fat fall off. I also exercise daily and I really enjoy that. i am very glad I had it done. My health is surely getting better. http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wovbLdc/weight.png[/img]

Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Information by Dr. Gregg Jossart
I really Thank you for the updated info:thumbup:.. I had it done on l4/14/2010 and I've lost 32 lbs so far. I can eat almost anything but I choose to follow my Dr's diet and Always try to choose the right foods. I exercise daily. I want to know if I have stretched my sleeve because it is allowing me to eat more food in the past 3 days. I'm worried because I don't eat junk. Also I try to eat 6/7 times daily and its always something healthy/. Fish ,Chicken or turkey are my choices for meat. I eat turkey chili, egg whites, salad with veggies, tuna , sweet potato, spinach, collard greens, salmon , cod , shrimp , spaghetti w/ wheat pasta. I measure my food, I try to count calories but it gets hectic for me. I want to be the biggest loser!!!:lol0: I only eat 3-4 oz at a meal. maybe 5-6 oz now. I'm scared:scared0:.. Please help me understand more

3 weeks out....what to eat now?
I'm eating soft food now and I scared...:tongue_smilie: the reason is my sleeve does not hurt anymore.. so its really up to me to choose the right foods and control my portins. it allows me to eat more now. I can eat about 4-5 oz without pain:blink:. I notice when i eat fast , i feel like throwing up. I can't drink while I eat at all. I'm learning the eat slow method . I guess i'm learning all of it and that a good thing. I exercise daily. Walk., swim, work out videos and more. I enjoy working out every morning. I've lost a total of 32 lbs since I got my sleeve. WOW.... That is amazing!!! I'm scared because I keep thinking I may be stretching my sleeve since it allows me to eat more. What are the symptoms of a stretched sleeve??. HELP ME... I am so confused on that .:bored0:

no loss for almost 2 weeks, help please...
Well my Emotional Rollercoaster has stopped. I got my staples out and I saw the Dr. He said i was losing weight really good and that my progress was "above average". I began at 289 , now I am 261. WOW... Its been exactly 2 weeks today. He wants me to walk as much as I can. He hasnt approved me for swimming yet. No lifting over 10lbs. Stay on current diet of pureed foods for now. My next check up is in 3 weeks and I should have soft "regular " foods then. Overall I feel GREAT!:lol0: I have not taken any medication this week. I was taking 20+ pills a day , just to live. ( High blood pressure and more.) No c-pap machine since surgery or Sleep Apnea. He said that is gone. So many positive things that I am so grateful that i had the courage to do it. I have more energy and I walked a 1 hour with my dog , mylo:001_cool:. He was looking at me like "stop showing off" LOL. He got tired before me. LOL:lol0: I would advise everyone to give it time and follow the rules and the weight will come off and stay off. Mix up your food routine a little and you have to excercise. I can finally say that it is working for me. i'm ready to go on a real rollecoaster. I feel like going to Busch Gardens. I only live 1 hour away. I can fit in the seat now. :lol0: I think!!! anyway Good luck everyone.

My thoughts from Week #2 Post-Op - Little Miss Sunshine has left the building!
Thanks so much for your comment. You hit the nail on the head!!!~ I'm going through the same emotional rollercoaster. I had surgery 11 days ago , 24lbs lighter and I have been so depressed and confused for the past 2 days. I'm not really worried about loosing weight because i know I will in time. I worry that my sleeve is damaged and broken. LOL.... Nothing has happen to make it damaged, I just "think " that . Its mental. I constantly ask my husband if I look sick and I am really moody with him and the kids. I feel so much better knowing that I am not going through this alone. So many post says the things I am feeling. I'M NORMAL!!!! Whew... , Thats a big thing to me. I will continue to follow the diet and eventually I will be cleared to excercise and swim. I can't wait ! The Staples come out on Tuesday 4/27/2010. I should feel better when I see the DR . I have many questions for him and his staff.

no loss for almost 2 weeks, help please...
I just got back from weighing myself . It said I lost a pound. But I am very emotional today . I keep crying and i am afraid to eat. but i know I have to . I keep thinking i may have damaged the pouch by eating soft foods early than told,. It may be the guilt that i'm experiencing or just plain CRAZY. There is no turning back so I must keep my head up and keep going. Maybe I will walk today with my dog .

no loss for almost 2 weeks, help please...
omg please help US find a answer. I had surgery on 4/14/10 and since then I ve lost 24 lbs and it has not moved down. i just think we need to be a little patient and relax, Keep doing what is right. Your body must be in shock and trying to figure it out. Some people takes weeks / months to loose 34 lbs and you will loose weight but when its time . I feel your pain.

2 weeks post op
hi everyone . I had the sleeve on april 14th,2010 10 days ago and i only have incision pain from them healing really good. They itch!! . No problems with the sleeve so far. I get the staples out on tuesday,4/27/10. and i can't wait. My moods are funky and I am very confused. I lost 24lbs since surgery and I feel great about that but I am having some bouts of depression.. I am glad I done it but I guess I miss my favorite foods. I am on the soft /pureed diet and I try to measure my food everytime I eat. Really I afraid to eat, but I eat anyway. I want to know what to look for when something goes wrong. (i.e leakage) also my menstration came on again today. It was just on , 4/12/2010. why is that? My body is freaking out... I'm ready for the change but scared at the same time.:crying:

I made it
I had gastric sleeve surgery on April 14th 2010. I had NO complications at all. i stayed in the hospital for 2 days . I left on a full liquid diet . After 7 days i had permmission from my Dr to add some soft foods. I had lost 24lbs in 7days!!! WOW...It scared the mess out of me. I could not believe it. I can "feel " a difference in myself. Friends say they see a smaller kymmi. I am in La La Land... Iam so happy that I did it. i realize that i will have to stay real for my weight to drop down. I need to loose about 100lbs . I was 289lbs on surgery day. Today I am 266lbs... I 'm learning everyday how to eat and what to eat. I'm learning to chew food throughly and eat very slow. I don't enjoy drinking , I prefer to eat popcycles or eat ice chips. This is so cool.. I love it! Welll I came her to met people of all backgrounds and develop some positive friendships . I will need everyones support to help me succeed in this weght loss journey. Thank you for being apart of my "History" .
