I find that baby dill pickles really satisfy my potato chip craving. Salty and crunchy. Sometimes I grab a few when dinner isn't for a while and need that little something to hold me over.

I do swimming as well. I just added yoga to my routine and am really liking it! I actually am stronger than I think. Today I was planking!
My nutritionist recommended to keep the metabolism going is "muscle confusion" so if you shake up what you are doing and what muscles you are using, it will keep your metabolism on its toes so to speak. What I like is that it gives me more variety so when I go back to the treadmill, I have a renewed enthusiasm for it!
Next up, I'm getting my bike's tires filled and adding that.

I LOVE MY NUTRITIONIST! She has been the key to making it all make sense.
I had to switch after my first one (associate with the surgeon) was a knucklehead. My new one is also in the same office and I think they keep her hidden because she's so great and they don't want the other one to be out of a job. (OK. I'm just wild guessing here. But seriously. If you knew the woman, you'd know what I mean!)
My new nutritionist is a myfitmesspal friend so she keeps me honest! She is a true partner for me and that's what I really need.

I'm really curious to see how many people went, how many times and if they went after the operation.
I went about 5 times, once a month to see mine before the surgery. BCBS had a rule about 6months but it stopped in January and I still chose to go.
Working with her I concentrated first in what I was eating, not how much. We figured out my triggers (boredom), downfalls (not planning) and that I had to see food as fuel for my body and not a reward. After we did these steps then we worked in size.
I felt really ready for the liquid duet and am ready now for all the stages and the rest if my life. I plan on following the 90/10 rule with food because that's what I feel I can manage and achieve success with.
Today I had my first post op visit (I get my first fill in 2 weeks!!) And right after I met with my nutritionist. I love seeing her, she keeps ne accountable and is a tool for my goal. She helps me with menus and recipes too.
For the mushies stage instead if regular mashed potatoes I am making mashed cauliflower potatoes which are soooo yummy and way better for you.
Does anyone have a nutritionist they see/saw that is helping them? She sends our dayone group recipes, food and has a support group. It's helping me, how bout you guys?

shake up your routine a little. Shock your body! It probably has gotten used to what you've been doing so try something extremely new like liquids (lots!) and increased activity for a few days! All the best...

Have you tried putting an arch support in your shoe? This helps stretch out the tendons so the plantar facitis is not so bad. Also make sure you do a nice set of stretches that focus on your hamstring. These are all lessons that I have lived through! And a good icing of your heels will help take swelling down. As your weight goes down you will see an improvement.
Why not try exercises that don't require you banging on your feet? Cycling, swimming are two that come to mind.
Also make sure you invest in a good athletic shoe. My podiatrist recommends New Balance for this condition.
    Good luck!

whatever you decide to do, start living differently. start thinking of food as a tool to live. we all lived to eat and that's not what you want.
I have changed so much in the last 9 months. I went to the seminar, started counting calories, carbs & fats; exercising 3/5 X each week; investigating healthy foods. It has been the most amazing time of my life. I feel 100% better, health issues have dropped to 2 items, no more reflux, no joint pain, no exhaustion, gone is the poor self image.
You have to feel this is right for you, so don't hurry the process. I am happy this has worked out so well for me. But be sure it is right for you too. I look at it as a second chance on life & health. Looking better and wearing smaller clothing is a great bonus but health is my main concern!
    Good luck with your decision

I just returned from a week in California! It was a fun trip but the best part?
Fitting in an airplane seat! Without an extension! And extra room! And no embarrassment of spilling into the next chair! Being able to use the tray!
Plus...my band did NOT set off any alarms at either airport (O'Hare and San Diego). I didn't noticed any tightening.(Although I think I secretly was hoping too as an insurance policy.)
This, my dear LB brethren, has made it all worth it. And opened a new (travel) chapter in my life. Look out Rome! I have my eye on you next!

Totally unprofessional. I would definately write directly or speak with whoever is the top manager for the clinic. The idea that a medical professional would look down on a patient for dealing with a medical problem is beyond the pale.

I drink diet sodas occasionally. Though not with food because that is uncomfortable and ill- advised. I eat bread.
I was also terrified of "losing" my food. I actually cried at my shrink about it. LOL. But I find that I don't crave bread the way I used to. Probably because my diabetes has disappeared and my body processes the sugar it takes in now more efficiently. I still LIKE bread but I don't LOVE it the way I used to. I can't describe it other than to explain that I used to be the person who would go through 4 baskets of whatever bread was at the restaurant and only stop because the entree arrived. Now I grab a small bite, really enjoy the flavor and texture, carefully chew and swallow, and take a deep breath.
I had bread at dinner tonight. Enjoyed it but enjoyed being a size 8/10 more.

If I eat a healthy meal with a lot of Protein, I am satisfied for 3 or 4 hours as far as real hunger goes. Mental hunger is another thing that you will have to work on.

Unflavored Protein is a good option. My first week post op I blended with strained hot and sour Soup to get the protein in. My problem towards the end of the week was nothing seemed like it had flavor!
