  1. I'm sure that if you replace your protein drinks for lean grilled chicken you'll be at around 900 calories
  2. You mad me laugh, my kids always ask the same every 5 minutes when we're on a trip! Monday will be here before you realise, good luck!
  3. Great to hear! I too love steak, and the other day I met a girl who had the sleeve the same day as me and she said that she was practically a vegetarian now, I'm so glad I'm not in her position!
  4. http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ If you go on that website it will calculate your BMI you just need to enter your height and weight
  5. Oh! And I try keeping my calories around 1000 most days, even though my nut said not to worry if i went round 1200, i'm just a bit desperate to get nearer to goal
  6. I am 6 months out and recently stalled for about 5 weeks. I tried to lower my carbs a bit not very succesful, around 60-80%. I think what helped me break my stall is that I changed my exercise routine, added some weights and did my cardio a bit more intensly Oh and I also stopped the protein drinks and now mostly get all my proteins from normal food. If you don't mind me asking with what BMI did you start and what is your BMI now? Sometimes the lower the BMI the slower the pounds come off. Maybe you should try ditching the protein bars-shakes and have instead snacks like cheese or lean meats, oh and try drinking more water for liquids, i think that helped me break my stall as well. Hope this helps
  7. Yesterday I bumped into a friend who I haven't seen since before surgery when I was at my heaviest. WWhen she saw me she looked at me in disbelief and said "Where's the rest of you??!!" She said i look fantastic and I could tell that she was genuinely happy with me!!
  8. Yummm I feel like eatng a burger now, I'm glad i have some frozen meat, I'm definetly making some healthy home made burgers for lunch today with my daughter who's off school today with an injured foot
  9. Me! Even though I was still hungry all the time winter was always worse. I can't believe I actually LOST weight this winter
  10. I didn't get any specific guidelines frommy doctor, but people here tend to go for protein first (60 to 70%) and around 40%or less of carbs. I track my food on fatsecret.com , when you enter the food you've eaten it gives you the % of proteins, carbs and fat, as well as the calories, and you can also track your exercise. Hope you find this helpful
  11. I do the same as Sussanne, I might be a slow loser, but am near goal 6 months out. I have restricted myself since I was 9 years old from "bad foods" but it never worked for me, as I would put on all the weight and more. Of course most of the time I limit myself to good, slow release carbs (fruit, veggies, whole grain bread for toast or oatmeal and skimmed milk) I am not doing the you can't have this or the other anymore either, a few times since surgery I felt like having nachos, I had 2 or 3 and my desires or cravings were gone,I know that if I don't have what I feel like eating (i wouldn't call it craving anymore) I just think about it all the timeand fantasise about, and eventually when I can get hold of the food i've been craving I'd probably binge on it!

  13. I think it's understandable that you're feeling this way, you're obviously depressed/stressed because things are going to change so drastically in your life again when you go back home. Hang on there try to get to the gym as much as possible as you know the endorfins will work their magic. Once you get home you wwill have much more choice of food as someone said already said, which will make it easier. I would say if you continue to feel like this to see somebody about it if it's available out there. Good luck GT and keep going, you've came this far in what I'm sure is a very stressful time of your life, big hugs
  14. I have to be honest I'm so jealous!! Don't get me wrong I love my sleeve but I know that I will NEVER struggle trying to not lose too much weight, I really want to get to goal or near goal to feel good about myself and prove to myself that I can do it but i'm really comfortable at the weight I am now a few more pounds and I'll fit comfortably in my size 12UK (size 10 US) jeans, now they're still a bit tight round the waist.
  15. Hope you get better soon B: 2 poached eggs 1 slice brown toast coffee w soya milk L: Deli chicken 1 piece around 3 ounces S: about to have another coffee D:Chicken again w gsome green salad
  16. I agree with you pumpkin, she looks like she's almost there! I am much smaller now than I used to be at this weight 10 years ago, so I thing I will be changing my goal again.
  17. G Coops you look amazing!! How did I not see this thread before???? But honestly youu look like you're very near goal noy halfway there, I can see you rocking those size 12 jeans already!!!
  18. I was afraid of that too, but for some strange reason my face hardly has any wrinkles after losing 56 lbs!! Everbody says how much younger I look, I'll be 42 in less than 2 months but now people think I'm in my early 30's!!! Having said that if they see yu tummy they will think I'm in my 60's, horrible, wrinkly, but nothing that surgery can't fix and I can cover it up for the time being, I have no intention of getting back into a bikini like in my 20's so all is good
  19. You know I've stoped the protein shakes and lost 2 pounds in a week, I also replaced most of my milk consumption by soya milk, so who knows, cause I couldn't keep my carbs as low as I first intended to
  20. I too was thinking that because I started weight training, only light weighst, but I decided I'm going to continue because i need to set a routine now and it makes me feel really good about myself
  21. I would love one I'll PM you my email, thanks a lot!
  22. I didn't weigh myself until I was one month out, and now, 6 months out I usually don't weigh myself more often than once a month. You need to be patient
  23. How interesting. This week I tried to lower my carbs cause I was stalled. Still didn't manage as good as I would liked to, but have been having between 50-100 so I guess it's not that bad. Before that it wasn't that different , only that sometimes , maybe once a week I would go a bit higher than 100, 120 at the most. I did break my 1 month 1 week stall at last this week, I lost 2 lbs!
  24. Great post mini-me thanks for sharing and for still being here for us
  25. Theren is no doubt that it's better, but what I understand is just in case we should take a suplement for the rest of our lives. I think one of the reasons is that there is no long term data on whether the sleeve could for some strange reason produce some kind of deficiency (which is quite unlikely), but better safe than sorry
