How can any stand the taste of greek yogurt?
True, we're all to used to very sweet and artificial flavours, me included. I eat 2% fat (which isn't fat free but lower fat) if you put natural fruit in (as I said eralier I put strawberries or blueberries) and a bit of sweetners (when/if I reach goal I will try it with a bit of honey) it does actually taste nice. I think it's an "aquired taste"

I love greek yoghurt, the low fat type, with strawberries and splenda, it's so refreshing!

is your pouch to big???
I'm nearly 8 months out and have lost only a couple of pounds en the last 2 months. I can eat much more now than 2 months ago, which upsets me in a way but for the last couple of days I've been having more salads and fruit with greek yoghurt, and other healthy carbs and i feel in control again and very positive about losing the pounds left to get to goal. How far away from goal are you? What are you eating on any given day? I would try other things (as Tiffy suggested ) before even considering any other procedure this early out.

Wildly Varying Post Op Diets
I had the same sort of guidelines, was on soft/pureed/mushy diet from day 3. I live in England though, here doctors seem to have similar guidelines.

Back to square one
Thanks all for sharing your experiences! Coops I haven't taken the bull by the horns, I had quite a few carbs again since last weekend (excuse being that it was my birthday) so I had a bit of cake and quite a lot of alcohol and that continued all week, the high carbs, not alcohol and cake though. So as from tomorrow I'm back to basics and tracking my food, we can do this!!!!!!!!!!

ATTN drinkers, here's my story
I was quite a drinker before surgery and started to drink 3 months out, but only a glass of wine or a cocktail once in a while. Now, nearly 8 months out, I still have the ocassional drink when I go out (last weekend it was my 42nd birthday and I had quite a bit of wine and cocktails over those days) and I am stalled, I know alcohol is one of the main culprits, so please be careful, it WILL affect your weight loss.

WLS and no exercise? Plateau?
I'm exercising quite vigorously (weights, step/aerobics,body combat) 3 to 4 times a week. I'm on a hge stall now and will try to up my exercise by at least an hour more a week. I feel fantastive even though I haven't lost any weight in a while.

Daily Carbohydrate Intake
BAsically I've been told the same as morethan. I never weigh anything but I know exactly why I stopped losing weight, I'm eating too much around the sleeve, and too many "bad" carbs, sighhhhhhhhhh

Daily Carbohydrate Intake
I agree about the getting healthier, but I guess we all do what we think is best. I find it hard without carbs but I've stopped losing weight and I know the only way to lose what I want to get to goal is to lower my carbs (not completely but stick to fruit veg and a bit of wholegrain) I upped my exercise I do at least 3 times a week cardio and weights but much more intense than before, still not losing weight

Body Sculpting or No?
Hi Mini-me, I don't think it's vain at all. I booked in for my tummytuck for december yesterday (I'm so excited), still have a few pounds to lose but i know for a fact that liposuction won't do the job. I've seen many people who had tummytucks and the results are fantastic. I say go for what will make you happy,

BMI Calculator
To calculate how many calories you should be consuming in a day you need to multiply your BMR by 1,5 or other depending on your levels of activity. To lose weight, in theory you need to consume around 500 calories less than your daily requirement and again, in theory no less than 1200 cal/day to do it healthily. Having said that us sleevers don't really count as normal dieters. So each of us on a diet of around 800cal/day lose weight at different rates. So yep, confusing, and it's a bit more complicated than calories in/calories out, at least in my opinion

Daily Carbohydrate Intake
To maintain your weight carbs should be about 50% of your daily calorie intake. That can be around 200 grams of carbs a day. But to lose weight it has to be less, I think that if you keep it under 100grs 7 months out you will keep losing weight.

Having a hard time fitting my brain in my new body
A very moving story and I'm glad you managed to make desicions in life, about your sexuality and now about your weight. I can see where you're coming from. I've been overweight since I was 10 on and off. At my 41 years I decided to have surgery and it was the best desicion ever. I'm still scared though. I haven't reached target yet but I feel very well phsically and I think I look "normal" weightwise. Some times I still can't believe its me when I look in the mirror or when I see my reflection. I'm', a size 12 UK now, I used to be a 20. I still tend to buy baggy tops, becuase I have a sagggy tummy. Sometimes I think that I'm still fat and then look at myself and remeber I'm not. Even at 7 1/2 months out I feel funny. I do hope I get used to it soon because I don't ever want to be fat again!

Cheeseburger!
I am a bit selfish, and at the same time it does the world of good to my family, but as much as possible I avoid fast food in the house now. My husband had a few lbs to lose and he has lost around 10 since I got sleeved, and my girls have a healthier diet as well now. But when you can't avoid it I agree, go to your room to avoid the smell an d don't watch them eat!

When did you add COFFEE back to your diet?
