newlady1 got a reaction from Miss215 in Gas pain
Has anyone experienced gas pain so painful all you can do is lie down. I took a pain pill to put me to sleep hoping that when i wake up the gas pain would have moved. It didn't help, I'm getting ready to drink hot tea hopefully that will help.

Funny i just changed my Vitamins today to the bariatric chewables. I'm 5 weeks postop and i started with the Multivitamin pills, they are too large for me to swallow. I have a hard time swallowing medium - large pills. Then i tried the multivitamin crystals, you mix with Water. This took forever to drink. So now I'm trying the chewables. We'll see!!! I think it's important to find the right combo for you. The Patches might work for you too.

newlady1 got a reaction from Panda333 in Females over 40, how "fast' did you lose with RNY?
Panda333 I like that you just wanted to hear from women. We have such a different struggle than men. Well I'm 58 and had RNY surgery on 7/25/19. My start weight was 235 I'm at currently at 189.8. At first the weight came off quickly but has slowed down. I'm trying to get more calories in and I'm walking 4-5 times a week. Did my first 5k walkathon yesterday. I'm thinking about joining a zumba class so I'm getting closer everyday. I'm sending encouragement to you, Good Luck.

AJ is right, don't over think it. I'm 4 months out and only experienced dumping twice and it was because I was off my game and ate something wrong. I'm back to eating right and I'm good. Its very tempting to try new things or old things that we used to eat but If you stick to eating the right things, you'll be good.

Hi CPGirl, my surgery was July 25 and I've lost 49. Yes it does slow down a lot. But I make sure I'm getting in my Protein, Vitamins and liquids because there are some days I eat well and days I just don't feel like eating. My doctor told me my body is in preservation mode but to keep getting in high protein, no/low carbs, no fruit and lots of Water, the weight will keep dropping.

Mousecat that is so true. That's when I weigh in and that's how I weigh in. I get the most accurate weigh in at that time.

Wow i thought i was crazy because I've been craving dill pickles and olives. I was telling my sister this is crazy plus my taste buds are so off. So those are one of the few things that taste normal to me.

I had the sleeve surgery in 2015 i lost about 70lbs, then my Gerd came back with a vengence plus i had a hiatal hernia. I gained all my weight back and i decided to give it another try and revise my sleeve to gastric bypass. I'm so glad i did. My surgery was 7/25/19 and after my surgery my doctor told my sister that this surgery was necessary because once he got in there he had to do major repair from the sleeve surgery that was done as well as repair the hernia. He told her he understood why the sleeve was not successful. even though this is a weight loss surgery, for me it was more medical and i will still get the pleasure of losing the excess weight. So far I've lost 30lbs. I have no regrets.

Quick question, did you have GERD prior to your 1998 surgery? Or was it acquired after you had the procedure? If you acquired it after the procedure, was it not well maintained with medications? Hope to hear from you! And hope you are doing better...

It hard not to weigh in daily. I was keeping a daily journal of my weight and bmi which was for my doctors visits. But since I'm past my 5 weeks i don't go back for 2 months. I think weekly may work for me now.

Has anyone experienced weight fluctuation when transitioning to full diet? I'm 6 weeks in and I've gained a couple of pounds instead of losing. Plus I've incorporated walking in my weekly routine. So I'm thinking this is normal right?
