About Me

Hey Everyone,

I can't believe it's taking me this long to get my profile started and to tell y'all a little about myself since I've been reading these forums and your experiences since i started this journey.  I haven't always been big.  I was very active growing up, stayed in shape and never really had to worry about what I ate.  For the past 10 years (since high schools and my days of 6hour dance practice ending) I've had an extreme struggle with my weight.  Back and forth, up and down, and every time I went back up (in weight, of course), I seemed to climb the scale and little bit more.  And then back down again, and up a little more.  I even got to a point where I had accepted the fact that I was probably going to be big forever.  I had made many many appointments to meet with the Lap Band place, True Results, in Houston, TX.  But always seemed to skip them thinking that I wasn't going to be a candidate, or our insurance wouldn't cover it, or that even if we could afford to finance it, I wouldn't be approved due to not so perfect credit.  Obviously these are all excuses.  So back in March 2011 I said what the hell do I have to lose and I went to my consultation.  UM WHY THE HELL DIDNT I DO THIS SOONER???  I met all the requirements except I needed a 6 month doctor supervised whatever.  So here I am, 4 months in.  I have my 5th appointment on August 22 and I'm sure it will all fly by from there.  I am sooo excited to have this surgery and restart my life and body all over again.  I had my first dream of post surgery last night so I know I'm getting nervous too (My stiches were sticking out of my tummy all wrong and my hubby made me drive myself to get my meds while I was still slightly groggy from anesthesia.  I woke up laying on my stomach and I swear it was sore LOL).  But I know this is what I want to do and am ready to change my life for the better.  Thanks for sharing experiences with me and I can't wait to be able to contribute more in a couple of months!!

Cheers to bein' thin and healthy!!
