  6. hello Friends- I may be faced with a big move, i was just banded in March of 2011 and may be moving south to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Also my possible new employer does not give health insurance BUT does give 3000 towards it. So my question is 2 fold 1. Has anybody had any good or bad with the " Fill centers" i see there is one right on HHI wich would be helpfull. I will be talking more to my DR once i know more and see what they have to say, but in t he meatime i would like some feed back from fellow banders. How bad is it with OUT insurance???? i think i can get health insurance on my own with the $ they give me, Ehealthinsurance or something?? 2. Anybody near HHI or Savanah GA, that has been banded and know of a good Dr ? now being banded things like moving are a little bit more of a challange, =) im really at the begining stages so not to many people know yet, so i ask my fellow lap banders for help first =)
  7. i had none after surgery, i was told to wait 2 weeks, since then i have had 2 cups a day, i use light cream and sometimes equal, and sometimes half and half. You just have to up your water intake if u are going to drink coffee.

I hope everybody is safe durring this storm, its kinda scarry, im safe and far from the city but there are millions and millions of people , NJ, NY, the whole coast =( i have freinds in VA, and Hilton head and they said they will ride it out, Survival mode it right, and us banders have to be really smart !!! hope all will be ok

  15. i had a slip 3 months after i was banded, it was soooo bad, omg the pain, I got stuck, and threw up, im sure thats what did it, but then i dry heaved for hours b4 i was rushed to my Dr'soffice at 9pm, he unfilled me , and that did nothing for the pain, then gave me a xray ans saw my slip. Sent me right to the hospital for emergancy repair OR removal. I would know know till i woke up from surgery that he just fixed the slip. i remember asking the minute i opened my eyes if i had my band, and i did. my slip was my fault, i ate something with my hand , after a fill. i was 7.5 cc. but i lived through it ! i was alwasy carefull b4 the slip but i was pms ing and could not get food in my mouth fast enough lol
  16. Thanks Shirley !!!! cheeers ~~

Maybe you will be close to green zone and not even be to hungry, =) have fun and please let me know how it goes cruising banded !!
  18. Thanks Dana !!! I see Dr Kwon on thursday ~!~! AND i do not need a fill wooohoooo
  19. Hello all - i type fast and do not proof read so sorry for miss spelling or grammar lol So today is 5 months to the date that I had my Lapband WLS. !!!!! In the last 5 months I had most ups and only a few downs. I had a slip 3 months out (6/23 ) and was reapaired that night in the hospital and i was back to normal and out of the hospital the next am. I had had NO other problems other then that, no sliming, no pbing, no throwing up, no pain, no nothing other then my slip. besides fighting the HEAD and HABBIT Hunger I exercise by walking and nothing else, i would like to get back to the gym once im in onederland and plan on doing that. I walk my dog 3 times a day up big hills for about 30-60 mins total I have fell off the wagon and have eaten cupcakes, chocolate, carbs, ect, (very small amounts as b4 band it would have been out of controll) bites of this bites of that, but the next day i am right back to normal band diet. i do notice my weight loss is slower when i eat thoose foods. I am at 6.5 cc in my band and am not relly hungry since my last fill. My normal day is coffee with cream and equal and my vitimans, at 7am, i have a bottle of Water on my drive to work, by 10am i have another coffee and a bottle of water, and between 11-12 i eat my "breakfast" which is a protien shake. through out the day i drink drink drink water, i have about 5-6 17fl oz bottles. between 3-4 i have another protien shake, water water water ... I sell cars for a living so Im VERY active at work and make sure i have abottle of water at my desk at all times. between 7-9 i eat dinner, a chopped garden salad with some veggies, feta or gorganzola cheese, dressing and protien, or a piece of chicken fish, turkey ( i do not eat red meat or pork by choice) and some veggies. i use a small plate and small silverware, I chew chew chew chew and take small bites. I have noticed how food is different in my mouth now, when you chew up a bite if salad it changes the taste and sometimes i do not like it ! food is def different chewed to mush !! lol i put my fork down between bites and take 30-60 mins to eat, with or with out company, in a resturant or at home I STILL TAKE MY TIME. after dinner I wait 45-60 mins drink if I am thirsty. I also am a snacker at night, cheese, sf fudgecicles, sf ice pops ect, BUT after this fill that erdge is almost gone. Learning that a HABBIT is not HUNGER, just because i always take a popcicle to bed, DOES not mean I am HUNGRY for it. So the last few nights i have fought the HABBIT and been fine going to sleep. I actully saw the scale movea bit more !! I wish that I would have had surgery sooner but I am glad i had it now. I was up and down my whole life. lowest was 160 highest was 300lbs. I always say is EASY to loose weight, keeping it off is the HARD part, But now on my journey i have help. I call my band my little choke collar ( like a dog had) lol It reminds me b4 i go to far that I should not. I use myfitnesspal to track EVERYTHING i eat and my exercise so i know where i am for the day and that helps A LOT!!! sometines when you see the numbers on what u eat it helps. I eat between 700-1000 calories a day, low carbs. I do not restrict my self. If i want a bite i take a bite. but do try to follow a lower carb eating plan. I just wanted to share my experiece so far with everybody. New banders and old. Support is key and this forum is great for support and help!
  20. woohooo going on a cruise !!! I love to cruise, where are you going? How exciting !!! I am going in feb, and was wondering if i should be really filled or i was also thinking i want to be unfilled a bit so if any stuck or painfull things happen i would be safe. Im sure the Dr on the ship is not too familiar with lapband lol. i would give yourself a few days from the fill. My dr has us on liquids for 2 days , then 2 days of mush, then normal food, I did notice being tigher after this last fill. Good luck and hope you are soing well =)
  21. i think it sounds like a slip, the dry heaving is a def sign. I had a slip and it sounds just like it. when you can not keep anything down, its a issue. i slipped from dryheaving, but also we are not Dr.s DEF go see a DR ASAP
  22. girlie me all you want, but it seems u are the girl. Im sure there a ton of "peeps" as u call them that are doing their own fills, ( ya right) and will be quick to respond to your ridiculous post on a PUBLIC FORUM.
  23. im sorry say, but i think you are crazy to do your own fills, Im sorry but i can not not say anything. You stole from your Dr's office on top of it. You say unexperienced dr's doing your fills, well what do you think you are? this post makes no sense and i can not even believe it, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING??????
  24. i feel the same way Rachel. i almost thought i was the only one, besides from my 1 stuck episode, i can eat anything and as much as i want. I stop myself and make the right choices now, i feel the same as you lol
  25. i have the same Dr, I also follow that rule, we have a very strick office and i lovethat !!!. but also very successfull . I eat one meal a day and 2 shakes, even our shakes have strick guidlines. its hard here cuz everybodys dr's have different rules ect. there are some days when i have 2 small meals and 1 shake, but for the most part it def works for me =)
