seniorsleever got a reaction from Anthrodiva in Why do people react poorly when we say we are having WLS?
Excellent post, Suzanne! I can add two reasons:
    1. Some people don't want you to lose weight, because being around you makes them look good in comparison, and 2. Some people just aren't interested in anyone but themselves. I have known both kinds. I've actually used #1 as a comeback when someone mentions my weight--"Oh, you've gotten so big" and I would say "If it wasn't for people like me, people like you wouldn't look nearly as good." I could kick myself now. Then there are the #2 people. If a friend mentions that you've lost a lot of weight, #2 people will turn around and talk to someone else about their upcoming trip to China or something. They don't want to hear about you, only about what they are in to. I try to shed those people like Water on a duck.

seniorsleever got a reaction from thin soon in Where are the 50s ???
I just turned 55 yesterday. I am almost 5 weeks out, have lost 30 lbs and am in a major stall--but I am getting smaller in clothing sizes. I figure I will lose some, then my body rearranges everything, then I lose some more. I'm trying not to get upset about stalls. I'm going shopping for a treadmill today--maybe that will help.

seniorsleever got a reaction from LilMissDiva Irene in sleeve-not what I expected
Before you had surgery could you have lost 25 pounds in a six week period? Would you have kept it off? I think not.
Your expectations may have been too high going in. You didn't gain it all in one year, did you? Don't expect it to all come off in even less time.
I am almost 10 weeks out and have lost "only" 40 pounds. I thank God for it. Count your blessings and follow the suggestions above.
I'm sorry to sound less than empathetic, but you need to look at the good things about your sleeve instead of dwelling on the scale.< /span>
There are no weight loss fairies that I have been able to find, but the sleeve will work for you if you keep your thoughts positive and keep working at it.
