Looking to make the 20 somethings forum active
Hey I'm Candace I'm 23, I was sleeved on April 4th 2011, and so far I have lost 48lbs. I'm hoping to loose more, since I've started solid food my weight loss has slowed down alot but as long as I stay in the gym and keep my protein and water intake high, the pounds are still rolling off, this last week I managed to get 4lbs off, so all in all I'm very happy with my decision to have the surgery!

Painful GAS pain!!
I actually took the gas-x ultra strength gel tablets- that worked, and oddly enough the pain medicine that I was prescribed helped. Those were the only two things that helped me sleep through the night cause the gas pain was horrible! My gas pains lasted for 2 weeks and gas x and whatever that pain medicine is called were my bestfriends!

Birth control question
I started back taking my birth control pills at 2 weeks post op because me and my bf are very..... spontaneous so I didn't want to have any accidents. I'm on Loestrin24Fe and I haven't had any issues with it.

Losing my a**
I feel your pain lol- literally. I didn't have much cushion to begin with (just really big hips) and now there's even less cushion than before and I can't sit on the bikes at the gym for more than a minute because my a** is non existent. But congrats on your weight loss!!! YAY!!!! lol

Never Thought I'd wear a DD
Hey guys!!! Yesterday I went to Lane Bryant with my bestfriend and we decided to go get fitted for bras. I was very scared because the last time I went to Lane Bryant they told me they didn't even have a bra my size which at the time was a 48I- yes an "I". So I go to get measured after my friend and she tells me that I am now a 42DD! OMG, I never thought I'd see the day! I never even wore a DD before! I ultimately would love a big B or a small C but I was so excited about the change that I'm looking forward to the next few months more than anything! I will be 6 weeks post op tomorrow and I have the biggest grin on my face . Take care!!! P.S. I'm still going to hold off on that shopping spree until June lol.

Is travel 4 weeks after VSG realistic? (I'm pre-op & trying to plan)
No problem The only other thing I can think of is once you are through security, you can go into one of the little shops that they have at the airport where they sell beverages and you actually may find some protein shakes. I know that usually will have stuff like muscle milk protein shakes and you could buy that before you get on the plane, so if you do get hungry then you will be ok. I like the idea for the Business meals, a soup would be great lol.

4 weeks seems fine, I would suggest walking on the plane with they turn off the seat belt sign just to get some circulation. How long is your flight?

How often do you go to the gym?
That sounds awesome. I have gym membership at my university for free, well not for free cause I pay tuition lol but I am in walking distance from it so I usually get a walk in before I hit the gym. Working out is so awesome.

How often do you go to the gym?

How often do you go to the gym?
Hey peeps! I usually go try to go to the gym 3 times a week for at least 45 to 55 minutes. This week I went 4 times and I intend on going again today. I usually do the treadmill or eliptical for at least 40 minutes and I sometimes work on my arms, I haven't been cleared for abs or anything of that nature so I try to take it easy. My doctor told me I could do light weights right now, but I really want to focus on my upper body now, does anyone have any suggestions????
-
PROTEIN
I would suggest protein shakes or protein shots (it's like a little tube that has 42grams of protein in it)

I fit my goal pants already...
As my friend MoMo would say, "you better work it hunny!" lol

My boyfriend left me because I added one picture to this site!!!
I'm sorry that you are going through that. It sounds like he is definitely insecure. Try to stay focused on the goal at hand, have you had WLS yet or are you prepping to have it?
