Regret and fear are my worse enemies right now
i am pre-op and i drink like a fish. i don't think i produce nearly what i should compared to what i put in! my dr. says i am fine! i wouldn't worry too much about it, if you are peeing, then you are getting rid of waste. i would go sit on the toilet and make myself pee. sometimes, even if you don't feel like you have to go, there is still some that will come out. If you still feel it is a problem, keep on them dr.'s. noboby knows your body like you do! Good luck! Kelly

Advice Needed & Welcomed
I too, went in wanting the band. My surgeon said NO WAY! He said in just a short time, it would be in my throat! I NEVER wanted to have a bypass. That thought never entered my mind. I never even thought of having WLS when that was the only option. The thought of having my intestines re-routed does not sound appealing to me at all. When my dr. suggested the sleeve, I had not heard of it. He told me to do some research and let him know what I thought. He explained it all to me and told me because I take meds that I will have to take for the rest of my life, this was the "best" option for me and would allow me to do so. My guts would not be re-routed and I would not have dumping syndrome. I would only have a small stomach and that is it. I am so glad that he introduced me to the sleeve!!! I have not stopped reading about the surgery since I met with him back in November. I read and read and read. My surgery is May 9th. I know I have made the BEST decision and that I will be happy with it. Best of luck to you in whatever you choose! Kelly

Thanks Heather, I sure hope so. I just feel satisfied when I eat, but shortly after, I am hungry again. It is not head hunger, my stomach GROWLS all the friggen time. I feel as if I have not eaten for days. I take Nexium daily and right now, twice a day. It is definatly not acid. I am so scared that I am going to go thru this and I am still going to be starving all of the time!!! My dr. says NO WAY!, but I just can not make the dobut leave me at this time. I guess, I just am so use to failure that I am afraid of failing again! Thanks, Kelly

Psych evaluation time frame?
I have Kaiser and they just went over medical history. Asking lots of questions about drug use/abuse, mental history, w/l issues. No tests of any kind. Maybe the questions were tests. She wanted to know about my support at home and why I wanted to have this surgery. It took about 45 minutes. Kelly

Oh goodness. I know that it is probably hard, but don't get yourself all worried and sick and scared unless you really have to! There are lots of things that it could be. My mom has begnin cysts removed from her breasts all of the time and is always scared that it is the "c" word, but it never is! Please, Please don't worry yourself sick. I will pray for you. Please keep us posted. Kelly

High Protein and Low Carb
Good Job David!! That is great to hear. I know that Kaiser paitents have all of the tools to be successful. They truely set you up for it. They give you all of the information that you need and if you use it, you will WIN!! I am excited for my surgery on May 9th and know I will have great results too! That is why when I see someone post that they do not know what vitamin to take or what food to eat, I am blown away. I have to wonder, WHO IS THEIR DR??? It makes me crazy!! Kelly

during the liquid diet...
Smoking is an irritant and causes you not to heal well. That is why they want you to stop smoking and never to smoke after surgery! It is really a bad idea! Kelly

THAT IS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D I look forward to that day too!! I take 1,000mg of Metformin and my blood sugars are in the 120's with the medication. I have lost 60lbs pre-op which has helped bring them down from close to the 200's. I know I will be off mine soon too! I can't stop smiling for you!! Congrats! Kelly
