  3. CONGRATS!!!! i did the same thing. after i got my date, i was like "are you sure you want to do this." i had an hour car ride home and felt excited and scared all at one time! my surgery date is May 9th also!! YAY. make room for me next to you on that loser's bench meggiep!! best of luck to the both of you!! kelly
  4. I am so worried about this!! This was the main reason I chose this surgery. I AM FREAKIN STARVING ALL OF THE TIME!!! I hope so badly that when I do have my new tummy, May 9th, I will stop being so hungry. I take Nexium and have for years, so I really do not think it is acid, it is not head hunger, my stomach GROWLS AND GROWLS all damn day long! I can eat and then 2 hours later, I am hungry again! I seriously could eat all day!!! I hope this will "fix" me. Kelly
  5. that is exactly why nobody but my husband knows! i haven't even told my own mother!! people are so judgemental and ignorant. it is sad.!! Kelly
  6. :DTHAT IS AMAZING !!! GOOD JOB! Kelly
  7. Sure, no problem!! I will be having my surgery May 9th and my dr. has advised that I get in group sessions for a couple of months. I have not been able to find one close to me and am not willing to drive 2 hours to go!! Even if the other 3 people that I invited don't answer, we still have 6 as of right now! That will give us a start and we can grow! I am excited!! And will keep you posted. Kelly
  8. i AGREE!! tiff is always spot on and always gives the best answers. i think she should be a DR.!! TIFF rocks! Kelly
  9. it will be here fast...hang in there!! kelly
  10. i agree, just do it!! there is no need to wait or have "A LAST SUPPER"!!! i have been doing pre-op diet since november!! waiting to have my surgery may 9th. it has only benefited me. i have lost 54lbs and i am that much closer to my goal because of it! oh, and i also will not have to do a liquid diet before surgery because my liver is already shrunk!! YAY!! you can do it! good luck to you! kelly
  11. if it is not what above poster stated, it could be allergies. it is allergy season. i have not had surgery yet, but at the begining of each allergy season, i always feel as if there is something in my throat and it makes me cough. kelly
  12. i just can not get with the greek yogurt thing!! BLAH! maybe i could try it this way. i want so badly to like it, becasue of the protein, but just can not seem to find ways that are good. i find it dry and bitter! thanks for the recipe. i will try! kelly
  13. So, I went thru today for a little while and found 5 people that are from Sacramento! I emailed them and asked if they would be interested in joining a support group for VSG. Hopefully, they will answer!! With those 5 and us that would be enough for a small group!! It could only grow bigger later! Fingers crossed!! Kelly
  14. GOOD JOB!!! I have been doing the pre-op diet since November and have lost 54lbs!! I wanted to lose 120lbs and I am having my surgery May 9th. I will have a shorter goal and will not have to do a liquid diet before like many do. Keep it up and you will be there before you know it!! Kelly
  15. I have not had surgery yet, but read this board ALOT!! i hear gas x strips work and walking is best. i would check with my dr. about the strip first tho. good luck to you!! kelly
  16. THAT IS AWESOME!!!! :) :) :) good for you! keep up the good work. you will be to goal in no time!! kelly
  17. My doc and nut say to NEVER have soda or caffeine again! I do not drink either anyway, so not a big deal for me, but I can understand not being able to. I use to drink 6 diet pepsi's a day 10 yrs. ago and just quit one day. Man, did I have severe headaches for about a week!! The caffeine I guess is an irritant and the bubbles cause gas to our new tummies. Best of luck! Kelly
  18. I have not had surgery yet, but they recommend you take one mont prior. I take multi and calcium chew in a.m. iron chew at lunch, multi and calcium chew after work or with dinner. i also do a sublingual b-12 twice a week, vitamin c daily, and fish oil daily. i agree, the chewable multi are so nasty. i have the orange ones from bariatric advantage and they taste horrible! Kelly
  19. I guarantee you will be there before you know it!! I have not had surgery yet...MAY 9th!!! However, I am one of the ones that has lost large quanties of weight in the past, but could never keep it off!! I lost 120 lbs one time doing WW and bought a size 12 as my incintive jeans!! I just knew one day I would wear them!! Well, when I lost my weight, I put them on and they fell off me!! I was shocked!! I NEVER dreamed that i would ever wear those jeans, let alone them be too big for me! You will proably wear it, but just for a minute and it will then be too big!! LOL Best of luck to you!! Kelly
  20. WOW!! GOOD FOR YOU. that made me cry!! Good job. Kelly
  21. I would think that 2 weeks is a little early to be eating solid food like a protein bar.!! My plan doesn't call for solid food of any type until 6 weeks out. You really need to be careful about advancing too quickly as it can cause leaks and other troubles! Kelly
  22. THAT IS SO AWESOME!! GOOD JOB! Kelly
  23. thank goodness i only have to do clears for 2 days after surgery!! i had to do them for a sigmoidocopsy a couple months ago and almost didn't make it! after the two days, i can go to full liquids and i feel that will be so much easier! good luck! Kelly
  24. I have heard that baby food is really nasty. Yay for vicoden! Kelly
  25. well, maybe if enough people reply here, we can start our own group! That would be cool!! we have 3 now. anyone else wanna join? LOL Kelly
