  1. i don't know if anyone posted this or not, but i will have to try myself. add 2 tbs of PB2 and mix well. that would probably make it taste good! i am excited. Kelly
  2. Lash44, some people are just not supportive about WLS. That is why I am chosing not to tell anyone except my husband. Not even my own mother knows! Are your friends overweight? They might be a little jealous of you as well! Some people can not just say "Hey, you look great!" Or "Good Job!". They are insecure in their own skin and wish that they were you. My advice is keep doing what you are doing and if they can't be supportive of you and your weight loss, then to hell with them. You should be doing it for you and noboby else. Good luck and good job so far! Kelly
  3. Not to scare you, but I would be careful not following your surgeons request of the pre-op diet. I read this morning a post that someone was put on that diet, did not follow it and went in for the surgery and her surgeon sent her home. He knew that she had not followed the diet because she had gained and not lost and when he asked her, she told him. He cancelled the surgery because the whole reason for the diet is to shrink your liver so the surgery is safer. Try to stick to the diet. It will only benefit you and the last thing you want is for your surgery to be cancelled. Good luck! Kelly
  4. I am not telling anyone, but my husband! It is NOBODYS business anyway. People are so judgemental and think that WLS is an easy out. I say do it and if you want to tell, tell later. It is your decision and nobody else's anyway. Good luck to you. Kelly
  5. Hi Kelli, How cool that we have the same name! I read that the soup has to be no hotter than 130 degrees or it will clump! That will probably suck pre-op, but you are right about being just right post op. I have not gotten my surgery date yet. It has been a slow process!! Been at this since last Sept 10. I have lost 50lbs tho! Testing, classes, more test, dr. visits. uggg. I know it will all be worth it tho. I am going thr Kaiser and they make you do ALOT of stuff! I am having an upper endoscopy done and that is my last step! YAY Then, I can meet with the coordinator and she will set my date. My endoscopy is not until the middle of april. Good luck to you! Kelly
  6. Congrats to you. You look fantastic! Kelly
  7. Looking good girlfriend! Keep up the good work! Kelly
  8. Tiff, you always give such great advice! This board is so lucky to have you! Kelly
  9. I know how important protein is for healing and weight loss. Yesterday, I went online and ordered some samples of Unjury, Chike and PB2. I thought I should try them pre-op to see if I like them and then order some and get stocked up!! Chike had 5 samples for $6.95 i think and that included shipping. Not bad! Unjury's samples were $1.75 each and i think shipping was about $3.00. Just a little info for those that wish to try and not buy large quanities. I heard Unjury's chicken soup protein mix is REALLY good. I can't wait to get it! I will post again and let you know how they are. Kelly
  10. You will do great! Good luck! Kelly
  11. i just want to wear sleeveless tops. i have such fat arms and i hate them!!!!! i can not wait to lose the fat in my arms and tone them up and look fab in a tank, halter or sleeveless dress!! Kelly
  12. how exciting!! good for you. makes it all worth it, huh? may GOD bless you and your baby! kelly
  13. Good for you. That is a great NSV! I can't wait until i can run. How exciting! Kelly
  14. ICK! greek yogurt is awful. i can not do it. it seems gritty or something to me. i tried to like it, but i just can not do it. but, like everyone is saying, people have different tastes. i LOVE green peppers and my husband HATES them. Kelly
  15. Good Job!! I am happy for you.
  16. Anyone use the ENS - Multivitamin, Calcium, & Protein Shake from Celebrate Vitamins? I was just wondering about the taste? And if it was worth the price to buy them or just get the Premier ones from costco? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Kelly
  17. thanks to everyone for your advice. i have not had my surgery yet, but am going to within the next month or so. i was advised to start taking my vitamins now, that way, i get in the habit of taking them. all of the information was confusing and you all have helped a lot. i really appreciate it. thanks again! kelly
  18. thanks for the advice. my booklet says carbonate or citrate are fine. i will have to ask my dr. or nutritionist again when i see them. i guess all dr.'s have different ideas. maybe that is why they say viactiv is o.k. i mean if it is not, i can get something else, i just wish the information they give was accurate. i also like the idea that with that chewable, it takes care of the calcium and d all in one. thanks again, kelly
  19. my dr. wanted me to lose 25lbs. and i have lost 50lbs. the process has been really drawn out and i have been going at this since last october. i just keep going because the pre-op diet works and i have heard that kaiser will turn you away if you are not at pre-surgery goal. they will cancel your surgery and ARE that strict. i do not know who you are insured with or who your dr. is, but if you have kaiser, know that they do that! good luck! kelly
  20. so i have a question about Vitamins. what vitamins do you take? my information says to take a multi Vitamin with minerals like flinstone complete, Vitamin D, Calcium (carbonate or citrate), and a b-12 sublingual. i have the flinstone complete and viactiv plus d, however, i can not seem to find the sublingual b-12. do i need to go to GNC to get these? i am confused. thanks! kelly
  21. My reason for having the surgery is quite simple. I can lose weight on my own and have several times. However, I always gain it back and then some. Last time, I lost 112 lbs and gained 130. If i were successful at keeping it off myself, I would. However, I can not do that. This is going to give me that edge that I did not have in the past. That is my biggest reason and I now have become a diabetic and that scares the s%it outta me. Hope that helps!
  22. i have been doing the pre-op diet since october and have lost 50 lbs. it is low carb, low fat, high protein diet from Kaiser. i like it and think it really sets you up for the way you will eat after surgery. Kelly
  23. i have been doing the pre-op diet since october. so, 5 months. i enjoy it, i feel a lot better and have lost 50 lbs! my dr. wanted me to lose 25 lbs, so i have exceeded his expectations! i feel that it does set you up for the way you will have to eat post-op. i plan to have my surgery sometime next month. kelly
  24. so far i do like him..and yes he is very straight to the point and as a matter of fact type. i have lost 50lbs pre-op, so he doesn't give me any problems because he only wanted me to lose 25lbs. i was just wondering if others liked him and if they did well with their surgeries. i know he is the chief surgeon, so i should be in good hands and all, i just like to hear about others success with the same surgeon. thanks so much, kelly
