  1. GOOD LUCK!! i just said a little prayer for ya!! Kelly
  2. I would think that if it were o.k. to do it then go for it! Obviously your ob/gyn doesn't think that it is out of the question or he would not be talking to the bariatric surgeron about it. I think if they say you can and all your labs are fine, then go for it!! That way you only have to heal once! Why heal from the hysteroctmy and then have to heal later from the sleeve?? You may feel REALLY BAD for a while, but at least only once!! Best of luck to you! Kelly
  3. I just got my date last wednesday. It's May 9th!! They wanted to give me May 2nd, but being gone from my job the first week of any month is not good! I am an accountant and I need to be here to balance, balance, balance!! LOL Best of luck to you!! And yes, it will be here soon! Kelly
  4. I am not sure about this. I hear people say that they feel as if they get it, but not sure if it is really "dumping" or not. My dr. and case mgr say that sleevers don't get dumping. So, I don't know. Kelly
  5. Hello all!! I am getting sleeved May 9th, in Richmond, Ca. by Dr. David Fisher. I have been going thru the Kaiser bariatric program since Sept.10 and have lost 52 lbs.! I am very excited and can not wait! Good luck to all of you! Kelly
  6. Thanks, that makes me feel better! Yes, it is the barium swallow thing. YUCKY POO!! Kelly
  7. Thanks everyone! I guess I am just more concerned about the Fluoroscopy and why it was ordered. That freaks me out. If they know i have a hernia, why more tests? It just makes me think that there is something more they are not telling me! I just worry too much and make myself sick most times over nothing! I just emailed my surgeon and hopefully he will put me at ease! Kelly
  8. That is great news!! My date is May 9th. We can sit next to each other on the loser's bench!! Best of luck to ya!! Kelly
  9. I had the Pylori test done by blood. Maybe they do it this way too??? IDK, i am just really freaked out and the GI dr. ordered me to take the Fluoroscopy too, I just don't know why they need to do more x-rays and stuff if there isn't something wrong! UGHHH! Kelly
  10. I had to have an upper endoscopy done yesterday because i have GERD and have for several years. My surgeon wanted to make sure that everything was ok before he operates on me. The gastro dr. found a LARGE hiatial hernia and mild stomach inflamation!! He also took a biopsy...is that normal to take a biopsy? I am worried that something is wrong and that is why he did it!! Do you think that my Dr. will still operate? I am a nervous wreck! Kelly
  11. I hope that will be me one day soon! Not so much the 4 or 6, but not so hungry and not have to think about food all of the time thing! I hate it and really hope that I am one of the lucky ones that it just goes away! Happy dance for you! Congrats! Kelly
  12. I don't think so. I mean they approve you on what you weigh now. If you do a diet to lose waiting to be sleeved and go below 40 bmi, they should still do it. My insurance does, I have Kaiser. I was 43 bmi and am now 34 bmi. I have lost 53lbs and my surgeon is THRILLED!! He said it will only help me post op and he will definatly still do the surgery. Besides, it will make me have a very short goal. Good luck to you! Kelly
  13. That is so freaking awesome!! Kelly
  14. God will keep you safe! We all will be rootin for you gurl! Kelly
  15. i am not using an outside surgeon. I AM using their dr. at their facitliy. That is why I thought it was weird that they would ask for that information when they are their own everthing! Some people do use an outside facility when it is a cheaper option for them, maybe that is why? I, however, do not have to pay for my surgery. I don't know! It was the admitting paperwork for the hospital, so i don't have to do it when i show up to have the surgery. I will just ask next week when I go for the nutrition class. Certainally they will know! Thanks, Kelly
  16. Well, on the form, they asked for my work name, address, phone #. I gave it to them, but gave them my direct line phone number! If they call, they will call me. I hope that they do not call, but if they do, they are going to call me! I know that they can always get the phone number to the office if they wanted it, but I think maybe they just want the information if there is a problem. I don't know.!!! I have to attend a nutrition class next week and my case manager will be there. I am going to ask her then why I had to fill the form out and my concerns about them contacting my work. I am sure that they will not and can not, I think I am just being paranoid because I fell as if I would just die if they found out! Thanks to both of you for your answers! Kelly
  17. WOW!! Boo on the husband! I have researched for over a year and everything you described is very normal. Many have "buyers regret". I have not been sleeved yet either, May 9th I will be tho!! I think it is normal to think " what have i done to myself?" because you feel so awful and things are so much different that you are use to!! I assure you that many say the exact same things as you and they also say give it time and you will feel better! Best of luck to you! Kelly
  18. IEGAL, i so hope that the 'feeling hungry' all of the time issue for me is resolved for me as well! It is so damn annoying to always be so hungry! i hear a lot of people say that it could be and then some say they still are hungry. i pray mine goes away. i am not a grazer and do not have head hunger, if i just did not feel hungry, i would be fine. best of luck to you!! kelly
  19. I have not had surgery yet, but my dr. says that we can not do anything but walk until 6 weeks out! Hope this helps! Kelly
  20. I have Kaiser for my insurance and they too, are paying for my sleeve, so I do not know the cost! However, I can tell you that the Kaiser Richmond Bariatric Dept. ROCKS!! My Dr. is David Fisher and he is AWESOME! The Bariatric center in Richmond is ranked #3 in the nation for Bariatric Surgery. You can't go wrong with them! Best of luck to you! Kelly
  21. Yep! It is for life! No drinking 30 minutes before or after eating FOREVER! Best of luck to you. Kelly
  22. OH, i am soooo nervous about this too!! I don't know when to quit now!! I know I will not know then!! So scary! and I would rather be beat in the face than to throw up!! Kelly
  23. I am having the sleeve done and my BMI right now is 35. I started with a BMI of 43.5 though! I have lost 52lbs pre-op and am still going, so may very well get down to a 33 BMI by the time my date gets here!! My Dr. said that he will still do the surgery and that the more I lose the easier it will be for me. I am having the surgery to keep from gaining the weight back anyway. I always could lose, but could never keep it off. Hopefully, this will help me! Good luck to you! Kelly eight Loss CWenter is your best free resource for weight loss
