  1. Band to sleeve revision here! BEST. DECISION. EVER. Banded 2010 Sleeved Dec 2016 Lost 142 lbs and still going!

    Weight loss at 4 Months

Yes!!! Ditto on this. Think long term. This is what a loss graph 8 years out looks like. All that you hear is 140 lbs lost and think WOW! But this is the truth and the road there! Keep going....even if it takes you 8 years to get there. Is it SO worth it! Heather Banded 2010 Sleeved 2016 140 lbs lost!
  3. Thank you! I want everyone to feel like I feel. Good luck to you on the approval. Getting rid of the band really changes quite a bit, right?

    Awful Taste in Mouth

Ketosis!!! It is what I am trying to get on and stay on! Bad stinky breath, but you will burn fat like crazy! Make sure that you aren't eating sugars so that you can stay that way.

    Am I different?

Yeah. Absence of issues here too. I did, however listen to doctor's instruction. He progressed me to soft solids in 1 week and all solids within 2 weeks. Let your stomach heal and DONT get the cheese nibs started. Don't mistake head hunger for actual body hunger. It gets better in a couple of weeks. 140lbs down......I speak from experience!
  6. I was in hospital less than 24 hours. Easy peasy! 140 lbs down
  7. Yes on 1 surgery, but I don't think anyone does a sleeve as outpatient. That seems super dangerous! I stand corrected. There are apparently doctors that do sleeve as outpatient. CRAZY!
  8. How about another update? 140lbs down. I'm actually in training to become a Barre instructor. Who would have thought that the girl who once had to ride a motorized cart around a grocery store, the girl who couldn't find cute clothes because she was just too big, the girl who was out of breath after 1 flight of stairs, would be fit enough to be asked by her instructors to be a Barre instructor? I love to workout. I love to take the stairs. I love to make my friends have walking dates with me instead of lunch dates. I'm that girl! I'm working on extreme fat loss to be in optimal shape for my skin removal surgery. Life is great! The sleeve and my new found ability to not get "stuck" on healthy foods is incredible! Seriously!! A little back story: banded in 2010. Sleeved in Dec 2016. SW: 327 in 2010 CW: 187 in 2017 Goal: to be healthy!!

    Does anyone still get "stuck"?

No reflux issues at all with the sleeve. I had serious issues like tooth erosion from reflux and vomiting with the band. 6 months out and no problems. They gave me omneprozole (I think) for acid, but I didn't have to take it. My band was just too tight! Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 137 lbs lost

    Does anyone still get "stuck"?

That is the best part about the sleeve! No "stuck" feeling!!! Now if you overeat, expect super urgent projectile vomiting. I have only done it twice. One time I ate rice (such a bad idea!) and one time I drank after eating. It is completely different and takes some getting used to after having lived with the band for so long. I used to have issues when eating any "clean" foods like meats and veggies. There is no longer that issue. The loss is slower than for those that went with the sleeve originally, but so worth the revision! (Even for those of us that paid out of pocket!) Heather Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 137 lbs lost

    5 days Post Op

I had no fullness with drinking h liquids of any kind. I still have no restriction with liquid unless it is on top of food. I actually watched my liquid swallow and leak test on my release date from the hospital. Liquid went through stomach and down through intestines relatively quickly. I have lost 65 lbs since my band to sleeve revision so it is obviously working correctly! Just follow your doctors orders on eating and recovery and make sure you drink constantly. Good luck to you! 14. I hope all went well with your sleeve! I am still amazed by how much better sleeved life is than band life. It is a little difficult the first few weeks, but once you get back to normal food, life is so much better! Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 137 lbs lost
