    Weight loss at 4 Months

Yes!!! Ditto on this. Think long term. This is what a loss graph 8 years out looks like. All that you hear is 140 lbs lost and think WOW! But this is the truth and the road there! Keep going....even if it takes you 8 years to get there. Is it SO worth it! Heather Banded 2010 Sleeved 2016 140 lbs lost!
  3. Thank you! I want everyone to feel like I feel. Good luck to you on the approval. Getting rid of the band really changes quite a bit, right?
  4. I am that warped person that kept my band after removal! So far, so good with everything. This was the best decision that I could have made. I can now eat healthier food without that stuck feeling and I don't have the acid and back pain issues that I used to have! It took removing 60-70% of my stomach for me to feel normal again. BEST. DECISION.EVER. Banded 2010 weight:327 Sleeved 12/28/16 weight:253 Currently 222.9lbs 104 lbs down!! Heather in Texas

    Awful Taste in Mouth

Ketosis!!! It is what I am trying to get on and stay on! Bad stinky breath, but you will burn fat like crazy! Make sure that you aren't eating sugars so that you can stay that way.

    Am I different?

Yeah. Absence of issues here too. I did, however listen to doctor's instruction. He progressed me to soft solids in 1 week and all solids within 2 weeks. Let your stomach heal and DONT get the cheese nibs started. Don't mistake head hunger for actual body hunger. It gets better in a couple of weeks. 140lbs down......I speak from experience!
  7. I was in hospital less than 24 hours. Easy peasy! 140 lbs down
  8. Yes on 1 surgery, but I don't think anyone does a sleeve as outpatient. That seems super dangerous! I stand corrected. There are apparently doctors that do sleeve as outpatient. CRAZY!
  9. How about another update? 140lbs down. I'm actually in training to become a Barre instructor. Who would have thought that the girl who once had to ride a motorized cart around a grocery store, the girl who couldn't find cute clothes because she was just too big, the girl who was out of breath after 1 flight of stairs, would be fit enough to be asked by her instructors to be a Barre instructor? I love to workout. I love to take the stairs. I love to make my friends have walking dates with me instead of lunch dates. I'm that girl! I'm working on extreme fat loss to be in optimal shape for my skin removal surgery. Life is great! The sleeve and my new found ability to not get "stuck" on healthy foods is incredible! Seriously!! A little back story: banded in 2010. Sleeved in Dec 2016. SW: 327 in 2010 CW: 187 in 2017 Goal: to be healthy!!

    Does anyone still get "stuck"?

No reflux issues at all with the sleeve. I had serious issues like tooth erosion from reflux and vomiting with the band. 6 months out and no problems. They gave me omneprozole (I think) for acid, but I didn't have to take it. My band was just too tight! Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 137 lbs lost

    Does anyone still get "stuck"?

That is the best part about the sleeve! No "stuck" feeling!!! Now if you overeat, expect super urgent projectile vomiting. I have only done it twice. One time I ate rice (such a bad idea!) and one time I drank after eating. It is completely different and takes some getting used to after having lived with the band for so long. I used to have issues when eating any "clean" foods like meats and veggies. There is no longer that issue. The loss is slower than for those that went with the sleeve originally, but so worth the revision! (Even for those of us that paid out of pocket!) Heather Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 137 lbs lost

    5 days Post Op

I had no fullness with drinking h liquids of any kind. I still have no restriction with liquid unless it is on top of food. I actually watched my liquid swallow and leak test on my release date from the hospital. Liquid went through stomach and down through intestines relatively quickly. I have lost 65 lbs since my band to sleeve revision so it is obviously working correctly! Just follow your doctors orders on eating and recovery and make sure you drink constantly. Good luck to you! 15. I hope all went well with your sleeve! I am still amazed by how much better sleeved life is than band life. It is a little difficult the first few weeks, but once you get back to normal food, life is so much better! Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 137 lbs lost
  16. I had the same thought! I still think about it from time to time. I just ask myself what I actually liked about eating. Was it the actual taste of the food? Because you can still eat everything....even more than you could with the band because nothing gets "stuck." I really liked the feeling of having control over what I put in my body. If I want to eat 2 pieces of cheesecake, I can because it is my body and I'm the boss! Feeling full of food was comfortable. I am now that ridiculous person that loves to work out. Now I look forward to the sore feeling of accomplishment and the changes in my body. I have replaced my obsession with food with a healthier obsession for working out. I keep myself in check much better with the group fitness classes than I ever did with food. I still like some food, but have found my desires and craving for most food non-existent. I hear that it comes back, but I don't really want it to! Enjoy sleeved life...it is really pretty great! Good luck to you! P.S. There are still times that I get mad that I can't eat more than a few bites of something, but you learn how to deal. Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 137 lbs lost

When will I feel the restriction?

Completely normal! Liquids go straight through my sleeve. Even well chewed foods don't give too much restriction. Eat mindfully and stick to the portion sizes recommended by your dr. Most of what you will feel for the first 4 month or so (some people, the rest of their life!) is not hunger.. it is in your head! Mentally I want to eat more because I'm stubborn and think I should be able to eat a normal size portion of food, but I can't and I don't need to! Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 130 lbs lost
  18. I have lost 125 lbs as of this morning. I have been shopping in plus size stores my whole life. Even in middle school, I was plus sized. I am now at the point where I can go into any store and buy clothes and not generally the biggest in the standard store. I don't know about you guys, but I have a really hard time accepting my new size. I always take clothes that are too big into the dressing room. I'm always waiting for the sales associates in the normal stores to look at me and tell me that I don't belong in the store or to point out that I'm a fraud and am obviously in the wrong store. I know it is completely mental because I'm in small and medium tops and size 12 pants, but it is like I can't accept it! I feel like I'm going to have a Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman moment and they are going to kick me out! Anyone else experience this? Heather Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 122 lbs lost
  19. Congratulations on the loss! Wow! Isn't is crazy how long it takes to feel smaller? I just went through all of my clothes and tried EVERYTHING on. I had to get rid of lots of clothes that I was hanging on to. I was waiting to fit into 1/2 of my wardrobe, but now it is too big. I can't wait for my brachioplasty and 360 lift! I'm going for a consult in a couple of weeks! Let us know how it goes! That is super exciting! Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 122 lbs lost
  20. Yes!!! Me too! I was sleeved in December and haven't looked back! The band has its limitations, but worked decently well for me. When I would near my TOM, my stomach would swell and everything would get stuck. Absolutely NO eating anything healthy. I would eat only slider foods. My teeth were eroding due to vomiting. Acid ruled my life and I would have a panic attack thinking about how many times I would need to run to the restroom when I would go out to dinner with anyone who didn't know the "situation." Since being sleeved in December, I have vomited twice. Once was because I ate too much and one was because I ate rice and it expanded. I only stick to riceless sushi now! Banded 2010. 21. Sage Bariatric! Dr Gonzalez. He has done 3 very successful sleeves in my family for a total of 325 lbs lost between the 3 of us! He is the best and their office has really good before and after care!! Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 122 lbs lost
  22. There are plenty of great post weight loss surgeons out there. In my opinion, cheap isn't good and good isn't cheap. I have researched and found Dr Fisher in San Antonio, close to where I live. I expect to spend lots on plastics. I love myself, but let's be real...who doesn't want a "normal" looking stomach and perky boobs? If you are willing to travel, check out Simone's journey to health on Facebook. She used someone in Arizona and her results are fantastic. Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 122 lbs lost
  23. I am a band to sleeve revision. Sleeved 12/29/16 and down 53 lbs. down 122 total. I haven't had any hair loss, but it is probably coming. I have been taking 30,000 mg of biotin daily since early December so maybe that is helping. Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 122 lbs lost
  24. You are doing great!!! It takes a while to really figure it out. 49 lbs down is fantastic. Iron really helps me dramatically. Keep up to great work! Banded 2010. Sleeved Dec 2016 117 lbs lost
