Glad to see you back. I am soooo glad I didn't have any gas pains. I brought my Gas -X strips to the hospital fully expecting to use them for the gas, but no gas pains came. Hopefully the gas pains are better for you now. Good luck as you continue your journey. Deb

  11. Hi guys, Yes the pre-op diet can be very challenging, but you must do it!!!! What helped me was thinking this diet is to shrink my liver, so when the surgeon retactes it out of the way of the stomach it will not be to big. My surgeon's office cautioned us if our livers were to big we probably would not be able to have the surgery. THAT WOULD SUCK!!!! So keep thinking it is to shrink your liver. so you can have the surgery. It is a mindset. YOU CAN DO IT!!! YOU WILL DO IT!!! :confused1::thumbup: I hope this helps. Deb

  20. My surgeon's office assumed because I work for the postal service I had a very strenuous job. Not true even though I am required to lift up tp 70 pounds if needed. I have never lifted more than probably 25 pounds in the 10 yrs. I have worked then. Anyway they filled out my FMLA papers out for 4 weeks off. No way in hell did I need that much time, but it was nice to know it was there if I needed it. I actually took 2 weeks off, but could have gone back after 1. If you can take that much time off and your surgeon OKs it, go for it!!!! :thumbup1: Deb
  21. Ok Donna. I'm loving all of this support. Deb
  22. Here's a Nike slogan for you "Just do It. Tell the public, be honest. When.. not if you start losing huge amounts of weight in no time, they are going to think you did surgery anyway, so beat them to the punch. Tell and maybe educate them as well. That's my two cents worth. Can you gives us some hints? Which team? Which sport.... football, baseball or ice hockey.... etc? LOL. Deb
