  1. I got misty eyed for you too girl!!! I love reading about good strong love between a parent and child!!! You keep up the good work and keep instilling all those great values in your Little Princess!!! Good luck on your weight loss journey!!! Take care!
  2. Yes God is good. I'm glad they found it before the surgery. Take care!
  3. As everyone else has told you you do not have to say a word. You only have to tell them that you are having a minor procedure which will require you to stay over night in the hospital. You will have to get short term disability if your company offers it. Your short term disability provider will not tell your employer what procedure you are having. Check your company's human resources policies I'm sure there is something there. You don't even have to tell your human resources representative what procedure you are having. Hope this helps!! Please keep us posted. Take really good care of yourself!
  4. Everything will go great!! Good luck and keep us posted!!!
  5. Kellz!!! You sound like you are doing great!! Keep up the good work!! Remember the first few days are the hardest but it will get easier. I got sleeved on 5/13 and I feel like my old self only lighter!! I go back to work on 5/31. I'm eating soft scrambled eggs, soft broccoli cheese soup, soft stewed chicken. I'm eating about 1/2 cup at each meal along with a glass of fat free/lactose free milk [trying to get in my protein!!] I just started getting in all of my vitamins and so far so good!! Please keep us posted on your progress. Take real good care of yourself!!
  6. Hi Mina. Of course the decision is yours but I do hope you tell your sisters at least. You can even call them while you are being seated on the plane. Don't let whatever "anyone" says change your mind and remember that the decision is yours. Good luck to you on your weight loss journey and keep us posted!
  7. Congrats on the NSV!!! Keep working that protein girl!
  8. Congrats on the weight loss and the upcoming wedding!!!!
  9. Glad to hear that you are doing so well. I was sleeved on 5/13 and so far so good. I was cleared for full liquids yesterday so I went to my favorite Chinese restaurant and bought some won ton Soup. I added some shreaded chicken for Protein, 1 egg roll, 3 teaspoons of fried rice from my hubby's plate and pureed it in my blender and put it in a coffee cup. NOTHING has ever tasted so good!!! I was smiling from ear to ear!!! It took me almost 3 hours to get it down but it was soooooooooo worth it!!! Good luck on your weight loss journey and keep us posted!! Take care!!
  10. Hi Fairyfaye!! Dang you are already back at work??? You are a real woman!! I'm not going back until the Tuesday after Memorial Day. We are doing great! I went for a walk outside yesterday to the end of my subdivision and then sat by the Water to watch the ducks for about 30 mins. Felt really good to have the sun on my skin!! I go for my 1 week pre op tomorrow so I'm excited about that. According to my scale I've lost 5 lbs since my surgery but I'll take whatever weight loss I can get!! Honey my incisions are itching too!!! I just keep my stomach well oiled with grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil to make sure the skin doesn't get too dry. Congrats on the 8lbs!!!! Today I mixed some chicken/rice/noodles Soup together in a blender with alot of chicken broth. It was really good and didn't hurt that much. I'm glad to hear that you are doing so well. Take care and keep in touch!
  11. I have a furry white tongue. What is this from and how can I get rid of it!!
  12. Hello All!! Just checking in. My sister and I had our surgery on 5/13. We are still in the hospital due to some unforseen things that happened but we are doing great!! Everyone on here seems like they are doing great!! Take care everyone!

  14. Hello VSG family!! Well me and LadyVelvet got sleeved yesterday. Had some unforeseen things happen but all is good now. We will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow. Yep we are a walking/sipping/walking machine!! That's all we do is walk, walk, sip, sip! Just wanted to give ya'll an update. We are doing GREAT!!! I'm so glad we did this! No regrets on my end! Take care!!
  15. Well today is THE DAY!!! I'm sitting in the middle of my bed freshly scrubbed, dressed and ready to go [i don't leave for another hour but so what!] I have packed and re-packed my bag so I hope I don't forget anything. My sister and I are going in today for the VSG. She goes first, I go second. She's a few years older than me and deserves to go first, that is how we were raised. She is my older sister and we were taught to respect each other no matter what. Love that woman more than words could ever say!!    We went and picked up our Mom last night so that she could be with us. Our husbands and grown children will all be there. Yes we are a very close knit family. We have researched and prayed over this procedure for months so we are more than ready. We will post an update tomorrow and let everyone on this fabulous board know how we are doing. Peace & Blessings to everyone!
  16. I track it all on myfitnesspal.com. It really works for me and it takes out the guess work!!
  17. Oh loving that new SKINNY avatar pic!!! You go girl!!! Keep it up!
  18. @Texasgal: Now THAT'S how you introduce yourself!!! Leave it to a Native Texan to invite you into their world and make you feel right at home!!! Howdy from 2sweetnsugarland!!! I know what you mean by going to bed thin and waking up obese. That's how it seems to alot of people especially me!! I can honestly say though that I've enjoyed every single bite of food that came my way and contributed to my "over finess"!! Well enough of that stuff . . . it's all about trying to be healthy now and leading a long and happy life for me and my family! YYYIIIPPPEEE and Congrats on your new sleeve !! My sister and I are getting sleeved tomorrow at Memorial Herman [Dr. Garth Davis]. Please keep us posted on your progress. Take very good care of yourself! See you on the looser's bench!
  19. Now ya'll knew I had to chime in after I read my Bestie's [LadyVelvet] post!!! Ditto and double ditto to everything that she said!!! She called me on the phone to tell me that she had started another post so I had to hang up with her and read it myself because I didn't want her to hear me cry! I'm sitting here at my desk at work sipping on my pre-op Clear liquids and thinking that this time tomorrow I'll be in OR meeting Itty Bitty Belly for the first time!! WOW!!! Just WOW!!! Seems like we just started this journey a few weeks ago and the big day is already here!! I'm too tickled at the thought of not taking any more meds and leading a healthier life for me and my family!!! Bless you to all the Sleevers that have gone on before us. Thanks for all the invaluable advice that I have received/read since joining this forum!! I know my Itty Bitty Belly is just like a gym membership . . . it won't work if you don't use it!! Trust me I plan on using it and making sure it stays Itty Bitty!!! Smooches and much love to everyone!!! See you all on the looser's bench!!!
