  1. It's where my band is, basically, where I got cut, where it hurts. I'm had a few sips of soup earlier and I immediately felt sick and im guessing there's gas as well because the nurses told me there was going to be. Maybe Im' just sensitive..but then again, it's only been 3 days. I am never comfortable, no matter what position I sleep in
  2. I got banded on the 17th, we are now Friday the 20th I believe and I'm still in sooooooooooo much pain. I'm home now (got home today) and no matter how I position myself, I am not comfortable. I'm starting to wonder if I did the right thing..
  3. Tomorrow is my big day. I have to be at the hospital for 7. I'm nervous. Very nervous. I'll be ok though. I really want this
  4. but what i don't get is the part where you have to cut and paste it so that it's always on the bottom of every post you make. where do you cut and paste it? you can't always be doing it.
  5. How do you put the ticker thing on your posts? I tried doing it and I had no idea where to paste the ticker info! I'm dumb =
  6. oh don't worry, I will haha. But thank you! I'm excited because this pre-op diet they have is killing me. I haven't had a real meal in 2 weeks. Slim-fast is terrible!
  7. I get banded in 3 days. January 17th Yay!
  8. I've had so many incidents where I've been mocked, pointed at, laughed at, insulted, I've had guys come up to my face and go AHHHHHHHH, I've passed by guys in a club and I'd randomly turn around to them being all like AHHHHH behind my back, but I can remember a few that just stung. I was walking home with a friend and some guys in a car yelling "YOU'RE FAT". that was humiliating. Being on the subway and some guy making a round motion to his friend. two stupid kids saying shit to me , getting off the subway and one was making a fat gesture and one pointed at me. Having things thrown at me in a bar. It came to the point where I had anxiety leaving my house. I'd avoid crowds, or large amount of ppl that looked like they would laugh at me. My step mother telling me I couldn't use the trampoline cause I'd break it. Noone wanting to sit next to me on the bus cause I take up too much room. Being called an ugly cow by some guy on a bus. Oh. The best. This one I'll remember forever. We were in a club and some guy came up and started talking to me. I thought he was some guy I knew so I was nice to him. Then he goes "oh, my friend over there likes you and wants to get to know you better". I look over and the guy is shaking his head no and all their friends are laughing. I basically got used as the "ugly fat girl" bait. Things like this happen to me on a daily basis, which is why I decided to get banded.
  9. I'm being banded on the 17th! I'm nervous, but I'm only nervous about how I'll feel after. The temporary pain, nothing more. I figure it like this. I've always wanted to be like the others, and if that means I have to deal with it, then I will. as for the food, ok at first you can't eat much, but after a while, small portions of things isn't going to kill you. You just can't overdo it. Then again, what do I know...I'm not even banded yet. This is just what i've read/heard. Be excited! not scared :huggie:
  10. Oh it has. I'm getting banded next week! Thanks
  11. Actually, it is an excellent question to ask here because I was wondering the same thing. Sometimes I wonder if I should of waited out the list of gastric bypassers and just done that, but after weighing out the pro's and con's , i realized the good choice. Gastric bypass is quick, and it's great for people who want results fast, but then what happens when the weight comes back on? Your stomach stretches, it's not adjustable. Lapband comes off slowly, but in the end, the weight doesn't come back and even if it does, you can always adjust your band, which is great. In the end, the results will come and with both, the surgery is just a tool. It's just a matter of how patient you are. Plus, this is way safer.
  12. In Canada, specifically Montreal, to get the operation, you're on a waiting list that is now up to 7 years, unless you're super super super super obese, which is 3-5 years, so count yourself lucky that you've only got 6 months. I waited 2 years for mine and the only reason I waited 2 years is because I heard from an insider that a new clinic was opening up and the list was short. Short = 2 years.
  13. Well. I'm new to this. I didn't think it would happen, but it did. I've never been thin. Sometimes I think it's because I didn't try, but I did. I ate healthy and went to the gym and was in sports, but that didn't change anything. But I finally waited a long long time to get that call from the hospital setting up appointments and now, it's happened. My prep is on Monday and My surgery is January 17th. I'm scared, but excited. Right now I'm on a slim fast pre surgery diet to clean out the liver, or something. Not too sure what it is but i can only drink slim fast and eat raw veggies at night for supper , like a handfull. That's really hard, but I'm doing it. Long story short, it's a long journey but I'm glad it's happening.
