Any Regrets after Lap Band Surgery ?

    Not getting it sooner!

    Need some new exercise ideas.

Okay so I was banded March 11th and the weight is starting to really come off now. I've been exercising as much as possible and being so much more active. Actually for the first time I went to the lake. I was so surprised, because before when I was 327 pounds there was no way I'd have ever got in a bathing suit on a boat. lol. Anywho, I'm down to 260.5 now and I'm wanting to switch up my exercise routine, without overdoing it. Right now I'm doing 30 minutes every morning of cardio. My mom and I do different machines every day. We have an elliptical and a treadmill so we rotate. I'm always working really hard to. I make sure to keep my pulse in the 150-160 range and I sweat like a man. Any ideas of how to spice things up?

I really don't think I can do it

I'm not 18, but I've had my band since March and I wish I had had this surgery when I was 18. I'm only 23 right now and this band has taught me so much about myself. Just sit down and really weigh the pros and cons. The pain is very minimal. I didn't even get pain medication. I got up, walked straight out of the hospital and was back to school the next morning.

I have a 7 month old German Shepherd. He's the best. He's from working lines and we're getting into tracking and SAR. He's an amazing dog!

    Should I exercise or not?

Okay I am going to continue to exercise I really missed exercising. I liked the way I felt. I was getting into my older jeans from the bottom of my closet. I was feeling amazing. I agree that the 15 pounds of weightloss is probably from the exercise previous to that it's just annoying that in order to see that I had to stop the exercise to see my scale move. I am going to go back to exercising 6 days a week like I was and then up my calories to about 1400. Does that sounds better?

    Should I exercise or not?

Okay here's what happened to me. In May I worked my ass off. I worked out 5-6 days a week for 30-40 minutes and killed it. I was eating 1200 calories a day and getting around 80 grams of Protein. But I didn't loose anything I only lost 3 pounds. My doctors were really upset and I felt really discouraged as well. In June I continued to work out, not loosing anything. However when my work out partner went on vacation I stopped working out. In that 10 days, I lost 15 pounds. So what should I do? Should I stop working out as much? Maybe 3 to 4 times a day? Or should I just stop and let the weight fall off that way? I like working out but I want to work out and also loose weight. Can I do both?
  10. Okay so I work out 40 minutes of cardio in the mornings. I'm working my way slowly up to an hour. I am now going to start lifting in the evenings as well probably about 20-30 minutes starting out, nothing hardcore or heavy. I just want to do some lightweight toning, small weights, leg exercises and situps..etc. My question being I just recently moved my calories up to 1200 because I was only eating 1000 but I saw a huge stall on the scale and figured I wasn't eating enough. Should I leave it at 1200? Or will the lifting in the evenings cause me to need to increase my calories too? Thanks for your input!

    Is this normal?

Okay so I had my second fill yesterday my first fill I didn't feel anything really. So all of this is new.. I am now at 3.5ccs. So... I did the 24 hours of liquids like they wanted me to. I had a yogurt and ceral(dry) this morning, all was good. For dinner I made a hamburger and some fries. Well I tried eating a fry and almost died. It was immediately stuck. I stopped...I let it clear down, felt it unlodge and what not. (Not my first stuck episode.) So I thought I hadn't chewed enough. I then ate a few pieces of the hamburger, all was good, went down fine. I went back to the fries...made sure to chew and chew...stuck again. So my question is...am I too tight? Or is it I'm just not going to be able to tolerate fries?
  13. Let me explain. I researched the band back in January decided it was the surgery I wanted. I drained my entire savings and went for it. I lost 27 pounds on the pre op diet. I did the healing and just got my first fill yesterday. I now have 2 Ccs in my band. Im still so hungry I could eat a small buffalo. I feel no restriction at all and my scale is still stuck at what I was after my pre op diet. When will the weight loss come? I'm so tired of waiting. When will I feel less hungry? I can't talk to my doctors because their morons. They don't even want me counting calories... I feel so uneducated. I just want information. What to expect!!!! When will results show. I have all this pressure from my family to loose weight and they are now saying things like I wasted 16,500 dollars. It's really depressing. Can someone just tell me what to do to loose some weight!!!!!!!

    Counting Calories..

So um... My doctor is against counting calories but I want to start counting calories and keeping a food log. So basically he's no help. I was wondering if someone could tell me how to pick a good calorie deficit to put myself at. Is there any specific way to calculate it? Thanks for the help. I had my first fill today. It was kind of painful but it's all good now. I have 2cc's in my band. Thanks in advance!

    Needing support.

So I could really use some support with this band. Is anyone interested in maybe swapping emails and being like weightloss buddies? To check in on one another and seeing how each other is doing? I'm feeling really discouraged at the moment. I'm 2 weeks post op this morning and the scales a little high. I know not to expect weightloss the first 6 weeks.. I'm just, conflicted. Yesterday I met 3 people who had the band and all were still severely overweight. I'm scared I wasted a lot of money and I just want to feel better about it. I'm especially worried because my Mom is the one that paid for my surgery and she's starting to get really frustrated... She just doesn't understand. Plus I have people telling me different things. My doctors office is telling me to never count calories, never diet again...etc...because they said the band does it all. I can't see that happening!!
