I have been in your shoes. I would lose three pounds and then gain 2 back next month, back and forth. I am a year out and just now started losing at a steady weight. It took me about four or five fills before i felt the restriction. Everybody openingto stomach is different so there are a few of us that it takes a few fills before the pounds start dropping. It does work with time. I am finall losing so just be patient and use the tool.

That's great. I think after a year of fills and 2 unfill's I have found my too.
  4. This is for all of us who get discourage when we don't lose as fast as everyone else. I read all these blogs about the quick weight lose or discouraged about only losing 10 pounds. I sometimes get discouraged because in almost a year I lost 40 lbs. The majority of this weight has been in last few months. I lose on average 1/2 or 1 pound a week. I work out 5 days a week. I felt like a failure for the first 6 months because I wasn't losing and put my family in such a financial debt. I have finally started losing steady and feeling good about myself. I just wanted to let the people out there know that everyone's body is different. Some lose fast and other's slow. Some feel restriction with surgery and many others 4 or 5 fill's later. Everyone is different. Everyone's opening to stomach is different. I have lost slow but my health is improving. I am off almost all medicine. I have more energy and my self confidence is out of this world. Don't get discourage because you didn't lose 25lbs first month like Joe Blow. We will all get there at our body's own pace. Take it one day at a time.

  8. That's wonderful, Keep up the great work.:bananajump:
  9. Thanks, I didn't think about it that way.
  10. I have an appointment November 7th to have a fill but, I was thinking I wantto wait until after Thanksgiving. I am headed to my Grandma's in Alabama for Thanksgiving and really want to enjoy the holidays but at same time do not wantto jeaperdize my weight lose. My husband are driving from Texas and decided to stay a few days in New Orleans. I have never been to New Orleans but all my friends keep giving me restaruants I need to eat at. Why does entertainment always revolve around food? My question is should I wait until I get back so I may experience the food of New Orleans and Grandma's or stay on track to my weight loss goals.
  11. Glad you found what was causing the problem. Best wishes on lsoing weight and kidney function.
  12. I didn't start feeling restriction untill my 4th fill. I am 10 months out and just really startedto drop weight. The first few months I was like a yoyo lose a few and gain and then lose a few and gain. I am finally at a steady rate of losing.
  13. Thank you, I feel like such a failure for not losing evern though I work out 6 days a week.
  14. I had my band in November 2010. I had several months where I had lose and then next month gained. I felt like a failure and waisted money but my doctor always was supportive and explained everyone's body is different and people openings to stomach is larger than other. I am just now finally losing weight at a steady rate of 5lbs a month. I work out 7 days a week and watch what I eat. Don't starve your body expecially if you are working out. The weight will start dropping off. Best wishes on your journey.
  15. I go to Jazzercise and love it. I also walk with some friends I made at jazzercise.

  17. I had to do the same. DO you have blue cross/ blue shield? It al works out. I had all three my doctors send over to insurance. Diabetic coctor, OBGYN, & primary doctor. Just pray and it will be fine.
  18. I have found the lap-band a roller coaster with emotions. You also need to wonder if you will be a bl e to swallow your meds. I had to get off of mine. Rita
