  1. it didn't bring your name up for me on MFP!
  2. Honestly, I never get that full feeling. I just finished lunch 30 minutes ago and still feel like I want to eat something! Time for another water bottle....
  3. A life time of habits are hard to break! Just because you get the band doesn't mean you wont want those same foods. Hang in there!
  4. ok, I am going to add you all too! I am holbraden. I have been battling the same few pounds since Feb! This morning I got to 149 again, so my ticker is right after going back up to 152 last week!
  5. well, I find that I never feel full at least not to the extent that I used to feel presurgery. I measure/weigh what my meal should be and sometimes satisfied, sometimes not. I have just accepted that this is really all that I need and that how I ate before is what got me into this situation! I used to eat until I was stuffed and had to be rolled away from the table. Getting over the realization that s atisfied does not equal stuffed was a hard one at first for me. In fact it is something I have been battling once again in my head lately! I would def think it's time to get another fill. I had my first 2 fills at about 5 and 7 weeks post surgery. I have had 11 fills and 2 slight unfills in 14 months.
  6. My dr never said anything about not drinking 30 minutes before eating....maybe I mentally blocked that out. Now they told us we can sip a little bit of water while eating and to wait in between bites like you would your food. I don't drink much during meals, but having a tiny sips sure is nice!
  7. If she thinks you are too tight and you feel no restriction, request an upper GI to check how open the stoma is. I had mine done and it showed that she was able to give me another fill. I was happy because she thought I was tight enough and I don't have much restriction and can still eat alot at one sitting. I def eat more than 1/2 cup that's for sure. But I do count my calories to keep myself on track. though I am first to admit it has been a struggle lately!
  8. That's along time to wait! If I were you and felt better next week I would try to get in!
  9. Why are they making you wait so long? I have had 2 unfills and was able to go back in the next week.
  10. well, my PA said sometimes they aren't able to pull everything that is in your band out to measure it. .2 is such a small amount, maybe you didn't really lose any.
  11. been there, done that! own it and move on, though sometimes easier said than done! Good luck, if you don't already do so now, start journaling and keep track of what you eat. Sometimes seeing it on paper or on myfitnesspal.com may make you think twice about eating something. I'm trying to break the candy habit from Easter still!
  12. Buy yourself a cute new outfit in one size too small. Buy yourself some cute new workout clothes to wear now! I bought some new shorts, tops and workout bra yesterday and I worked out both Saturday and Sunday! You did it once, you can do it again!
  13. Hello there. I know where you are coming from. I am 14 months out and thought my hunger would have been better controlled too. I am hoping this fill from this past week will do it. I can still eat bread, rice, pasta. My dr thought I was filled to the limit too, so she ordered an upper GI. I am happy that showed that I could get another fill. Maybe you should request the exam as well. What has helped me lately is eating a 4th meal now. I have it around 10:30ish and then have lunch around 2. I also journal my food intake. I have been eating about 1300 calories a day which is more than I would really like to be at for the day. For the first year I kept it to about 1000 a day and it has just been so much harder lately. Hang in there, I wish you luck!
  14. Journaling is HUGE for me, even 14 months out.
  15. yep, I'd day throw it out! Mine is all gone, I know what you are going through. I couldn't wait for Easter to be over. I am def an addict, feel like a junkie getting my fix when eating some good See's Candy!
  16. 6 days post op? Doesn't your dr still have you on liquids?
  17. I used to love pasta, prob had it at least twice a week before surgery. I can still eat it but I don't any more. When I make it for my family I will just have the meat sauce and add a little bit of cheese. I still have to count my calories so for me, it's not worth it.
  18. One can not live by carbs alone!! Atleast not this girl!
  19. hmmm, my dr recommended oatmeal before for breakfast. I either have eggs with 1/2 ounce chedder or a contaiianer of greek yogurt with 1/2 c Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal with a few sliced up strawberries.
  20. I am 14 months out and I still don't stay full for hours. Hoping today's fill does the trick.
  21. Good luck to you. I can honestly say though that my saving grace has been counting calories. I am not one of the lucky one's who rarely feels hungry until 4 hours after the last meaI. I know that I did so good the first year staying around 1000 calories a day. Been struggling with a couple pounds up and down for the last 2 months and I know that it's because I have been eating more calories. I'd say give it a try. What could it hurt?
  22. well, #1 for me is slowing down my eating. Before surgery I could eat a huge plate of food in a matter of minutes. If I did that now, the food would buildup in the pouch and it would make me throw it up. It's not the same kind of sick as when you have the flu. It starts as a lot of saliva coming out and then maybe a little bit of food. Now I measure out what I am supposed to eat and take my time. This has kept my intake to what it should be.
