  1. Where did you have you band surgery? I am having a Allergan band at False Creek Medical in Vancouver & it is under warrenty for 1 year. I would ask to speak to a manager at Allergan. Are you self pay? Good luck! K
  2. Robin - yes, I will be thinking of everyone! Good luck all! Big hugs!!!
  3. I am being banded on Wed, Feb 9 & want to lose 100 lbs. I have done well on the pre-op and want to lose 40 lbs by summer!
  4. Janet, Your journey is very motivating! Sounds like I am were you came from. I hope to be at the same stage as you over the next year. I am self pay and being banded this wed, feb 9. Those that want to connect for support & this journey to sucess feel free to friend me. Good luck all! Cheers, Kristi
  5. Wow, sounds like we are all having the same feelings. I am in Canada and self paying at $17K so I have to make this work. I am 44 yrs old and at my heaviest. I have to get my old self back or I won't live to be 50 or 60 yrs of age. The lap band is a tool. You still need to watch what you eat & exercise... I have always been in great shape my entire life. In the last 6 yrs I have ate the same but I gain weight so easily. I went away at Christmas and ate sandwichs for lunch and choclate every day. It isn't like I sneak food. I gained 10 lbs for every week away with a total of 20 lbs. Pre-op I am on day 12 and down 10 lbs. I am being banded on Wed Feb 9. I lost 40 lbs 2 yrs ago. Since I have a back injury my weight is a real problem and I put the weight back on & more. I have big boobs at 44 DD. Hate them. I hope to get down to a 38C again. With age & gravity that might not be possible if so I am getting a bob reduction or lift. I have 3 friends that have been banded. One of them had a boob job & tummy tuck... 4 more days and the new journey of the next phase begins! Good luck all!
  6. The Jello & broth are my saviors. I have at least 4 jellos in the fridge ready to go. So I don't get off track. I went to a 2 movie's and I love popcorn. I just took 2 jellos with me to keep me busy. Every time I just ate 1 jello. I always carry back up food with me in case I get hungry. How did your surgery go? How do you feel? Keep me posted. I get banded this Wednesday. Have a great weekend!
  7. I have killer acid reflux today. Not sure how that can be with so little food. I skipped a day of medication because I felt good and it has put me off. I took a 2nd pill (Pantorrazole) today. Half way to my surgery on the pre-op diet. Yipee! Have a great night all. K
  8. Yipee Good luck keep us posted I am 1 week away to be banded. I can't wait!
  9. That is how I found out was pre-op testing. Turns out I am moderate to severe and stop breathing 15 times and hour. I am on the CPAP machine and struggle using it. Thanks to support from other on this site I have gone back to using my machine. I also was told I have diverticulm & a sliding hiatus hernia with pre-op testing. I was so scared they would reject me from having the band. As in Canada this is a new surgery and we have strict medical guidlines. Good luck!
  10. I have been getting creative with my pre-op diet and live off of broth & Jello. What is your pre-op diet? Keep you eye on the prize!
  11. Elle, My BFF has kept off all the weight but ganined a bit when she had emergancy surgery. She did have her band filled for 2 years and now she is back at it. Thanks for all your support. Keep in touch & best of luck! K
  12. Tomorrow is myhalf way point to banding! Yipee! We are both almost there! You are more of a scale junkie! I will only way myself before having anything to eat or drink and usually after bathroom time. Once I have had food and drinks I will never get on the scale. I am starving right now as I right this. Thanks god for tea, zero cal drinks, broth & jello! My parents don't know as they are out of town on vacation. I also didn't want my dad to give me his opinion as he can be hurtfull. Only my hubby, sister-in-laws & BFF know. If people have asked I too have used the hernia storey. Have a great rest of the week! Cheers, Kristi
  13. Kiskis posted a blog entry in Kiskis' Blog
Al is going well. I am in the zone! I am almost half way to my surgery! I can't wait! I have been out for dinner & a movie. All was good but hard. As I had to sit right beside triscuts & natcho chips my favorite! Go to the movie & no popcorn was a major success. I thought I couldn't do it but no problem. I just took jello with me. My poor hubby has had to put up with me being a bitch on this low cal diet. I am down 6 lbs and will be mearsurements tomorrow! I have been good exercising what I can with my back. As my back has been really sore. Yesterday had a great walk along the sea wall & swim at the TCC. God I want to fast foward to my surgery date!
  14. I am doing better & getting in the zone. My surgery is next Wed. I think my bitchness is more of a problem now. My poor hubby! Good luck & keep in touch! Kristi
  15. God for you! I am always hungry but getting through ok. Yesterday had dinner out at my in-laws a little worried. All went well I just packed a cooler of Jello, my shake for dinner & broth. Today I also went to a movie and was bothered by the popcorn. Again I brought jello to keep me busy and feel like I had a treat. I just completed day 6. Almost halfway to surgery. Good luck with your consult! K
  16. Thanks everyone for your comments. I have got back on to my CPAP machine and the last nights have been no problem? I have been sleeping on my side and it has been ok. I can't thank you all enough for your support. xoxo
  17. That is execllent! Keep us posted! I will be at the half way mark for the pre-op onTuesday and that much closer to my surgery date of Feb 9. I can't wait! I woke up hugry today and craving a scambled eggs & cheese. Good luck!
  18. I am on day 5 pre-op diet. I have been light headed and headaches. That is normal. I have been doing 30 mins of cardio to give me more energy and I think it might be as I usually eat more protien than I get from the shakes.
  19. I did for my health. I am 44 and weigh 257 and on a path of self destruction. I have lost a lot of weight over the years but like most people I have lost the same 40 lbs a hundred times over. I have had a bad back injury that holds me back from excerising as much as I need to loose the weight. My boobs are too bif too 44 DD. I want to get back to a 38C. Not to mention gravity and age is starting to set in. Also I am always good all day and over eat at night or on the weekends. Or on the weekends go for the pizza, natchos as I have a stressful job. I am very excited about my surgery on Feb 9th. I can't wait to start the amazing journey! K
  20. Excellent, that is great news! I have have never had surgery and a little worried so you post is very reassuring. I have bad allergies. Should I take an allergy pill that day? Keep us posted with your recovery. Let me know how many days you need to take off from work. I am taking off 3 days plus 2 on a weekend and working from home on the first day back to work. Have a great weekend! Cheers, K
  21. I will keep trying. I will try the mask again again tonight and the rest of the weekend. Thanks guys!
  22. Yes, I am aware of how serious it can be. My GP is OK with me not using it as it is weight related. The sleep clinic said the same thing. I have been playing telephone with the sleep clinic as I would like to try another mask. Hopefully a different mask will help. The Sleep Clinic also wanted me to go for sleep obersavation. My GP & I decided not at this time. We will look at things after my surgery. K PS - I love the graphics
  23. Thanks, I am in the zone and focus on the prize!! How great that you have your surgery on Tuesday. That will be my half way point on the pre-op and a week away from mine. Keep up the amazing results & have a great weekend! K
  24. I work for myself so I don't get that person with my clients. I am a human resources consultant. I haven't told many people. My parents don't know. Only a few know as I don't want people passing judgement... Or after asking how much have you lost? After the surgery I will share with my family and some friends. We will see how things go. I have no problem sharing but once I am successful & know what it is like on the other side. My BFF had it done 8 years ao and lost 150 lbs. Don't let people get you down! Rise above them. Keep up the great work! Have a great weekend! K
  25. I am on day 4 the hunger pains have gotten better. My diet isn't as strict I can have as much broth, Jello & zero-10 calorie items. I have been having jello an broth to fill in between my 2 shakes and 1 bar. I don't understand why you can't have jello... anything 0-10 cal? Yah I have to pee every 2 hours and sometimes more. My goal right now is to get to the half way mark. I hope these next 13 days go by real quick! When I watch tv what taped shows and fast forwad past all commercials. Good job on the weight loss! Keep up the great work! Cheers, K
