I am currently working with my Wellness Director where I work on getting a support group started there. I was Banded December 1 and I am down 70lbs since starting my pre-op diet. I have hit a few weeks where my weight loss has slowed and got a little discouraged. Talking with her and trying to get the group started I hope will help me and others. We will also open this to gastric also and to people who are interested in the surgery. If anyone is working with support group please send me ideas on how to conduct these meetings. I am now hopefully back on track with the weight loss and continuing my workout routine. Any ideas would be appreciated. THANKS!

I was banded December 1, 2010. Had my first fill of 3cc January 7. I had lost 65lbs up to my first fill. Weighed this week and did not lose any and did not gain. I am a little dissapointed, but I will not quit what I am doing. I have been working out and with this fill I thought I would still lose, but I did not. I will need to keep a log of what I eat and see if that helps. Disgusted but optimistic also.

Snacks and sodas were my most favorite things before I was banded. I was banded December 1, 2010. I have lost a total of 65lbs since I started my pre-op diet November 17. I quit cold turkey of sodas and only snacking I do now is yogurt or sugar free jello. I do not bring snacks in the house and only time I get tempted is when I am at work. I do not drink while I am eating, very hard thing to do. When I am eating out I will have water right up to when I eat and then ask server to take glass away, takes out the temptation. Wish you success on this, hope things get better.

Walk right past the gym when I leave, it is hard to stop. So easy to just leave and go home.

I am working evening shift right now, getting ready to be off work and hit the gym. I am fortunate to have a top notch gym to use right here at work. We have everything you see in most big gyms. Go to Dr Friday and may recieve my first fill. Hope everyone has a great day!

Just follow all the instructions that you Dr. gives you. The two weeks that I fasted before surgery started out tough, after about four days in it got easier. I had to do that thru Thanksgiving. After banding I just followed instructions the best I could do. I quit drinking pop and beer two weeks before fasting and have not missed it for nothing. Water and Crystal Light drinks mixes are my new best friend. For my fasting I used EAS Carb-Advantage protien drinks for meal replacement. Due to having to work I was allowed to have white albacor tuna and canned chicken breast meat drained for added protien in moderation. Breakfast after surgery consists of oatmeal and turkey sausage patties or scrambled egg whites with little cheese mixed in and some bacon everynow and again. I am now eating regular meals and not drinking while I eat. I do try to order off kids menu when I eat out. When I order regular meals I do not even eat half and take home for later. When you thinks you are full quit. Drink as much water as you can before you eat and about 1 to 11/2 hrs after you can start drinking again. It has taken alot of self control to do this, but I am happy with the results so far. Your mind tells says you are hungry but really you are not, that is what I had to fight and still do.
  7. This is my first time on here. I had my surgery December 1st 2010. From pre op to post I have lost 64lbs. I am excited to start off 2011 with this TOOL to help me become healthier. My Journey has been uneventful, insurance approval was quick and I had found a great Dr. I have had great support from family and friends, my sister has been there for me from the beginning.
