You are doing great!

5 1/2 months in and I think I'm finally "getting it".
I am going through the same thing at times too. The guilt we feel is horrible isn't it? I think that is the worst part. I think we all want to lose the wt. so rapidly and when we don't - sometimes we just get frustrated and give into temptation! I am gonna try harder too! At the rate I am gong I will not make my goal by my birthday in Sept. if I don't kick it up a bit! Good luck to you and to all banders out there who are getting frustrated!

Testing my Limits!
Yep you are experiencing what most of us banders have! A lull in your progress and hunger. Sounds like you need a fill soon. Don't be discouraged. I think it is great that you are using the treadmill and getting exercise. Not all of us can do that, so be proud of yourself that you can! Stay focused and keep us posted on your progress. Good luck!

June 5
You are not alone in your feelings. Most banders have gone through what you are feeling right now. You will have good and bad days, but try to focus on your goal. And when you start seeing results you will be so excited to post them. Hang in there!

FOOD FOR THOUGHT!
I READ SOMEWHERE ON THE FORUMS ABOUT TAKING PHOTOS OF EVERYTHING YOU EAT FOR THE DAY VIA YOUR CELL PHONE OR CAMERA. THEN AT THE END OF THE DAY WHEN YOU WANT TO RECORD IT ALL - IT WILL BE FRESH IN YOUR MEMORY! SO I AM GONNA TRY THIS COZ I THINK I AM EATING TOO MUCH - BUT WHEN I TRY TO RECALL WHAT ALL I ATE FOR THE DAY - I CAN'T REMEMBER?

Checking in
Don't get discouraged. Many of us feel as you do from time to time. It is a hard struggle this lapband journey. It does not come easy that's for sure. But when you see the lbs. coming off, it is the best feeling in the world. I was cleaning out my closet yesterday for the first time in years. I previously avoiding doing it because I did not want to be reminded of the huge ugly large size clothes that I had been wearing. Well now that I am only 4 months post op and down from size 3x to extra large, it is just amazing at how huge those clothes look to me now. I actually got a sick feeling in my stomach looking at them and I vowed to myself never to ever get like that again. It feels wonderful to be 50 lbs. less already. So I am telling you the struggle every day is def worth it. Hang in there you will see! Do other things to distract yourself from eating, drink more water and low cal liquids. And if you have to eat something, make sure it is low cal low fat. Get rid of all the junk food in the house. This will make it so much easier. And don't forget to add protein to your everyday diet. The more the better. I sprinkle protein powder in sugar free puddings, etc. You can't taste it and it def makes you feel fuller. I still drink at least one protein shake a day for the extra protein. Good luck to you, and keep us posted.

Need Reassurance
I understand as I also go through mood swings and depression, as I am sure alot of us banders do. Congrats on your wt. loss - that is awesome! You should be very proud of yourself. Cheer up and try to have a wonderful day!

how to get meats to go down okay
Cook your meats in a crockpot, add some cream of chicken or other cream base soup or sauce or gravy. It will be very tender and will go down so much easier. I use the crockpot for most of my meals now!

Nissen fundoplication
HI! When did you have your procedure done? How are you doing with it? My sister had it done 3 months ago and is so sick from it. She was considering lapband in the first place which I was hoping she would do, as they could have fixed her hiatal hernia at the same time like they did mine. I don't know if lapband is an option for you now or not. Maybe someone on here will know for sure. Good luck.

LAPBAND - 4 MONTHS POST OP
WELL I HAD MY DR. APPT. TODAY. I LOST ANOTHER 3 1/2 LBS. FOR A TOTAL OF 50 LBS. YEAH!! I AM AT MY HALF WAY GOAL NOW. I ALSO GOT A FILL BEING MY 3RD. - 1/2 CC. MAKING A TOTAL OF 5.75 CC IN A 10 CC BAND. IT DIDN'T HURT THIS TIME EITHER. THE DR. ASSISTANT DID IT THIS TIME. YEAH! SO IT IS LIQUIDS TODAY, SOFT TOMORROW AND THEN REG DIET. I HOPE I HAVE ALOT MORE RESTRICTION NOW. I AM GOING TO TRY SOME GROUND LEAN HAMBURG SOON AS I HAVE YET TO HAVE THAT. I AM GETTIN TIRED OF CHICKEN, FISH, TUNA, AND SALMON. I ALSO ATTENDED MY GROUP SUPPORT MEETING TODAY. DR. RYS THE PSYCIATRISH WAS GUEST SPEAKER. HE WAS GREAT. VERY INSPIRATIONAL. THREE THINGS HE SAID THAT I WANTED TO SHARE WITH YOU. 1.) EVERY DAY THAT YOU DO GOOD, REWARD YOURSELF WITH SOMETHING. IT CAN BE AS SMALL AS A CARAMEL, OR A FLAVORED CREAMER FOR YOUR COFFEE OR TEA, OR IT CAN BE AS BIG AS NEW CLOTHING. IT WILL HELP YOU FEEL MOTIVATED. 2.) KEEP A JOURNAL. EVERY DAY WRITE DOWN ONLY THE GOOD THINGS THAT YOU DID FOR THE DAY. THEN READ IT EACH DAY. IT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE HAVING A DOWN DAY. 3.) HE SAID EVERYONE FAILS AT SOME POINT - AND WHEN YOU DO, PICK YOURSELF UP, DUST YOURSELF OFF, AND START ALL OVER AGAIN! SOUNDS LIKE GOOD ADVICE TO ME. I THINK I MAY JUST TRY THESE THINGS. SO HERE'S TO A WONDERFUL TOMORROW!!!

I am 1 month post op I have only lost 10 pounds
It def slows down quite a bit after that 1st month. It will pick up again just be patient. As long as you are eating as directed by your surgeon and exercising. The same thing happened to me. Some people actually gain some wt. after the 1st month before they start to lose again.
