  1. I have Celebrate Bariatric Chewable Multivitamin pineapple strawberry, it's so yummy! I also have Celebrate Bariatric Cherry Tart Chewable Calcium Yummy too!! Recommended By Tiffykins. She has the website for their free samples, I got them in 3 days, and found two flavors I loved!!
  2. my 12 wk class ended Feb. 15, and I will be having surgery April 14th. So it took me 6 months total from the first interest to surgery date.
  3. That's the perfect description. lol. I was just thinking an early spring cleaning, but yes nesting sounds right. I'm due to start my preop diet Thursday, so my goal is to deep clean every room by wednesday, so it'll all be done while I have the energy to do it.
  4. Ok. My doctor was not specific at all on the diet except to say that I should be on full liquids for ten days, clear for 4 before surgery. I was under the impression that full liquids were puddings, any kind of strained soup, milk, etc. I was even thinking possibly a jamba juice. Another girl who has a different surgeon, told me her surgeon said no milk, and no protein during clear liquids stage(which made NO sense to me, I already stocked up on Isopure clear proteins for this stage). Please let me know what your surgeons considered full liquids, and whether or not isopure clear protein was allowed in clear liquid stage. My liquids stage doesn't start til thursday, and I will call the surgeon Monday or Tuesday, but I was hoping to hear your experiences. Thank you!! Sarah
  5. Thanks for your responses. I did tell them about the surgery today. They did ask what type, and I told them. They are hiring me anyway, I start Monday!!
  6. I don't know much about the company. I'm hoping they'll still hire me even knowing that I'll be having surgery and have to take time off so soon after starting. I just feel that I shouldn't have to tell them the exact procedure I'm having. Thank you for your reply.
  7. So, I've been unemployed while going to school. I just got my surgery date a week or two ago, but I applied for a job before that. I had the interview yesterday. I got a call today that they intend on hiring me and putting me to work this weekend. I know that I can't perform some of the job functions (I'd be a home health CNA) after surgery. So how do I tell them this? I don't want to tell them it's an elective surgery, because they'll just say cancel it and work. Can I lie and say gallbladder or something? What other abdominal surgeries have roughly the same recovery time?
  8. Congratulations!! I am so excited for you!! Please be sure to keep us posted on your experiences.
  9. I currently have a very heavy cycle, with pains at ovulation. I was wondering if any others had these issues if they were cleared up when they lost the weight? If so that might become an amazing unexpected side affect of the sleeve.
  10. WOW!! 54 pounds is an amazing weight loss!!! Congratulations.
  11. I will be sleeved April 14th. My pre-op diet will begin April 1st.
  12. Just got mine today. 11 days liquids, allowing only for one scrambled egg, and one low fat string cheese. 3 days clear liquids last day clear liquids with two doses of Milk of Magnesia Then the next morning report for surgery.
  13. I'm 22, and I think that I might actually look my age after I've lost the weight. Right now, no one believes I'm 22 without seeing my license, people say I look 25 or 26. I'm definately looking forward to looking my age again
  14. I"m with Kaiser in Bakersfield,CA, and they want you to lose 10% of your bodyweight on your own(in 12 wks) before having the surgery. To them, this proves you're serious about the lifestyle changes you are going to have to make. I have changed my lifestyle, but not lost weight, and now I don't know if they'll approve my surgery or not. It seems silly to me too. Obviously if I could lose weight on my own, I would and not spend the money to have surgery.
  15. I told her I've kept at the calorie count recommended. I no longer eat fast food. I don't even allow chips or chocolate in my home. I've made HUGE changes, but my weight just isn't coming off. I've lost a few inches, but no difference on the scale.
  16. So, I had my psych consult last Wednesday, and it didn't go so well. She implied that I am definately not serious enough about this surgery since I haven't lost weight on my "diet." I am serious, I just have a really hard time losing (weight unless I'm at like 900 calories), while I'm on birth control pills. I've also had to switch pills at least twice during the 12 weeks I've been on my diet. I really hope that this doesn't mean that I can't have the surgery.
  17. Is the multivitamin you take chewable? Or can we swallow pills post op? I've heard different things from everyone who has come to talk to us, so I'm just a little confused.
  18. Has anyone heard of the bariatric fusion chewable multivitamins? I'm looking for an inexpensive vitamin that will be ok for after surgery. I'm also thinking that if I get this kind, then would I need anything else? Here's the nutritional link:http://www.bariatricchoice.com/bariatric-fusion-gastric-bypass-vitamins-supplements.html
  19. I'm an LVN student, and we practiced them on each other. I won't lie, it wasn't a pleasand experience. I also have a pretty bad gag reflex. Some of the other students did fine and said it wasn't annoying at all. Just if you're allowed, swallow the Water they give, and look down to swallow, it helps it pass down the throat easier.
  20. I'm an LVN student, it's my duty to do catheters for my patients. There is usually no bleeding or scarring after catheter insertion. It's usually a relatively painless procedure, although males do tend to express more discomfort than females. That said, as a patient, and a female, I really DO NOT want that catheter either!! I had some really bad experiences in the past, and would much rather get up to pee than have the catheter. It makes me feel a little better that we'll be out while it's inserted, but I'd like to be asleep while it's removed too. lol. I know it's completely irrational, but that's how I feel, and I'm sure my doctor and I will have to have a long talk about it before my surgery.
  21. I haven't had mine yet,but I'm well on my way and I'm 22. For the last two years, I have felt way older than I am. I have a two year old, and I have been unable to be as active as I would like. I can't even chase him at the park without needing a rest, and a two year old doesn't really understand that concept! lol. THis is the best decision I think I've ever made, even though I haven't gone through it yet. The possibility of being active enough to encourage my son to be active, and prevent obesity for him is well worth it. If you want to talk and some additional support on your journey, friend me.
  22. lol. THere are two other surgeons, so I'm going to request one of the others. This guys specialty is RNY anyways, I'm sure with his obvious distaste for sleeves at the meeting that he wouldn't perform a sleeve. I'm just hoping one of the other two surgeons come in quick to save the classes sanity.
  23. Just wondering how much everyone's girls shrank. I'm currently a 38DD, and hoping to at least stay a full C, like I was when I was skinny. Wondering how everyone's results were. Thanks.
  24. Thanks All!! I really think this guy was trying to scare us. I plan on calling the lady in charge of nutrition for sleevers monday, to see if she has anything different to say.
  25. I know. Now I'm questioning my commitment, which is probably what he wanted. I was prepared to go without real food for about 2 months, but I don't think I could do 5. We just met with one surgeon though( and he would only recommend the roux en y, so perhaps the diet is for those patients), so I 'm just praying at this point that I get a different surgeon.
