  2. chloe here at 179.6lbs. 170s -yeah! only down .6 - boo However, I've noticed other changes. I have one of those scales that also does body fat %. I started my journey at 42% & was hanging steady around 37% but today was a new lowest low...33%! I'll take that progress have a great weekend cheers, chloe
  3. Hi - I fly a lot for work & have found it best to control as much as possible about the experience. Just takes more planning now. Some things are easy to get thru security - Protein powders, string cheese, Protein Bars, trial mix & empty Water bottle. Yogurt - not so much. I always get dehydrated so I fill up the water bottle after security. Helps me stay away from high-calorie drinks on the plane. I live in Denver & find when I go down in altitude my restriction lessens. Usually works out for the better since there are so many lunches, drinks & looooong business dinners/events when I'm on the road. If I'm going overseas or will be in one place for a few days, I'll stop by a grocery store & pick up some favs that'll keep me from ordering chocolate cake from room service at 11pm (its been known to happen!) good luck! chloe
  4. TKW is spot-on! I especially like the bit about the band being only 1/3 of the equation. I, too, was very hungry after that first fill. Welcome to bandster hell! I regarded that phase as kinda like bootcamp to learn & train how to be a bandster.....lots of Protein, small bites, lots of chewing, Water, etc, etc. The restriction will eventually come but you may find that your habits have already changed for the better even before hitting a sweet spot. One last thing....exercise, exercise, exercise. I do a combo of cardio & strength training. It has been absolutely essential for me. Best of luck! chloe
  5. chloe here. weighed in at 180.2 this morning. down 3.2!!!
  6. I love MFP! Definitely helps keep me on track. We can buddy up if you like...I'm on there as chloes_countdown. just send me an invite to connect. I find the whole thing very motivational
  7. Amber - I'm soooo right there with you! I think we were banded about the same time in December & I also hit a plateau when I hit 40lbs down.....but I just busted through it & you can, too. Change your routine is the best advice. I was doing 1100-1200 calories/day & I upped to 1400-1500/day. This was actually harder than I thought it would be. Make sure the additional calories are quality - no crap or junk food. Also, I changed up my workouts a bit. I switched out a Body Pump class for Pilates and added another cardio class. If this hadn't worked for me, I was going to start working out in the morning instead of after work like I do now. It took me about 2 weeks but I'm losing again & down 5lbs since making the adjustments. Good luck to you! chloe
  8. breakfast: protein shake snack: greek yogurt with 1T honey lunch: asparagus & goat cheese souffle (leftovers from last night) snack: string cheese or trial mix dinner: husband is cooking so its a steak, blue cheese, onion sandwich. I'll do it w/o bread

  11. hello all! Sorry I was MIA last Monday but I've been in Europe the entire week for business. Ah, Munich...the land of beer, schnitzel & big, doughy pretzels. I did manage to weigh myself last weekend before I got on the plane. I was at 185.8lbs. I did another "unofficial" weigh-in when I got back home. Lets just say it was not pretty. Which all makes me downright shocked with this morning's weigh-in: 185.4lbs. yippee!!! Goal for March Madness! Down 40lbs from start! Halfway to final goal! 3 month bandiversary!!! I'm looking forward to the April challenge...... cheers, chloe

Having the app on my phone makes it really quick to record everything. I consider this to be one my keys to success. good luck! chloe

Check out Title Nine Title Nine sports bras They have a great selection & I love, love, LOVE my "Last Resort" bra!! I have big boobs & don't like them to move, jiggle or bounce one iota no matter what I am doing. It may not be sexy but its very comfortable & it WORKS. All the hooks are in front - so no breaking my arms. I know its kinda pricey but considering how much time I'm spending in the gym - its worth it! Last Resort Bra cheers, chloe
  17. Name, real or screen~ Chloe Age~ 38 Weight on February 28th~ 193.6 Goal Weight for March 31st~ 185 (this is my halfway point - big number for me!) Exercise Goal for March~ kickboxing 2x week Dietary Goal for March~ stay focused on protein Personal Goal for March~ eat slower!!! 18. weighing in at 193.6lbs today only .8lbs loss from last week but I'll take it!! Below Feb goal of 195lbs My 2nd fill was waaaaaay too tight. I couldn't eat anything solid but never felt full on mushies. Gained 2lbs on my biz trip & then spent the rest of week sweating them off.... Bring on March Madness!!! chloe
  19. Hi! My BMI was just under 35 when I was banded on 12/20/10. Self-pay b/c I didn't want to deal with all the insurance headaches. Just like most folks on this site, I can lose weight - I've done it lots of times! But I run out of steam & then all the weight returns. I really see the band as longer term solution & so far its worked out just like that. I'm now 2 months out & 30lbs down. In past weight-loss endeavors, this is about the time I'd lose interest or focus. And, yes, I'm going though that typical pattern but then I just got a fill & viola! back on the "band" wagon! Good luck to you. cheers, chloe
  20. hello all!! checking in at 194.4lbs today - down 4lbs since last week. This also puts me under my Feb goal of 195lbs I got my 2nd fill on Thursday. Another 2.5ccs on top of 4.5ccs from first fill. I didn't feel a thing after that first fill but this one is a doozy. I know I'm banded now. However, I did have my first slime/PB experience on Saturday. uh, gross. cheers, chloe
  21. love reading all the blogs!!! mine is in my signature....
  22. ONE-DERLAND!!!! i'm finally here today's weigh-in: 198.4lbs down 2.4lbs since last week doing the happy dance now!!!!! cheers, chloe
  23. Hi Jess55, I travel a lot for work & have flown several times since 12/20 surgery. Here are a few tips & gotchas: - I take my Water bottle. I'm so used to having that thing around me now that its just too weird not to have it within arms reach! Make sure its empty when going through security & fill it after you're thru the checkpoints. At best, you only get a small cup of water on the plane but I get so dry. nice to always have water with me - Pack Snacks. Hardest thing about being on the road for me is eating every 3 hours - it just doesn't jive with most business meetings. Unfortunately, my fav snack greek yogurt will never make it thru security so I throw a couple Protein bars in my bag. Nuts work, too. This way *you* can control what/when you eat & not have to be at the mercy of some else's sched. - Pack Protein powder. I actually have shakes I like. I bought a little divided container (its in the baby section at your local chain store - moms use it for baby powder) so I can easily carry 3 servings with me. This I know I can get some protein in - regardless of what may be on the menu. Good luck & safe travels. chloe
  24. Thanks, ladies! I really appreciate all your stories ....and especially glad to know I'm not alone in this. Just like tanqueray, I'm done having kids & will stick with the IUD. cheers! chloe
