  1. Finally got EVERYTHING done. All Doctors appointments, psyc evals, letters, weight history, EVERYTHING. Now I have to wait on insurance to give final approval so I can set my surgery date! So come on already!!!!!
  2. I'm 55 and haven't got a surgery date yet. The last thing I have to do is go to see my cardiologist to get him to sign off on the surgery. (I had quad by-pass surgery in 08) I see him next Thursday. I can't wait to start my journey! Right now I feel bad all the time and can't hardly walk most of the time. I'm ready for a new life!
  3. Thanks for the replies. Today I saw my dietitian and my surgeon. I have appointments to get my psych eval 1-4 and on 1-13 I see my cardiologist to be cleared for my surgery. I don't have to have the six month supervised diet and I have already had a upper GI and an endoscopy so I should be ready for my surgery in late Jan.
  4. My name is Rick. I'm still in the process of getting banded. I have had two visits/meetings and have two on WED. One with the dietitian and one with the surgeon. I guess next will be the psych eval. I am 55 and right now my weight is 300lbs. My BMI is 52 and I have 4 co-morbidity's. I have battled weight all my life and need to do something about it NOW! I'm excited about the prospect of changing my health and feel good again! I'm a minister, its hard to try and help others when you feel like your life is over. I know up front from reading posts from this site and others that the band is only a tool. I still have to do the work. I hope they give me surgery date soon! Looking forward to starting this journey!
  5. I'm in the process of lap band surgery. I am 55 years old. BMI 52 wt 300lbs. Doctors have told me if I don't loose the weight I will be disabled in a few years. I have read several posts on several sites and wonder if the benefits are worth the trials everyone has. Very few people have had a good experience. A lot of people sound like if they could do it over again they wouldn't. Could someone please tell me the good side of having the surgery.
