Christian Bandsters
Hi, just got home this am (230) from being banded in MX - It was wonderful. As for God and belief of the band. It is my thought that he wants his childern to be healthy, have more energy to do his work and to sing his praises when he puts all the things in place so that we make our bodies back to the "holly temple" that he designed us for. I knowthat God took care of me getting the band. Every step was taken care of before I needed it. My DH was granted vacation and his vacation didn't start until september, the $$ was there, it has been a God thing every step. I will be telling everyone what God has done for me in this part of the journey. The fun is yet to come I am sure..

Mexico Banders?
I would like to put in my 2 cents. I have just arrived home from MX and being banded. It was awsome! beyond my expectations and the care was unbelievable. would love to get this type of care at a US hospital. The hospital was Spotless, staff completely attentive to any requests and again I am excited for the journey but Dr.Aceves is awsome. He actually does his surgeries in a hospital that is privately owned. The hospital reminds you of a high class hotel. They are constantly cleaning. My DH was very impressed. I know that I will pay the extra in airfare to get fills in MX b/c my confidence is in dr. and his staff.

Congrats on making the decision! I too have been over weight for ever!!! I finally made the decision to do this and may 24 is the day. I used one of the financing companies that the doctors office accepted and in like 2 days everything was done. YOu just have to apply and pick the one that you want. I only had to use my income, but I do have a pretty good credit score but do have some debt. Good luck!

the guy on the video is an AWSOME Christian, he is on fire for the LORD. My church was blessed to have him at our block party and then for chuch services also he did two paintings and one service was clay sculptures. he is UNREAL in in person. He has two of the cutest little children, forgive me i cannot remember their names. the little boy was still stroller size and his girl was about 5 and has so disabilities, not really downs but in that catagory. When he came he was really concerned his wife had to stay home because she was very ill, so he and the kids still came. Well God wanted him to be there, everything came together. Perfect people showed up to care for the children. And for some reason i was there to mediate and comfort him that the ladies that had them were "okay". One lady showed up that is an RN, and was administrator of homehealth that takes care of very critical children and she has a 25 yr old dgtr with the very similar disabilities as Richards children. Barbara and his little girl played all day. Barbarar the RN hadn't planned on coming but decided at the last minute to come. God was so ready to make changes right there and wow he is alive and well and i am thankful and blessed that I saw his hand working that day. wow. But this man is definately a man of GOD. thank you too for this thread and thank you for letting me ramble.

I need some good thoughts
I understand completely in the area of 2nd guesses. I have been looking at doing this for a couple of years. a week ago tomorrow i was looking again, i met someone on here and as of Tuesday i am now scheduled to have this done. I am at the point that if i don't do something, my life could be cut short. I really don't have any advice. but in Sunday school last weekend, i put this on our class prayer list, (well not the entire truth) i put need confirmation for decision, We , DH and I, went by post office on the way home and there was LB info from the company that I had called for 3-4 months ago, My prayer in church was let me see YOU (God) make it clear that I am in your will and that if this is not what you want me to do make it clear and stop it. I go home and that was in the mail. My husband said when i told him what had happened smiled and said thank you Lord, he had asked for a sign. So that was what helped with my 2nd guessing, now i am just a bundle of nerves waiting for this to happen. Like your husband said to stop reading them, that is easy to say, but we cannot borrow trouble from tomorrow. Just need to be informed and know or have a plan b in place to go to. I think this site is a good plan b from what i have been reading here we can post what our problem and there are wonderful people here that are willing to do some research and help find solutions. Just keep focused on the outcome, My bmi is starting at 61, i have done every type of diet except for Optifast. I have lost 80-90 # many times only to gain them back. so I am going to be thankful for the tool to help keep it long term. Good luck !

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
5"10 420, 60 i think.. I am not going to tell anyone, just taking vacation from work, not telling mom, will go see her oct/nov. i should be able to loose some weight in 5 months. From those of you that have "been there done that" do the larger begining LB loosers loose more quickly? just curious what others have lost.

Last straw stories
I am begining to understand exactly! i have made the decision (thanks to was a bubble butt ) to get this done from Friday to today making the arrrangements and gathering $$ i too will be private pay, i should be in bed sleeping but 3 am is good for other things, like finding air fare, emailing bosses for vacation. I can only dream. I told one of the people i am talking with I would love to be able to even ride roller costers again. but i do understand about the weight hindering the job. You just don't have the energy to carry on. I want to live and i can hardly wait to get a firm date and wait for memorial weekend. THis is a crazy ride and don't want it to stop! You know there have been a lot of famous people that didn't become famous until after 65, 85 ect, you are still a young thing.. don't look back in regret keep looking on and going forward. You are an inspiration to many. Even people you probably don't know are watching. good luck !
