  1. Suzzzie- when you were saying your right side and back were hurting after you ate all that the other day was it hurting really bad -like cramping and take your breathe away pain? Just curious because I have been having pain on my right side quite a bit. Have you ever had that kind of pain before? BTW don't beat yourself up about it, I've have evidently been overeating a bit myself. Things seem to go down pretty good and only a few times have I had a stuck feeling and have never thrown up. However maybe they are not going down as good as I thought and I'm eating to big of bites and not chewing well enough or just overeating, and that is why my right side has been hurting. Is that gas pain I wonder? Okay this may be a really dumb question but what causes gas? I mean I know certain foods do but is it because they are not digested well? Or are there other reasons why food can cause gas pain? Does eating to big of bites not chewing well, and drinking too fast? Thanks for any insight on this. I just have never had gas issues before this surgery Laura
  2. Toni, when you say you can't tolerate some foods-what happens that you know you can't tolerate them? Thanks Laura
  3. Hey-just wondering if other peoples Dr. or nutritionist says no pasta, rice, bread, potatoes or fruit til you have reached your goal weight. And to avoid red meat, pork, venison, veal and raw vegetables for the first 6 months. If you have restrictions to certain foods, what are they and why? Thanks Laura
  4. I know how you feel, I had my first fill last Friday and I don't feel much difference. I can eat more then a cup of food. I can't wait til I have that feeling of being full after eating a small amount of food. My Dr. doesn't do a second fill until 4 weeks after the first. I will say though that even though I don't have the restriction yet that I am so axiously waiting for I have been eating much healthier and smaller portions.
  5. Bigbaby - I am so sorry to hear about your port flipping, Did the doctor say if this happens often? Hang in there, I'll be thinking of you and you will be back on track soon!!! Insubordination- I know exactly how you feel, the past few days I have been down too. Can't really explain it. Might be because I lost 20 lbs from pre-op to two weeks post op and then only 1 or 2 lbs in the next 3 or 4 weeks and then knowing even after the 1st fill I still may be not be restricted. I know I just have to be patient and it will happen. Plus after my first fill I had to do liquids for 3 days-that certainly did not help my mood:rolleyes: We'll get through this time and we will feel better. We can do this:)
  6. I got my first fill Friday and am on liquids for three days, then tommorrow I get to start blended for 3 days, I am hoping to feel restriction tommorrow when I eat, I can't really tell right now. Should I be able to with liquids? I am so ready to start losing more weight i have pretty much been at the same weight for the last 3 or 4 weeks. Did anyone else have to be on liquids for 3 days after their fill? Just curious. Hope everyone is doing great:)
  7. I would be up for a trip to Vegas. Never been, sounds like fun! Would be great to meet all you guys:)

I had my first fill today, wasn't so bad, just the pressure when putting the needle in the port was kinda weird feeling. I really don't feel any difference he put 1 cc in my 3 or 4 cc band.He had 2 cc in and when looking at the band through the floroscope (I think that's what it was) while I was drinking the barium he said that was too much restriction so took out 1 cc. So I am on liquids for three days and then blended for three days and then if I can tolerate solids I can move on. I am very curious to find out if I have any restriction. If you are able to tell by liquids than i don't feel any different. I am only down 1 pound since my last visit two weeks ago. 261.6

I went to see my surgeon yesterday and I am down seven pounds from the last visit. 262.8 My incisions are looking good and I get my first fill on July 27th. I can't wait because I am hungry seems like all the time. I must say I am doing pretty good to not snack and just eat my three meals, but it is not easy. My goal is lose 2 or 3 more pounds until my fill in 2 and a half more weeks. 261.0

  13. WATERS- you are too funny I love what you wanted to put on your sign, thanks for making me laugh:) MARIE - I too have felt like what the hello have I done. But it gets better, and I would guess there are quite a few of us who have experienced that feeling at least once. What a HUGE change we have just made:eek: We will get used to it, but it takes time to adjust and We will !!! It really is so nice to be able read on this forum to know we are not alone in some of the things we feel and experience. Thanks Laura
  14. Holli, I noticed you are from Tennessee. What part of TN? Who is your Surgeon? I am in Nashville and my Surgeon is David Dyer. Laura
  15. I know exactly how you feel, I became a little depressed when after a week out from surgery I still did not have much energy and felt like I could not keep up, which of course I couldn't because my body was still and still is recovering from surgery. I am feeling better and better everyday and I finally feel like i have energy again. I do also feel like I might get the "well, you wanted this""it was your choice" But I know it's just me being paranoid, because everyone is very supportive of my decision. I said to one of my friends one day "I think i just need a good cry". And sometimes I really think we do.
