  1. I am so sorry you felt this way but trust me it wont be like that for long! You are doing great. The only advice I can give you for now is to at least acknowledge that you are not where you used to be, I wish I gave myself more credit for that during my journey.
  2. I did not have this happen to me but something does not seem quite right. I would talk to someone in the office about this, usually the assistance get paid under the doctors fees and so on. Contact your insurance company too and make sure the surgeons office is not double billing.
  3. Thank you all so very much for your very encouraging reply's. You all have offered such great insight and I have taken it all to heart.
  4. Hello all, I usually don't post but lurk and I have enjoyed reading this forum, but now I need some advise please. I feel like such a liar and here is my problem, I was banded 2 years ago and weighed 325 pounds I now weigh 150 pounds and am 5 pounds away from goal. I work out at the gym everyday and eat healthy as well. I have 5cc's in my 10cc band. Lately I have had some people who see me at the gym everyday and say way to go you look great and I always say thank you but recently I have had 2 women come up to me and tell me that they have been watching me and that they remember how big I was when I started and that I motivate them and then they ask me what are you doing? Here is where I become a liar, I don't tell them about the band I always wanted to be private about it. Big mistake I feel. The only people who know about my band are my husband, (who is banded) my kids, and my side of the family (who live out of town). When people walk by and say way to go I didn't feel the need to say I'm banded. But with these 2 ladies it feels different they are heavier and really seem like they are looking for answers on how they can loose weight. I told them how I eat and how much I workout but I feel so wrong! I remember when I was looking for answers. So I need advise on how do I come clean with people I meet at the gym and have talked to without having to switch to a new gym lol?
  5. Hello, I am down 150 pounds and it took me a year and a half to lose that. I am 20 pounds away from my goal weight and hope to be there by this August. The way I eat is all natural, and unprocessed foods. If It groans in the ground, roams in the field, swims in Water or flies in the sky I eat it. The options of what to cook are endless and surprisingly low in calories. As far as my workout goes, I started out just walking at the gym and doing water aerobics to build up my stamina and self confidence. Now I no longer walk but I run 4 days a week along with pilates tower 2 times a week and TRX training once a week. I am sorry that you are struggling we all have days like that. Do you have proper restriction yet? That makes a big difference. Hang in there you can do it!
  6. I am so sorry about your set back. Try to find another workout you can do that wont bother your muscle you don't want to cause further injury to it. I will defiantly pray for you! God bless
  7. I do TRX at the gym with a trainer and it's wonderful you will be so glad you bought it. I only suggest that you go into your gym maybe every other month for a training session to get new moves, and to make sure you are doing them right.
  8. Good idea for Today my meal plan is: Breakfast-Chobani greek peach yogurt Lunch-baked flounder with asparagus Snack-Wheat thin fiber blend crackers with a Laughing Cow cheese wedge, and half an orange. Dinner-3oz filet mignon with red white and blue potatoes, with broccolini. Yum!
  9. WrenBird you need to look up The Diet Solution by Isabella Del Rossi. It's a 15 minute video keep a pen and pad beside you to take a few quick notes. My husband and I started to eat this way back in March and I lost 15 pounds in the first week. If you do let me know what you think.
  10. Thank you for posting this I had my whole family read it.
  11. 19 lbs is fantastic! I didn't lose weight until 4 weeks after surgery because of all the fluids they pump in you but..... a little over a year later i am down 122 lbs! Hang in there let yourself heal and follow the rules your surgeon has given you. As far as the starvation mode goes I don't know about that. IMO as long as you are getting in all your protien your body will use the reserve energy you have (fat).
  12. Congratulations!!! Keep up the good work.
