Suzzzie 98% of the battle is in the mind. I was banded 10 months ago, things are going great so far. I too love sweets, ice cream, cookies, etc. I still have them in moderation and continue to lose. You shouldnt think you can never have those things again, thats crazy talk, but everything in moderation. As far as the band, it sounds like there are problems there, I dont think you should have reflux unless something is wrong??? Not sure on that

So true Wanna Be, I think people are more judgemental now than when I ate anything I could. I always thought this was the easy way out, but have since learned it is not at all.

I'm in, I promised my dr. that this month I would exercise. This is the month I am really going to give this band a shot and see what we can do for each other. I am almost at my 1 year bandiversary, so its time to get with it.

On the bad side when you tell everyone about your surgery they watch everything you eat and let you know if they think its not enough or to much or not thr right thing.

I would tell everyone, I told everyone about mine. Dont be afraid, you are still doing it on your own. Why wouldnt you tell?

Things will get better, I love my band, best thing I ever did!!!!! I would check into a different dr as well

Dont be worried at all, it is very normal, you might not notice any restriction until after your 3rd or 4th fill. Im about 5.4 in a 10cc band, I have good restriction but it is different for everyone.

I had mine done at a surgery center, Surgery was at 8 a.m., was headed home by 1 p.m., great experience, great staff.

Awesome advice Pam!!!!! Whenever I get stuck and throw up, I always go to liquids for the rest of the day, it seems everything gets inflamed and nothing wants to go dow, its just easiest to do liquids.

Congrats on starting again. You can do it!!!!! It is a struggle, everyday you decide what your gonna do. Exercise or not, eat right or not. We will not always succeed in doing what is right, but we must forgive ourselves get back up and move in the right direction. In my opinion its hard to get support from non banded people, they have no idea what it is like. Never give up on your journey, its a marathon not a sprint.

bread is a no no to eat, drinking is a no no while eating. 45 minutes to an hour after you eat you can drink, any sooner it comes back up for me.

Ashley, Conrats on your decision!!!!! It was the best choice I ever made. I was 591 at my highest, lost 140 as of now. It is a total life changer. I would love to help in any way I could, feel free to ask anything

no kind of drain for me, I was in and out in 6 hours total, admission to going home, easy procedure, no worries.

im hiding my chins with mine, about ready to shave it, not sure tho.

I have tried both, small and large bites, small is so much easier and less painful, I would say they are a little larger than a pencil eraser but not much. I am always the last one done eating, and sometimes they are cleaning the table off before I am done. LOL.

Dave, HI Dave, I am Wayne. My highest weight was 591, when I started my pro op liquids I was 550, day of banding I was 520, I am 453 today, doing wonderful. The band was the best choice I have ever made. Yes it is work, yes somedays are tough, but it is so worth it. I feel so much better already. I cant wait to be at goal, but I am enjoying the journey getting there. Ant questions or concerns you might have, feel free to ask me. I would love to help in anyway I can.
