  1. you should not be vomitting, my dr askes every month if I have. This is not the norm, if it is you need to rethink what you are doing wrong. Continual vomitting with lead to your band slipping, then you will have real problems. Slow down, small bites and chew until mush if you have too, or get unfilled a little bit.
  2. My 2 cents, Sometimes, usually I am the last one done eating, and eat the least amount, sometimes they are clearing the table of everything before I am done. Lean Cuisine is not the best to eat for banded people I dont think, I was always told protein first, then veggies???
  3. Barbie, I totally understand the jitters, I think everyone has them, my thoughts were I can do this myself, I dont need this surgery. What if I fail? Almost 1 year later I am so happy with my decision, the best choice I could have made. I had surgery on Thursday and went back to work on Tuesday. The pain wasnt to bad, just make sure you stay hydrated, just lots of small sips of Water. The first couple days were uncomfortable, by Monday I was feeling pretty good.
  4. Congrats Babrbie, I am 11 months out, anyway I can help I will, questions? feel free to ask
  5. I would do what dr has said to do, they know best. My pre op was totally liquid for 3 weeks, sound fun? You can do it!!!! 1 year from now it will all be worth it
  6. Skinny, I still drink diet pop, my dr says its ok????
  7. SkinnyMini, It was the best thing I have ever done, to date I have lost 125 lbs including weight lost during liquid pre op. It is a combination of band, and diet. I have just started to exercise. I am 11 months out from surgery. It is definitely worth every struggle. I was the same way, I wanted to do it on my own, without any aid. Guess what, I am. You still have to decide what to eat, there are ways around the band, you can still eat ice cream, all the bad stuff that got us this way. It is a choice, everyday. Any questions please feel free to ask.
  8. Why do you have to lose 30 before surgery? I had a lot more to lose than 175 and there was no # from the dr I had to lose, just wondering?
  9. It is very normal, lots of people gain weight after the surgery before being filled, just relax, everything will be ok, if hungry then eat, just make wise choices
  10. Congrats Cupcake, I am 11 months out and loving it, any questions please feel free to ask, anything
  11. Thanks Rachel, I was quite surprised she mentioned it, I am not wanting too, Ive worked to hard to go the other way in a week
  12. I am going on a cruise in Decemer, my nurse said I can come in and get some Fluid taken out before we leave if i wanted to. I dont think I want to, I know myself and would probably gain 10 lbs or so while I was gone. Has anyone done this? Heard of this being done?
  13. Kelly, welcome to the new you!!! Banded 11 months and no horror stories here, only great stories. Best decision ever for me, Im sure you will do great
  14. its an individual decision, I chose the band because I did not want anything cut out, taken out, rerouted. I want all my original plumbing. I am 11 months out from surgery and I would say it has been a wonderful success, no problems. Best decision I ever made.
  15. I would start with cardio first, weights later, just my opinion, I am doing cardio now, no weights yet for me
  16. Brandon I am quite a large guy myself, I am doing the 60 mile walking challenge this month, it is wonderful, walk walk walk!!!
  17. surgery Thursday back to work on Tuesday
  18. where there is a will there is a way. I always thought I was to busy to exercise, bu this month I promised my dr. that I would do the 60 mile challenge, as I am walking I realize I have more time than I thought, maybe less tv time or computer time but thats ok. Good luck on your journey!!!
  19. Rayanne and Jojamel, No Debbie downer here, I love my band, 11 months post op and loving life, any questions please feel free to ask, anythying
  20. Dizzy because you are dehydrated, need more water. That was my experience anyway
  21. Does anyone do 5Ks or more? I want to do my first one on Thanksgiving Day, just a little nervous, I dont want to finish last.
  22. Im on pace for 60 miles this month, thanks for the challenge I needed it. Anyone do any 5Ks? Im thinking of doing my first on Thanksgiving Day here in Kansas City, just dont want to finish last lol
  23. Im sure the band doesnt work for everyone, as for me it has not done anything besides being implanted in my body, I have to do the rest. 14 fills and no restriction, sounds like a dr issue not a band issue??? Have you contacted another dr? Im 11 months out and no problems, down 164 lbs. I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry it didnt work for you ladies, its just a tool to work with, we do the work not the band.
  24. The majority of people gain a few pounds before there first fill, its ok. You will be hungry just like before and be able to eat like before until you get a fill or two, dont sweat it, everything will be fine.
  25. Cynthia, I am quite the opposite, I am very rarely hungry. I can go 2-3 day without eating and not get hungry
