Beautiful pic, Floridays. I am right there with you. 5' 10", size 10 shoes, 171 lbs. I will never be petite. I am new at the maintenance myself and learning to think like a skinny person is difficult. I hope over time I get better at it.
    Happy belated birthday, girlfriend!

That is fantastic S. You look amazing! Yeah it is probably so hard thinking now you are just one of the "normal" size people in the room. It will probably take some time to get used 2.
223 pounds is truly an amazing accomplishment you have attained!!
    HAPPY 53 BIRTHDAY!! ENJOY IT.
(as far as body dysmorphia, I suffer from the opposite, lol. Unless I look in the mirror or pass a mirror, I think I am thin, crazy right?)

You look AMAZING! I get the body image thing, I do. You have accomplished so much and you are so much healthier than before. YOu are certainly a wonderful role model for many of us girls who have begun this journey. I know you are one of mine!
    Keep up the great work!

One of my co workers took this pic last week at my birthday celebration... as you see they found me the smallest cake in the world. But when I looked at the picture I noticed there really is a space between my legs which I have seen before but seeing it in a casual pic is pretty eye opening.
I know I have lost alot of weight... but as crazy as it sounds... sometimes I cannot wrap my head around it and still feel like the biggest girl in the room. I am trying hard to think like a thin person and I am not looking for sympathy so if you think I should shut up and pound sand I get that.
At 5'9" and 153 lbs, wearing a size 10 shoe.... I am not petite... and I never will be....I guess maybe that is what I need to start accepting it. I am curious if any other tall galls dealt with this body image issue?

FLORIDAYS reacted to Chris A in Can what you eat now, change after a fill?
Just curious, I have my first fill coming up in March and I'm curious if a lot will change afterwards or if it did for everyone else. I'm on solid foods now or I guess I should say I'm slowly transitioning into them and so far so good. Nothing I've eaten has gotten stuck or upset me but I've ben cautious and taken things slow but I'm wondering if after my fill if things I've successfully eaten now will then cause problems for me afterwards. For example right now I have no problems with eating really crusty thin small bites of baguette bread with the doughy center removed so all I'm really eating is the crust and same thing with English muffins, I mainly just eat a really thin piece of it. Will this change after a fill? I'm guessing the fill will make the opening between my upper stomach and lower stomach smaller so it takes longer for food to pass thus keeping me full longer so will this create more problems when I eat stuff that I never had problems with before?

FLORIDAYS got a reaction from Terry Poperszky in Help guys -- Band or Sleeve? I'm scheduled for band Feb.1
I was 50 when I was banded 2 yrs ago. I am 5'9" and I lost 220 lbs in 23 months. I am maintaining at 157 and would like to lose 10 more lbs so i have some wiggle room. I went from 77" hips to 37". Part of my plan was to visit my dr monthly. I stuck to 1000 calories a day and weighed, measured and tracked everything I put in my mouth. I had an average loss of 10 lbs per month. My decision to get the band over other WLS was because I didn't want my anatomy changed. That's not to say other types of WLS doesn't work... I just didn't feel it was the choice for me.
So far I haven't had any issues I hear other discuss. I listen to my band and I don't test it's limits very often and so far it hasn't failed me.

FLORIDAYS got a reaction from LadyDreadHead in why did you choose the band? How much weight did you lose?
I chose the band because of all the WLS out there the band didn't rearrange my anatomy or bodily functions and it can be removed should there be problems. It is a long term solution to help you lose but more importantly for me it helps me keep off the weight. No diet has ever done that. It's a permanant reminder of a temporary feeling!!!
    I lost 220 lbs in 23 months...

I was very strict with myself and I lost 220 lbs in 23 months. I counted every calorie except toothpaste limiting myself to 1000 calories every day. I weighed all my food whenever possible and ate 3 oz protien, 1/2 c veggies or salad and , 1/4 c starch three times every day. I drank more Water then I care to remember and I saw my dr every month without fail. I rarely drank alcohol and cheated less than a handful of times. I didn't exercise except walking which I am not proud of but it's honest. I had plateaus like everyone else but I averaged about ten lbs monthly. I became one with my band and the lesson is now helping me lose a few extra lbs while I am maintaining.
I never believed I would not succeed. Getting banded was a drastic decision for me and one I took very seriously. My life depended on it. And the results are amazing.... Because now I am wearing a size 6 and considering I was born a size 14 I am sure... It's an incredible transformation...one that has changed my life.

I am not a fan of tatoos but have no problem with those who want them. I would just suggest waiting until your loss is finished as you may sag in places you never imagined!!!! That I have first hand knowledge of!

From what I understand it depends on your genes, weight, skin elasticity and luck!
There was no exercise or cream that would have helped mine... I was overweight for most of my adult life, bore a child and lost 220 lbs. and the fact that i was overr 50 added to the orry state of affairs..
Even heavy I wasn't ever large chested...I was only a C cup because of the fat.... So I was doomed.
In December I had the girls lifted and since after all the skin was removed I would have been left with an A cup I added the augmentation. The results are picture perfect and I don't regret it at all.

Not to my knowledge.... Age, Genetics, how long you were overweight, how much you lose and luck play a role in whether or not you will sag or not. I was diligent with creams and moisturizers but it really didn't matter in my opinion.
