I don't really have a different story than anyone else. I have been overweight my entire adult life, and it is time to stop thinking that I can do this myself and get help. Everytime I try to do it myself, I regain all of the weight. My BMI is 35, but I have depression, high triglycerides, a long family history of diabetes and heart disease. Blue Shield of California is my insurance company. I have just started looking in Lap-BAND as an option. My doctor made the referral to a bariatric physician and I have to call them 10/25/10.
